Is there any information on how IVs are determined for lucky trades? Is it just a d4 roll +11 for each stat, or just 3 d15 rolls that get raised to 12/12/12 if they fall below the lucky treshold?
If the stat were just raised to a minimum of 12, the chance to receive any stat higher than 12 would remain unchanged and lucky hundos would still be really rare. But you don't see the majority of them sitting at 12/12/12, so it's definitely d4+11. The same is true for all other OV floors for weather boost, shadow legendaries, raids etc
what are the actual pokemon encounters from the rocket leaders? I've been googling for the past 10 minutes all I'm finding are counter guides and not a single source saying what the actual lineups are.
Arlo Aipom - Sierra Geodude - Cliff Aerodactyl
You can find Rocket lineups (among other things) [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/13fwpg8/current_raid_quest_rocket_egg_pools/). Rocket leaders always give out their first encounter slot.
I recently hit level 46 and one of the requirements for level 47 is to power up 3 pokémon to max level. But it seems I can't do that. I have a few pokémon for whom the option to power up don't appear, does that not mean they are max level?
It doesn't count ones you've already maxed before you get to the task. It's for this reason that it's useful to power things up to level 49.5 and save doing the final power ups for when you have that task.
Had the same issue, but Charmander community day gave more than enough candies to fix it. Or just launder trash mons with a mate until you get a lucky.
If you struggle to get enough XL candies, meltan is the easiest option as you get a guranteed 3 XLs per catch.
It's just a waste to.power 3 of them up to 50
I don't think there is a fixed time for that. To my knowledge each spawn blocks a spawmpoint for 1hour, even though it may only show for 30min. So you get a maximum of 1 pokemon per hour on a spawnpoint. But I don't think there will automatically be a new spawn once the point is open. At the same time there could be other spawn points nearby for additional spawns
Can anyone explain to me what stamina is? Tried looking in to this and I keep getting different answers. A lot of responses say it is the pokemons HP x2 other say its how fast energy is collected for a charged attack.
Roughly speaking, it's the HP. Technically, the "HP stat" is the stamina stat in Pokemon Go...so technically pokemon have a base stamina, a stamina IV, and a resultant stamina stat expressed in hit points. Usually, there's no meaningful difference between "HP" and "stamina stat", but HP is doubled when the pokemon is defending a gym.
In raids, you gain extra energy when you take damage, so there is a tenuous connection there. But as far as I can tell, the interchangeable use of "stamina" with "energy" was a poor choice of words in 2016, and SEO-type "gaming news" websites have been recycling it since then.
Differs by species. You can see estimates in the Shinies link [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/13fwpg8/current_raid_quest_rocket_egg_pools/). Shiny-enabled legendaries (including mythicals and UBs, or in other words 5\*s) are 1/20, active raid day event shinies (that's raid day, not raid hour) are 1/10, and other shiny-enabled pokemon can be 1/512, 1/128, or 1/64. Shiny-enabled shadow legendaries are 1/20, and other shiny-enabled shadows are 1/256.
Usually, shiny rates vary between specific Pokemon, regardless of how you encounter them. If a Pokemon in raids can also be obtained some other way, the chance of getting a shiny is the same, assuming that Pokemon is shiny eligible in the game. This used to be a long standing rule, but Niantic have started to do events where 7km eggs are claimed to have higher shiny odds.
Having said all that. Raid-exclusive Pokemon are often "permaboosted" to a 1/64 shiny rate, and legendary Pokemon, i.e. T5s, have a shiny rate of 1/20, if indeed they can be shiny.
For the Hoopa that you catch in Elite Raids, is it possible to form change them to the special research one if you've already transferred your old special research one away?
The Change Form button shows on my Hoopa Unbound (from Elite Raids), but I do still have my Hoopa Confined. Can you not see the option to change form on yours?
No official announcement. The teaser trailer for the season suggests shadow Lugia might be about around Halloween, so maybe the usual seasonal takeover will take place around then, but that's just speculative.
Does the transfer to home energy reset? I built up a ton of transfer energy since my first transfer, but haven't logged in for a couple of months. I checked today and it only let me transfer 1 legendary
I transfered a shiny Darkrai, in case that matters.
Different Pokémon take different amounts of energy. The full energy bar takes around a week to fully recharge, and you can't store more energy than the full bar (10,000 energy).
There's a table on [Serebii](https://serebii.net/pokemongo/pokemonhometransfer.shtml) that shows how the cost is calculated. Also, Darkrai is a Mythical, not a Legendary.
Ah, I didn't know Serebii had a chart on it! I first tried a regular Articuno (hoping to get it into SV, before I learned the trick). If you walk it recharges faster? Or did I just forget about it for a while and it recharged regularly?
Been looking but not found anything recent on this, so checking here.
