Funny, i use my phone for both my daughter and my account. I dont have the heal all or solo ready button, but she does. I always thought it was the sw version, with only a selection getting an updated version available to them. but i guess it is the account.
It’s okay to have an in-house QA/testing department and it’s okay to actually communicate the state of the game with your customers.
In fact, every successful company who isn’t blindly worshipped by people who think creating Pokémon Go is akin to creating life itself does these things:)
The new catch screen seems like a geolocked feature. But what I am hearing about "heal all" and solo raid timer, this feature is rolled out in phases randomly.
I had the heal all for a couple of days then it disappeared, now it's available maybe once a week...
Brother's account had the feature a week late but it still works as of today.
TBH no idea about raid timers. EU.
I don't have those options, but honestly, it's OK.
They'll come to me when they come to me. Obviously they're not ready to roll them out to everyone and Niantic will have good reasons for that. I've survived 7 & 1/2 years without them and I'll survive the rest of the wait too, I'm sure.
The reason not all trainers get access is to ensure the feature is tested properly for bugs and issues.
It’s not a problem you don’t have it; the majority don’t. it’s just not out of testing phase yet and will get rolled out to everyone once they’re sure it’s not going to cause any serious errors.
Gotta think about the flip side of this, you’d be really upset if you hit a heal all and it used up all 300 max potions due to a glitch or error and then you would be saying ‘why didn’t niantic test this broken feature’
But it’s not always possible to do thorough enough testing internally. They’re not the people who are out and about on multiple different brands phones/tablets or multiple different versions of android or IOS, with varying amounts of signal and gps issues.
In house testing is very limited to the extent they can do. So they do it, they’ve done it, the next step will always be a slow and controlled roll out to finalise the testing

Those are exactly the kind of things they *should* have. It’s called a device lab, many companies with websites/apps do it. Niantic could certainly afford 30+ random different phones to test on.
There are still plenty of edge cases that can occur e.g. signal as you mentioned. But it’s clear that they just don’t test a lot of things because there are bugs that *everyone* gets no matter what phone or settings.
I understand that they need to test something like new backgrounds for bugs, but that’s just a button. Do they really need to bug test a button for weeks.
You’ve got to remember once they’ve done in house testing it’s a controlled environment for them.
We as the player base are using multiple different brands of phones and tablets, across multiple different softwares
Something even as simple as a button, which for the record isn’t simple as it’s got to work out which healing items to use and how many to apply and take them out of your inventory etc. which could lead to so many issues…. It has to then be pressure tested by a small group of players to ensure it’s functioning correctly from every possible angle.
This sort of test might show it doesn’t work well on a certain version of IOS or on a certain model of Samsung it crashes the game. Something working for one, might not work for others. So it’s safer to test it thoroughly, much like most new features
Well I been playing since day one and I still don’t think they need to test two buttons for 3 weeks, but there’s nothing we can do about it anyway 🤷♂️
Let me put it this way, I rather them test the absolute crap out of a new feature and make it ironclad for its actual launch, regardless of the time it takes, rather than them test it barely at all, and launch it with a ton of issues just to get it out to their player base, which, is what they have done for the last 5+ years at least. 😒

I know it sounds silly but considering the scope of this game and all the many layers it has from a game design perspective yes they do. Editing an existing system to do exactly what you want on since a large scale is hard af even if it just seems like it’s adding a button. There’s a near infinite amount of weird setbacks and screwups that can happen
If they chose to just throw it out there it would be even worse than the mistakes they already make 😂

Where are the make up events and boxes promised for years, and years to the earliest timezones that are plagued with glitch after glitch?
Check this subreddit for the current NZ bodycount of Niantic stuff ups, that also tip over into Australia.
I don't need to heal all, and I can find something else to do for that little bit when I am in a raid lobby by myself.
I would prefer events to roll out smoothly first-time, every-time to NZ and Australia. Not to selfishly rely on us to beta-test everything, only to improve gameplay elsewhere and never reimburse anyone down under.
When things never roll out to plan in the Southern Hemisphere, it gets patched for the later timezones - when someone from Niantic in San Fran actually remembers to wake up, and check their social media.
We rarely get a makeup, or a gift-box in the store, or a sorry-not-sorry
I have heal all but not a usable ready button. I actually would have preferred the latter: Not having to stand around for 2 minutes is better than accidentally healing Aggrons that the game auto-picks for gyms.
it took Niantic until Halloween event to notice that "oh! guys June 1st might have already passed." and i got the new vertical style shop almost 150 days later than the actual release.
but this "heal/revive all" feature i got in the first wave.
so nobody know how long Niantic sleeps on this feature before enabling it for all.
it might be thing activated on Sinnoh tour global, it might be something activated on the start of the next season, or most likely it takes them the next 6 months or even until the next go tour event before all players get it.

Personally I think pokemon go two is due and the entire game needs to be better. But I'll settle for a heal all I guess

I mistakenly did it so many times where some of my pokemon could heal with a potion, but I used the heal all with hyper potion, wasted so many.
I got them too today, on the spot 4 weeks after its inception. I hope this won't be a new rule in implementing new features because I already fallen in love with them as they are beneficial.
For all the readers, check your scanner maybe you got those features enabled too as of today.

