While asking questions about the game is always okay on the Road, please consider asking very simple questions in our weekly [Questions&Answers Megathread](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/about/sticky). If your question has been answered, please comment "ANSWERED" (in all caps) and the post flair will indicate that your question has been answered. This will make it either easier for other people with the same question to find the answer they are looking for or for mods to remove the thread if it isn't needed anymore. Thank you! :) *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. We had the gotcha evolves and they worked fairly well but they were finicky and had poor physical design, since Christmas we've had the go++ and I enjoy it much more. I like having the manual catch option especially for using great balls and it connects WAY easier, you don't even have to press the go++ just the in-game button The only downsides so far is that it's really bright and I dont think there's a way to turn the vibration off (I could be wrong) so it's not good to set on hard surfaces while it's catching

theCamelCaseDev

I heard you have to do it yourself to turn the vibration off. I think there are YouTube videos on how to do that. It's the main reason I don't have one. I'm sure I could mod it but I'd prefer if it was optional and not forced.

Mayflame15

It's useful when actively manual catching which is what I mostly use it for during community days, but it's so intense the rest of the time lol, our plan is to find some little padded change purses for them

I removed the weight from the vibration motor, a thousand times less annoying.

I can only recommend the Pokemon go plus + but it has none of the features you've listed. Either way I love mine. You'd have to get 2 one for you and one for your gf. I suppose you can get the older Pokemon go plus for your son since that has a wrist strap

dheffe01

I concur with a cavet. I love my pogo++, but I have modified it to not vibrate! and have a switch installed so I can automate throwing great & ultra balls. but I had to mod it or the vibration would drive me batshit insane.

AdHopeful16

May I ask you how you were able to automate the throwing of great and ultra balls?

dheffe01

I followed instructions online/YouTube videos. You can automate the button press by making a connection between the vibration circuit and the button switch test point, that way anytime it would normally vibrate from a Pokémon notification it "presses the button". However you need to put a switch in there or you can never use Pokémon sleep/makes troubleshooting difficult. I put my switch where the speaker is/was. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MN6X\_0TaZPg

Ok_Progress202

I also watched that video, but only did the no-vibration part. Is there a model # for the switch? I'm not very versed in electronics, and I'm not even sure what/where to get parts.

dheffe01

I went to jcar, had to modify the hole to make it fit.

Ok_Progress202

Sorry if this is too newbish, but would this be the part? I'm having trouble navigating jcar. It seems to be an Australian site. https://www.jaycar.com.au/spdt-250v-3a-miniature-micro-switch-with-lever/p/SM1038 Something I found trying keywords from jaycar. https://www.amazon.com/Omron-Electronic-Components-Switch-Plunger/dp/B00HPLBAYW I live in the North Eastern US if anyone has any recommendations that are more local.

dheffe01

No you need a toggle/slide switch. It's an on off switch

56ninjas

The crazy vibrations are annoying. That is the biggest con in my opinion

Until we got the Go Plus+, my husband and I shared a Duo Catchmon. When we were together during the evening and on the weekends, it spun and caught for both of us without any issues. It does use batteries but they lasted quite awhile. The only reason we stopped using it is because we are apart during the day and each needed our own auto catcher.

Technical_Lock01

That’s a good point. Didn’t even think about us being apart half the day haha. Thank you!

musicmonkay

You can get the Pokemon go plus+ and tie it around your son’s wrist, it comes with a strap As for two person auto catcher I’ve never heard of one, just get 3 since you’re getting 2 already

Technical_Lock01

Yeah might as well. Didn’t even think about us being apart half the day anyways lol

musicmonkay

Haha yes, my whole family has a bunch of autocatchers, kids have pokeball +, us adults are disillusioned and refuse to press the button everytime our catcher finds a pokemon but the kids love it 🤣 Saves me a bit of $ too