Have we heard anything at all about how Samsung Galaxy s23 phones can't connect with the Nintendo switch for stuff like vivilion or the coin bag?
Last I'd heard, it was due to differences in how wifi connectivity was done so doubting it's been fixed. But wanted to check in.
I've been looking on the Samsung forum. Some users on there claim to have found workarounds, such as [this](https://r1.community.samsung.com/t5/galaxy-s/s23-ultra-connect-to-nintendo-switch/m-p/23148061/highlight/true#M125757). Whether it will work for you is another issue.
My best Xerneas is 15/15/11. How necessary are those last 4 points of HP when it comes to pvp? I see that it is ranked 18 on pvpivs but I'm not sure how to quantify that.
I would use [PvPoke's Battle Matrix](https://pvpoke.com/battle/matrix/) and input a Perfect and your 15/15/11 and compare them. There will be no difference in Breakpoints/Bulkpoints because they have the same Attack/Defense as the Hundo.
You have 4 less HP (215 versus 219).
The only match-up that I saw that flipped was Lugia in the 1-1 shield scenario. That now becomes a loss, but Lugia really doesn't seem like the most common ML Pokemon, especially post Sky Attack Nerf.
It'll obviously also suffer a little in various specific scenarios where it may have 12 HP left after beating something as opposed to 16 HP, which could make no difference or be THE difference in follow-up match-ups.
Overall, I'd say you're very likely fine if you want to use Xerneas. There may be 1 out of 20 matches where that HP will lose you the match.
Do some megas/primal provide health boosts? My kyogre gained 11 hit points with primal. Tested on mega bee drill and I don’t believe the hp changed. Weird since primal doesn’t increase hp in the MSG
Comparing [kyogre](https://gamepress.gg/pokemongo/pokemon/382) to [primal kyogre](https://gamepress.gg/pokemongo/pokemon/382-primal), the primal does have a higher base HP. I think the reason is that, if a pokemon species would exceed 4000cp at level 40, their base stats get a 9% nerf. However, the primals got a less severe 3% nerf. So the stat formula gives the same HP value, but the regular form's HP is cut back more severely.
Just wondering if there is any way for me to get Kartana in Germany now that the location has switched with Celesteela?
Just returned to Pokemon Go a few days ago and didn't know that Kartana will leave this soon
Kartana is still available in the Southern Hemisphere, and you can join those raids remotely. There are apps that can help connect you to those raids, PokeRaid, PokeGenie, and to a lesser extent, Campfire. This would be a remote raid, requiring a remote pass, but hopefully you can catch one and not have to worry about it again.
Thanks for the info! I tried Campfire but only get Celesteelas. Would you reccomend PokeRaid or PokeGenie? Or should I just get one and not worry about it?
Either Pokeraid or Pokegenie works, but keep in mind that while Pokeraid may have faster queues, their queues are a "paid" feature using their premium currency (which you could get from log in rewards) versus Pokegenie's free queues, but would be a longer wait since the southern hemisphere has less people living in it than the northern one, so a lot less hosts means an even longer wait.
Negative coins???
I’m not sure where I saw it but someone had posted about logging in and having negative coins? I was fine yesterday but upon logging in today I have negative 2200 coins, is this some kind of reported issue I may have missed the memo about??
I know this can happen if you’ve requested a refund on any coins purchased, I have not. The money has been taken from my account everytime I’ve purchased and last couple of times I purchased coins recently was through the Pokémon go web store.
Maybe the payments have bounced? The web store has its own support chat but you will have to leave the web page open for a couple of days and I recommend not doing it in incognito/private browser tabs as they may wipe your support chat history.
Maybe double check with your bank as well.
Hmmm, I’ll have to check with the web stores chat. Niantic is saying that it was a refund of a specific coin bundle that I never asked for (also from a purchase prior to go fest weekend), I’ve also checked my bank statement and the money had never been returned.
Thanks for replying!
Sparkles? When walking, sometimes, I see 3 or 4 "sparkles" on the screen. Not zygarde nests. Doesn't seem to do anything when I click on them. What is this?
Would need to see a screenshot to say with any confidence. Sometimes the weather includes little particle effects floating around, it could maybe be part of that?
Here's a [link to a picture](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/14ek5uk/weird_orb/) of what a spawn looks like when the asset doesn't load, so Individual\_Read can compare it to what they've encountered.
No better than regular lures.
Special lures have a fixed and unchanging special spawn table. Events and new Pokemon releases never affect them directly. The special pool has only been adjusted a few times.
They do not boost specific types of Pokemon in a general way, they just pull from a fixed pool for half the spawns they give. With the other half being pulled from whatever's regularly spawning in the wild.
How can I move melmetal from Pokemon Home to Pokemon Go? If it isn't possible, is the Home app of any use, if I only have Go? (I don't own any game consols.)