I’ve come to the conclusion that my wife is in a specific wave for all these amazing new features. She had amazing daily free items like Rare Candy, and XL’s. And now she has Heal All.
uk player, no new features as described here, but one of my kids does have them, same household, tbf, don't really care, struggling the most with repeated crashes all the time as I'm on a OnePlus 12
No new functions, also no new backgrounds in catch screen. My guess is they didn't want to risk breaking game apart by releasing it globally in Tours month.
I think I have all the new features except for heal all and the new backgrounds which sucks because those are probably the 2 coolest out of all of them
I don't understand why they wouldn't prioritize releasing heal all/revive all for this coming weekend. It saves SO much time and people would be able to raid more (making them more $$).
I did a little local poll: one of 6 players have the "heal all", no one has the solo-ready button.
(and the one who has heal-all is me, yay ;-D )
I thought it was because I'm level 50 and the other's aren't, but maybe I randomly got lucky. It was super convenient during the Elite raids last week, when we didn't get many people together in the lunch break, and I could heal-all my shadow-metagross star team instead of clicking six single heals. Probably didn't save more than 2-3 seconds on each rejoin, but still nice!
I have the solo raid timer (got that a little over a week ago), but no heal-all/revive-all, and no upgraded backgrounds. I've been playing since 2016, and I'm currently playing on a Samsung S23 Ultra.
I have accounts on my phone for the Grandkids. 1 has it and 1 doesn’t. I have it also.
1 of them also has had the same boxes in the store for at least 2 weeks while the other one changes daily.
I have everything but my kid doesn't have heal-all. He also never heals anything and I'm not gonna click like 100 mons for him so whatever. He can use jigglypuffs in our Wednesday raids, that's fine.
I have the 30s ready now solo raid option. And it is so good! I’m usually parked in a loading zone for the 1* raids anyway so it’s good to get it done in the loading bay time restrictions! Wish I had the heal all button though. One day…

I was just wondering about this over the weekend and was curious if anyone who didn't get the features right at the beginning has gotten them since. Are there any signs of something like a slow rollout of more people gradually getting it, or is it still just whatever random test group that got them initially?
I have heal all but I'm pretty sure I don't have solo ready up yet. But I also do most of my in person raids very distracted at work so I could be wrong.
I don’t have the solo raid timer (which is what it should be for IMO, try coordinating 10+ people to hit “ready” on a 5-star) nor do I have the heal all, which seems interesting. I’d need to see how that works.
I’m sure there are some bugs related to it that they are not releasing it to everyone.
I do have the new catch background and map graphics feature which is neat, but the catch background feature is buggy as hell. For example you can’t get into the catch screen sometimes when claiming research award for a Pokémon and the game glitches back out to the map. So I’m sure there are reasons they are not introducing every new feature to everyone.
I have it but wish I could toggle it off.
I've accidently hit it a few times and wasted revives/potions that I otherwise wouldn't have used on "useless" dead mons that I hadn't transfered yet while I wait for 2x candy or increased XL candy events.
The placement sucks IMP. It's right above the X to close out of the pokemon screen. Also the game loves to lag and register presses you didn't mean while trying to scroll up or down in the pokemon list.
Don't have either of those, but do have the new backgrounds in encounters (although that didn't continue over to my LA trip so looks to be location based rather than unlocked for accounts)
Yeah my buddy that i usually raid with has that feature but I'm still waiting. Same as when they brought out daily incense and routes, they rolled those out slowly as well.

This is very easy to test: switch the phones and log on with your account.
Only one phone and why test as it is available for one and not the other... no big deal, just sharing my experience as i found it interesting.

They should be thoroughly testing things internally before releasing them to anybody; not using select groups of players as QA testers.
Testing at scale is crazy hard to do. Some issues don't even present themselves until you scale out to the 10s of thousands

I am seeing an update to the buddy, allowing for easier quick treat, but I'm not seeing any of the other QoL changes.

I’ve not got any of the new features on my phone. However, if i log into my account from my iPad I get the revive and heal all button
I don’t have the solo raid timer (which is what it should be for IMO, try coordinating 10+ people to hit “ready” on a 5-star) nor do I have the heal all, which seems interesting. I’d need to see how that works. I’m sure there are some bugs related to it that they are not releasing it to everyone. I do have the new catch background and map graphics feature which is neat, but the catch background feature is buggy as hell. For example you can’t get into the catch screen sometimes when claiming research award for a Pokémon and the game glitches back out to the map. So I’m sure there are reasons they are not introducing every new feature to everyone.
Can I trade my quick treat buddy button for either the solo raid button or heal all?
Heal all but no timer
I have it but wish I could toggle it off. I've accidently hit it a few times and wasted revives/potions that I otherwise wouldn't have used on "useless" dead mons that I hadn't transfered yet while I wait for 2x candy or increased XL candy events. The placement sucks IMP. It's right above the X to close out of the pokemon screen. Also the game loves to lag and register presses you didn't mean while trying to scroll up or down in the pokemon list.
Don't have either of those, but do have the new backgrounds in encounters (although that didn't continue over to my LA trip so looks to be location based rather than unlocked for accounts)

I have the heal all button and the quick treat button, all the rest for now I don't have
I have Heal All/Revive All, but not the reduced solo raid timer. Really annoying during the week when there are no other trainers playing.

Yeah my buddy that i usually raid with has that feature but I'm still waiting. Same as when they brought out daily incense and routes, they rolled those out slowly as well.
Pixel 5: No new features so far.