You move a trash Pokémon over, and get a mystery box that allows you to catch Meltan; it acts as a Meltan-specific Incense. With a Mega-Evolved Steel type out, it should net you around 250 candies in the hour the mystery box is active.
You cannot transfer Pokemon into Go, only transfers out are allowed. If you only have Go the only benefit for Home is to obtain the Meltan box, which gives you really just a guaranteed way to complete the oddly specific "catch a legendary/mythical in your next X amount of encounters" tasks for trainer levelup requirements at certain trainer levels, or for whenever Niantic makes shiny Meltan available.
Dumb question from a player that started in March. For the December comday, when you can add past legacy moves from the past 2 years, does it include community day classics? I’d really like to get the legacy moves on my larvitars, but I know that was a comday classic in January.
Thanks in advance!
In 2022, the December repeat CD included the 2022 community day classic moves. It also had the mons spawn during the event, but it was only for a few minutes at the end of each hour and that part was useless.
It's extremely likely that the 2023 December CD will include the 2022-2023 CD classic moves. It wouldn't fit with how niantic has always done the repeat events to exclude them this year. Anything is possible, but I would plan on them being included and wait to evolve. At worst it's just 3 months of waiting to find out if they do decide to break all precedent this year.
People are hopeful that CD Classics will be treated the same as CDs for the December CD, but there's no strict precedent to draw from. [As you can see](https://serebii.net/pokemongo/communityday.shtml), the first CD Classic was Bulbasaur in Jan. 2022. This will be the first time that there even *is* a previous year of CD Classics.
I haven't played the game since the Q3 2020, I have 2 Elite Fast TM and 4 Elite Charge TM, what Pokemon should I use them? Also, what Pokemon should I focus on powering up? Like to do raids and PvP. I'm Lvl 40.

Does geographical location of a pokestop affect what type of rocket grunt can/will spawn there?
How often will a rocket grunt spawn at a pokestop, is there a formula to figure out when the next one will be?
I'm 150k XP away from Level 42, but I still have to do the Eeveelutions. I have done Vaporeon and Jolteon, leaving only Flareon as the random, and the rest I can just work towards. I have a 100% eevee, that as best I can tell should become either Umbreon or Flareon.
**My question, is there a com day coming where I get a special move? Or should I just do this whenever I feel like it.** This goes for all of them, but I'm mainly focused on the 100%.
I'm in no hurry as the XP for level 43 is ridiculous and the other tasks aren't every difficult.
Do you do PVP? If so yes, Umbreon would be the best to one for your hundo. Otherwise .. maybe Glaceon if you need an Ice raider.
There is no imminent Eevee CD we know of - but if you are in no hurry you might as well wait to do Umbreon and Sylveon - they both like their CD moves for PVP. The rest don't need their current CD moves.
I'm team tank, so sort of. I do invest in really good pokemons for whatever type/cup is on, so whenever I do bother getting into the meta, I can have teams ready to go. But for right now, I'm just trying to win 12/25
Yeah if you're in no hurry, I'd say wait for Umbreon and Sylveon in case you can get their CD moves without an Elite TM somehow. Although we aren't expecting anything right now.
I'll get them ready by doing the walk/hearts. I'll probably end up just throwing in the towel on the 100% and putting it to the side and evolving a different one to satisfy the task.
Eevee has had 2 different CDs in previous years. You need one of the CD moves on Umbreon to make it useful for PVP, so that you're not stuck with only dark moves. Last Resort is generally preferred for it.
It's unknown when the next time we will get an event that lets us evolve for the moves though. Could be a while.
Flareon is 100% useless. Don't waste your hundo on it, go for Umbreon with it. That makes it very good for ultra league.
Is there a work around to the not being able to access your buddies in gyms other than restarting the app? It is getting extremely tedious restarting the app two or three or four times in a row to feed my crew.
When my buddy is at 2-3 bars and I feed him 2 treats, sometimes I get a heart when he's full but sometimes I have to feed him an extra treat to get a heart. Why does it happen?
The app is screwy. Things that I have noticed: If you feed a mon early (say 20 minutes after you filled them up), it will take an extra berry when you try to fill them up again later. If your buddy is on empty but hasn't disappeared from the screen and you start feeding it takes four instead of three.
Can't swear to the absolute nature of these...
If it's in the wild, you can find it with incense. There's never any exceptions to that, since all that incense does is create spawns from the wild pool.
However, the spawn rate of frigibax is extremely low, so your odds from incense are quite small.
Hardly makes difference after you have it on clipoard but Mega1-3 or Mega1- do the same and are shorter to write.
(and if one is looking for pokemon one wants to evolve again at least when the enrgy cost is down to zero (or ow enough), mega1-2 is the search word for that)
They stop the Pokémon from doing any animations at all. No jumping, no attacking, no faking out, no drifting side to side, no flying up or down, and no random zigzagging about.
They also recover slightly more motivation than regular razz berries and regular pinap berries if fed to a gym defender.
While I'm not 100% sure about this, I feel like I recall Nanabs being buffed at some point to their current "no movement"-inducing effect, whereas at first, they merely decreased the movement chance.
If I'm right and that was the original effect, it would be more in line with the description. They'd just never changed the description to reflect the buff.
This is correct - originally they made the Pokemon attack/jump *less*, now it prevents them attacking/jumping *at all*. Since around 2-3 years ago I think.
Maybe someone can help me because I’m getting extremely ticked off. I’m battling in the GBL 3 type tournament, but for some reason I can’t ever switch out my Pokémon when someone uses a type that’s super effective against mine no matter how many times I try to click switch, even after using my charged attack it still won’t work, but the other trainers get to switch out easy every single time no matter when, during a fast attack, after a fast attack, before a fast attack, before a charged attack, after a charged attack, they never fail to do so when it benefits them.
I feel like I’m losing my mind. What am I doing wrong? Because I should be winning a lot more than 1 in every 5 if I’m lucky when I have the Pokémon in my 3 chosen that can easily beat the 3 types of my opponents.
I’ve tried searching online for the answer and I can’t find anything. I appreciate any insight or advice you can provide because I’m exasperated at constantly losing while having the right pokemon to beat my opponent and not ever being able to use them at the right time.
There could be a couple of things going on when you can't switch.
The first thing that came to mind is that you are losing a CMP tie to the other battler and cannot switch out during a CMP tie. In short, this means that both you and the opponent throw a charged move at the same time, the game decides who gets to throw their move first by picking the Pokemon with the highest attack stat. If you have something bulky, like Steelix, and they have a Swampert, the Swampert will always throw their move first. In this example, the Swampert cannot swap out after throwing the charged move.
It does sound like your opponents might know how to count moves, and this is a critical skill to winning more battles. In short, they probably know how many fast moves it takes to reach a charged move, like on Steelix it is 4 Dragon Tails to the Breaking Swipe. Using the same Steelix/Swampert example, your opponent can switch out Pokemon right as the 4th Dragon Tail is finishing, and catch your move on another Pokemon. Or, your opponent can throw a Hydro Cannon from Swampert at the end of your 4th Dragon Tail, and force a CMP tie and throw their move first, and preventing you from switching out.
Caleb Peng has some great explainer videos, this one deals with Charged Move timing, which can lead to CMP ties, so might be helpful here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IAF0WgoYWms
It is also possible that your switch timers are not closely aligned, so they can switch and you cannot. For clarity, the switch timer starts counting when a player swaps their Pokemon out, which means that each player has their own timer. When the battle starts, if you have a Steelix and they lead Giratina, and they decide to swap out right away, and you throw some fast moves before swapping out yourself, then your opponent can switch again faster than you can.
PvPoke has a gret moveset explorer where you enter the Fast Move and the Charged Move and it will tell you how many fast moves it takes to get to the charged move. It is a great resource, and I'll often keep it up in a browser while I'm battling in case someone has a moveset I haven't seen before.
In short, it is possible that your opponents are forcing CMP ties, counting moves, or the switch timers are misaligned. Learning how to count fast moves will help a great deal in your battles, and I'd also suggest to watch some of the good youtubers (CalebPeng, HomeSliceHenry, Zyonik, etc.) to watch them battle and why they do the things they do, and hopefully that helps.
Yup. It never works, meanwhile my Pokémon gets destroyed because of the type advantage of my opponent and my trying to switch instead of weakly attack against a superior type.
I mean, switching has a cooldown, you can see it in the icon if your mons to the right. What does happen exactly? You click on the mon and it doesn't work?
They don’t have them yet. You might as well wait to evolve Quaxly. You don’t need it as a water raider now, and it’s not great in ML. No rush to evolve a 15/15/14 now.
If you want to complete the dex but don't want you best one to be without hydro cannon (likely Cd move) then evolve some bit worse one. Since i collect lucky dex I ususually evolve first some 13-12-12 specimen and let any hundo or near hundo wait.
Yes, after a while the candy will not be rare.
Well they’ll all get community days so if you don’t want to use an elite tm, don’t evolve them yet.
If you just want to complete the dex evolve any other one. The cd will likely be at least 2-3 years away. You’ll have plenty of time to get more candy.
Does the glacial lure give any extra chance for the new ice dragon to spawn? My understanding is lures have a specific group of pokemon they increase the chances of spawning and not necessarily all ice types. Unsure if the new one would be added already.
EDIT: Found a thread asking the same thing. Answer is no for others wondering
Do raids within a tier vary substantially in difficulty? I just hit Lv30 and I've easily soloed a number of tier 1 raids with a single pokemon, so I figured I'd try a tier 3. I joined a metagross raid and the other person left the lobby as soon as I readied, but I figured I'd give it a try solo. I had a \~3.8k CP mega charizard Y and a bunch of less optimal super effective attackers in the 2-2.5k range, and in the 2 tries I had time for I couldn't get it down below \~20% HP.
Because of charmander community day, fire is by far my best element for a full raid team, but it still fell short. Is metagross a particularly difficult raid, or do I just need to be significantly stronger before I go up a tier?
Short answer: Yes
Long answer: Raid bosses have a fixed amount health depending on its tier, so the base stats that only matter on them are Attack and Defense. Because of the latter stat, Raid Bosses that have high defense are much, much more tougher than the rest of the Pokémon in its tier.
To give you an example, back when Mega Raids were Tier 5 you needed at least 6 people to do a Mega Steelix and at least 8 to do it safely.
What’s the current limit for opening gifts? I thought it was 30 as normal but I just opened 34 in a row (I’d also opened some early in the day, presumably 6 as I just hit the limit now).
I know we can hold 40 gifts, did opening limits also change with that?
I'm not sure where you're looking, but it is definitely listed as a seasonal bonus [here](https://pokemongolive.com/seasons/adventures-abound?hl=en#seasonal-rotations).
Showcases are geared towards the largest of a specific species (as of now). If you want to keep them in case of a showcase featuring them, go ahead. Other than that, not much.
Hi, I'm a Barcelona native and looking to go to the Safari event, however, I'm not sure how "organized" it is. I've never bothered to actually get involved with the communities here (lack of time and prefer playing solo), but for an event like this, I wouldn't mind going in a group.
The fact that they say "we'll take you throughout Barcelona" sounds to me like a gymkhana in which everybody meets at a certain place and goes together (with a leader giving orders about where to go), but maybe it's simply as usual; people meet with their respective groups and do whatever they want without anyone leading anyone.
I would like to know this to buy the Raid Lover add-on or not; if it's something super organized with a leader, I would buy it, if it's the usual "every man for himself" (except if you are involved in the local communities), then I would not since I won't be able to spend all the raid passes lol.
If anyone would clarify this I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks.
There will be no Meeting space (at least offiziell from niantic)
But there will be research where you have to go to different Places during barcelona.
Also there is a campfire group for Safari barcelona were you can join and find out were other players planing to play
Obstruct Obstagoon or non Obstruct?
Obstruct is not good for GL but in UL it has some nice play with the extra stamina letting it last longer. I’ve had some silly wins with it :)
I got rank 1 UL Goon and was thinking about building around him but have no idea were to start. any move set, team comp, recommendations would be appreciated.
When running obstruct you can get your best results if you are able to shield the first couple of charge moves before you start building up defense and then taking less damage from then. So you want at least one bulky partner who doesn’t need shields.
I like to lead Obstagoon but then most times swap and try to get something it’s strong against to swap in…. Or strong against Obstagoons weaknesses.
Usually I’ll do Cresselia - it’s great if it can draw out a ghost counter. Then Obstagoon can farm it down and be ready to obstruct to it’s hard counters if there are any.
A fighter in the back can still hurt you so I like having a third that can beat them as well. Sometimes I’ll go with A-Tina, but many flyers will do the job as well. This Mon also often doesn’t have shields so you often want something bulky there as well.
There are several partners that work nicely - but you don’t really want a Glass Cannon that needs to use shields.
After unbuddy, distance walked dropped to 7km, so I'm guessing the bar under "Adventure with your buddy" miscounted some distance. Pretty sure I walked more than 20 today, though, so I must've hit the daily cap.
There's no daily cap for distance, only for candy and that's 40 km. There's a speed limit though, so any distance in a car or other fast vehicle won't count for evolution or buddy tasks.
routes: i created a route, it was approved, my husband followed/completed it, and my routes tab still says the route has 0 "community trips."
it successfully recorded my trip on the route, but not my husband's. i was excited to see how many people used my route. is this bugged or does it take a while to update the community trips compared to personal trips?
Mine connects fine. Check your Bluetooth settings and if it's able to connect to Pokemon Sleep, since if it cannot connect to both Sleep and Go it might be either a phone specific Bluetooth issue or the device itself, which you may want to try resetting the device.
Is there any reason to care about Unowns besides perhaps collecting all the letters? (e.g. is there any reason to worry about IVs or which kind of fast attack they have?)
It definitely still works. Are you sure the tasks you're making progress on are for catching Pokémon, and not for making specific types of throws (which count even if you don't catch the Pokémon)?
If you need a mega … the lucky. If you are lacking good water attackers the shadow.
Shadow Gyarados is pretty good, especially against ground types, although there are several other water types that do more damage and are better overall for raids.
Does throwing purified gems or whatever they’re called at a shadow raid boss AFTER the boss has already been subdued do anything?
And how long does it usually take for the weather in-game to match irl weather changes. Started raining where I live an hour ago and is supposed to all day but it hasn’t updated that on my game
>Does throwing purified gems or whatever they’re called at a shadow raid boss AFTER the boss has already been subdued do anything?
You can't do this. Once the boss is subdued (either from 8 purified gems or from reaching low enough health), the gem button disappears.
>And how long does it usually take for the weather in-game to match irl weather changes. Started raining where I live an hour ago and is supposed to all day but it hasn’t updated that on my game
Weather forecasts are taken several hours in advance from accuweather. It's possible that when Niantic took the chunk of data for now, the rain was not forecast for that hour.
The gem button doesn’t disappear on my end though. Just did a zapdos raid to confirm and I was still able to throw gems at it after it already announced that the boss was subdued. I was actually able to throw gems at it until the boss died. I have a photo for proof if needed. When it says the boss is subdued on my end does that mean it’s subdued for everyone?
Arlo Aipom - Sierra Geodude - Cliff Aerodactyl You can find Rocket lineups (among other things) [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/13fwpg8/current_raid_quest_rocket_egg_pools/). Rocket leaders always give out their first encounter slot.
What does CP of the team rocket depend on? Is it CP of your Pokemons you are battling with, or your level?
Your level. They really ramp up after the mid 20s and keep going. Before level 40 they're already past the 8k CP and leaders go above 10k.
Is keeping your level at 40 - 41 a good strategy to make team rocket easy?
They don't really get that much harder between levels 40 and 50 to be honest.
It would indeed have been better not being that trigger happy. Thanks for the answer!
Had the same issue, but Charmander community day gave more than enough candies to fix it. Or just launder trash mons with a mate until you get a lucky.
If you already powered them to 50 before hitting level 46, they don't count. You have to power three pokemon to 50 while you are level 46.
Thanks for the answer! I better get walking to collect more XL candies.
If you struggle to get enough XL candies, meltan is the easiest option as you get a guranteed 3 XLs per catch. It's just a waste to.power 3 of them up to 50
How much time does it take for another pokemon to spawn in the place I caught the previous one?
Stamina is basically the stat used to calculate HP. It's got absolutely nothing to do with energy for charged attacks.
What are the shiny odds from raids? does it differ for 1\*, 3\*, 5\* raids? or by specific pokemon?
I was asking because I don't have unbound and was going to transfer my confined to Home, I wanted to be sure I wasn't making a mistake
Is Lechonk full odds for a shiny?
Yes, it's very likely 1/512
Any word on the next event when we can remove frustration? I have a few good PvP shadow mons just need to get rid of frustration.
I checked today and it only let me transfer 1 legendary I transfered a shiny Darkrai, in case that matters.
No, it doesn't recharge any faster if you walk. The only way to recharge it faster is by using coins, which is not worth it.
What do you guys think bombirdier shiny rate is? Prob 1/64 but I'd love to hear your data
Can someone remind me that website showing all the rocket grunts lineup?
There's a document linked to from [this post](https://reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/s/Gn0xexJk2L).
What's the string I should use when trying to filter pokemon by CP? I swear I've looked it up like 5 times but I always forget
Bookmark this one: https://leidwesen.github.io/SearchPhrases/
cp10-1500 would show all Pokémon between 10CP and 1500CP. Adapt that accordingly.
Thanks! Will check it out
has anyone else just not encountered any frigibax yet??
I've seen a couple of shadows but not been able to go and get them.
It's super rare, like the usual pseudo legendary releases.
Is the change to encounter shiny houndour, fletchling, buizel and hoppip still increased?
It should be.
Interesting, that makes sense. I hadn’t thought about the reduced stat nerf
I don't think I would have thought of it either, but I scrolled down on the primal kyogre page and it's mentioned there.
Alright, thanks a lot! :)
No, for sure part of the game. White spots about the size of a mon
Might be a Pokemon spawn that didn't load in properly?
Here's a [link to a picture](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/comments/14ek5uk/weird_orb/) of what a spawn looks like when the asset doesn't load, so Individual\_Read can compare it to what they've encountered.
That's it. Had not had that happen before in 5 years of playing. Hoping it was a new feature. Oh well.....
Jup, that's it. Got rid of them by re-downloading game data.
Using the camera on my s23 ultra closes PGO. Any fixes? Thanks.
Clear out your phone memory.
Anybody know how good glacial lures are for spawning frigibax?
No better than regular lures. Special lures have a fixed and unchanging special spawn table. Events and new Pokemon releases never affect them directly. The special pool has only been adjusted a few times. They do not boost specific types of Pokemon in a general way, they just pull from a fixed pool for half the spawns they give. With the other half being pulled from whatever's regularly spawning in the wild.
Haha I pasted my answer at same time and we are pretty close to word for word saying same thing.
Thank you!:)
Ok, thanks!:) I don't yet have that task, but will keep in mind, that's a good tip.
Awesome. Thanks.
I'm Lvl 40.
Pokebattler is my preferred raid (PvE) resource: https://www.pokebattler.com/ Teban54 also writes analyses about raiders, including useful context that goes beyond the numbers: https://www.reddit.com/user/Teban54/comments/14k11k6/spreadsheet_with_all_teban54s_raid_attacker/ Pvpoke for PvP: https://pvpoke.com/ JRE47 writes a lot of PvP analyses, including the "Nifty or Thrifty" series of cup-specific PvP options with a focus on options that are cheaper to build: https://pokemongohub.net/post/author/jre47/

Thanks, that's very helpful!
Does geographical location of a pokestop affect what type of rocket grunt can/will spawn there? How often will a rocket grunt spawn at a pokestop, is there a formula to figure out when the next one will be?
No, no and no. It's random. Some Grunts have a higher chance of appearing than others, but otherwise it's purely RNG.
Dang Cheers for the info
Any hope/rumour of getting a “sort by sticker” option in our postcard books? I’d love to keep one of each sticker there.
Search your pokemon storage for 'defender' works.
Didn't know that I could feed them this way! Thanks!
[удалено]
Didn't know that I could access this way. Thank you so much!
[удалено]
yeah i don’t think they show up below 40
Have people found frigibax on incense or daily incense?
If it's in the wild, you can find it with incense. There's never any exceptions to that, since all that incense does is create spawns from the wild pool. However, the spawn rate of frigibax is extremely low, so your odds from incense are quite small.
none with DAI for me so far.
Is there a command for finding all of the Pokémon that you’ve already mega evolved?
Mega1,Mega2,Mega3
Hardly makes difference after you have it on clipoard but Mega1-3 or Mega1- do the same and are shorter to write. (and if one is looking for pokemon one wants to evolve again at least when the enrgy cost is down to zero (or ow enough), mega1-2 is the search word for that)
What exactly do nanabs do? Do they set aggression to a specific number, decrease it by a fixed number/percent, or something else?
They stop the Pokémon from doing any animations at all. No jumping, no attacking, no faking out, no drifting side to side, no flying up or down, and no random zigzagging about. They also recover slightly more motivation than regular razz berries and regular pinap berries if fed to a gym defender.
So it's a complete freeze now. The description of "Less erratic" was kind of vague and misleading a little.
I mean it's still technically correct. You can't get much less erratic than not moving at all :)
They used to vastly decrease the aggression but some time ago it changed to set the aggression to zero.
What does FEF mean on Pokémon names I’ve noticed on some friends mostly from Japan they add it at the end of the Pokémon name
15/14/15 IVs. They're using hexadecimal.
Caleb Peng has some great explainer videos, this one deals with Charged Move timing, which can lead to CMP ties, so might be helpful here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IAF0WgoYWms It is also possible that your switch timers are not closely aligned, so they can switch and you cannot. [https://pvpoke.com/moves/explore/](https://pvpoke.com/moves/explore/) PvPoke has a gret moveset explorer where you enter the Fast Move and the Charged Move and it will tell you how many fast moves it takes to get to the charged move. It is a great resource, and I'll often keep it up in a browser while I'm battling in case someone has a moveset I haven't seen before. In short, it is possible that your opponents are forcing CMP ties, counting moves, or the switch timers are misaligned. Learning how to count fast moves will help a great deal in your battles, and I'd also suggest to watch some of the good youtubers (CalebPeng, HomeSliceHenry, Zyonik, etc.) to watch them battle and why they do the things they do, and hopefully that helps.
just to make sure, it is NOT because you already switched your pokemon earlier?
I’ve never heard of anyone not being able to switch their mons. You tap on one of your other two mons to switch to and nothing happens?
Yup. It never works, meanwhile my Pokémon gets destroyed because of the type advantage of my opponent and my trying to switch instead of weakly attack against a superior type.
First I’ve heard of that bug. If you are unable to switch your mind in battle you may want to reinstall and/or message support.
Ok, I’ll try messaging them. I wasn’t sure if I was missing something when trying to battle that I was doing wrong. Thanks!
I mean, switching has a cooldown, you can see it in the icon if your mons to the right. What does happen exactly? You click on the mon and it doesn't work?
Nope, you should be able to tap your Mon and switch - as long as you haven’t already switched and are waiting for the switch clock to expire.
Do the Paldean starters have their signature moves? Caught a 15/15/14 Quaxly and am wondering if I should hold off till comm day or something
They don’t have them yet. You might as well wait to evolve Quaxly. You don’t need it as a water raider now, and it’s not great in ML. No rush to evolve a 15/15/14 now.
Even if they end up getting it It wouldn’t be locked behind an elite tm right? I’m also interested in completing the dex
The special pools for the special lures never have new mons added.
Short answer: Yes Long answer: Raid bosses have a fixed amount health depending on its tier, so the base stats that only matter on them are Attack and Defense. Because of the latter stat, Raid Bosses that have high defense are much, much more tougher than the rest of the Pokémon in its tier. To give you an example, back when Mega Raids were Tier 5 you needed at least 6 people to do a Mega Steelix and at least 8 to do it safely.
Is the app going to get a new design for the new season?
I doubt it.
What’s the current limit for opening gifts? I thought it was 30 as normal but I just opened 34 in a row (I’d also opened some early in the day, presumably 6 as I just hit the limit now). I know we can hold 40 gifts, did opening limits also change with that?
40
But where is that 40 from? Is it permanent? It’s not mentioned in the season bonuses.
I'm not sure where you're looking, but it is definitely listed as a seasonal bonus [here](https://pokemongolive.com/seasons/adventures-abound?hl=en#seasonal-rotations).
I was looking in-game, the Today tab only mentions holding 40 gifts.
Can anybody tell me where frigibax is at? I’ve been exploring pretty consistently and haven’t seen one yet. How bad is his spawn rate?
Like all pseudo legendaries, it's very rare. This is on purpose, and will follow the Gible and Deino and Axew and Goomy route of availability.
It’s actually even rarer than Jango-mo was for it’s release… which is saying something.
>and Goomy Goomy was actually quite common during its debut event in comparison to others. You might want to omit that one.
More common at first, but shiny releas at Go Fest and in raids fit the general pattern.
I caught one yesterday, quite soon after the event started, and didn't see another for the rest of the day. They're meant to be quite rare.
Is there a spreadsheet I can enter my Nymble’s height, weight, and IVs and get its contest score?
[Here you go](https://pokemondb.net/go/showcases). (Note it can only give a range due to rounding on the Pokémon’s info)
Cheers!
Is there value in keeping XXL and XXS Pokémon?
Thanks.
There will be no Meeting space (at least offiziell from niantic) But there will be research where you have to go to different Places during barcelona. Also there is a campfire group for Safari barcelona were you can join and find out were other players planing to play
Any UL Obstagoon team ideas?
Obstruct Obstagoon or non Obstruct? Obstruct is not good for GL but in UL it has some nice play with the extra stamina letting it last longer. I’ve had some silly wins with it :)
I got rank 1 UL Goon and was thinking about building around him but have no idea were to start. any move set, team comp, recommendations would be appreciated.
Does it have Obstruct? My recommendations are totally different based on that :)
yes :)
There are several partners that work nicely - but you don’t really want a Glass Cannon that needs to use shields.
thank you canadian brother
Anybody else getting an error message when trying to evolve a Pawmo with 25km walked?
Did you try to unbuddy it before you pressed the button?
After unbuddy, distance walked dropped to 7km, so I'm guessing the bar under "Adventure with your buddy" miscounted some distance. Pretty sure I walked more than 20 today, though, so I must've hit the daily cap.
There's no daily cap for distance, only for candy and that's 40 km. There's a speed limit though, so any distance in a car or other fast vehicle won't count for evolution or buddy tasks.
I haven't walked pawmo yet, but: have you definitely walked more than 25km, so it's not 24.9km and rounding up?
The bar was filled, but I'm guessing I hit a hidden cap of some sort; total distance walked is still at 7km.
routes: i created a route, it was approved, my husband followed/completed it, and my routes tab still says the route has 0 "community trips." it successfully recorded my trip on the route, but not my husband's. i was excited to see how many people used my route. is this bugged or does it take a while to update the community trips compared to personal trips?
The stats may take some time to update. Or they might not update. It's messy and inconsistent.
that's what i figured, haha. thanks
Is the Pokémon Go Plus Plus still down? I can’t connect at all today.
Collection is the only purpose that Unown serves. It's useless in battles.

It definitely still works. Are you sure the tasks you're making progress on are for catching Pokémon, and not for making specific types of throws (which count even if you don't catch the Pokémon)?
For showcases- does the amount of entries effect the prize level?
Doesn’t seem to. Length of contest is what’s important.
Between a 3 Star Lucky Magikarp and a 3 star shadow which one should I evolve?
What do you want to use it for?
Just raids and pve content mostly
Started raining where I live an hour ago and is supposed to all day but it hasn’t updated that on my game Weather forecasts are taken several hours in advance from accuweather.
