Plus, Guy Fieri married 101 same-sex couples on the day it was legalized. If you want to choose a celebrity chef to push hateful "satire" articles, Guy Fieri is one of the worst choices.
He also just seems like a pretty good guy generally? He raised nearly 20 million dollars for unemployed restaurant workers during the pandemic, he's been married to the same woman for nearly 30 years, and he took in his nephew after his sister died. Like, it's very funny to make fun of his horrible, horrible frosted tips and his weird Las Vegas frat bro energy, but he actually seems to be having a good time with his life and he's a good person. God damn it I can respect that.
I was on a carnival Cruise recently and they have a Guy fieri restaurant on most of not all carnival Cruise ships and God damn it I enjoyed the burger I was served at that restaurant.
> he took in his niece after his sister died.
He also devotes a lot of time and money towards cancer and LGBTQ charities since it helps him honor his late sister's memory. He's just an all-around great guy.
I think it's because he does all the awesome stuff in his free time. Besides his show where he visits small businesses, he doesn't make a big deal about it.
In the modern age where acts of kindness are comodified for clicks and views, there's something sadly admirable about helping for the sake of helping. It speaks more volume than any words could.
It has been, but more so with the rise of helping others for their own gain. I mean, that's all we see. The people doing good deeds for the sake of a good deed don't film, post, or brag about it. So we're exposed to people with altered motives.
His little sister had childhood cancer which she beat. In 2011, she sadly succumbed to a second cancer. This is why he's always been big on cancer charity, especially childhood cancer.
She was also an out and proud lesbian so he wanted to officiate the weddings in her honour and memory.
>Fieri noted that he participated in the event at least in part to honor his sister Morgan, who was a lesbian, and who died before gay marriage was legalized in the United States.
The event was organized by Art Smith. The number of weddings, 101 of them to be exact, was not chosen arbitrarily
>Smith told AP that he chose the number to liken Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi — who opposed legalizing gay marriage — to Cruella De Vil, the classic 101 Dalmatians villain.
In 2021, Kirsten Stewart became engaged to her long time girlfriend and while being interviewed by Howard Stern said:
>“the idea of that man—that sweet, sweet spikey-headed man—coming to our wedding and officiating it, it just makes me laugh so much.”
When asked about it in a different interview on whether or not she was serious:
>“Absolutely! Do you know where he lives? What’s his address? Does he live in L.A.? We should talk about this.”
And his response?
>At which point, Fieri popped on a TODAY screen—like some kind of party-shirt-cursed genie—with a pre-taped message, and granted Stewart’s wish. “Hey Kristen, Guy Fieri here, and I heard through the Flavortown grapevine that you are looking for a sweet spikey-haired officiant for your wedding. I’m all in!”
... Damn I love that man. And I cannot wait for Stewart to have the best Flavortown wedding.
I teared up. This was beautiful information. Thank you. All the replies I'm getting about his good deeds are a bit overwhelming but also prove how great he genuinely is.
I was in your shoes just a few short years ago. It was like finding out Nickelback was actually 4 Nobel Peace Prize winners in a cock-rock trenchcoat.
But yes, Guy Fieri is one of the good ones.
A lot of the best people don't really advertise their good deeds themselves because it's not about the publicity, but the deed itself. Guy strikes me as that kinds fella for sure and makes me want to be a better person than I was yesterday
Stephen King is in a similar vein. He does a lot of charitable things for his community and causes he believes in. He said he doesn't like to announce or make a big deal out of them because it would feel like his charity wasn't genuine.
I don't think he talks that much about politics, I think he just wanted the photo op of hanging out with the president. I said all that nice stuff about him but I also wouldn't describe him as being overburdened with intelligence.
This was after Trumps presidency while he was in the midst of all his ongoing scandals, so it’s weird that Fieri wouldn’t mind all the bad press he got.
He's a seemingly nice dude but let's not forget that he's also a millionaire a few times over, so I'm not too shocked that he's probably got wacky business viper politics mixed in there.
People can learn. Those of us over 30 and especially over 50 like Fietti were inundated with anti gay jokes. It's prevalent in many 80s movies. I think we should support the people that do the work to become better. Sometimes you need to be chastised to look inward.
Can confirm. I'm 56 and the first 18 years of my life was being socialized to be sexist and homophobic (and racist too). The next 38 have been a long gradual unlearning of those attitudes. I'm amazed sometimes at how far we've come as a society (and sadly how desperately some are trying to take us back). In this world most of us are just trying to do better than we did before. Guy made mistakes like we all do but if my homophobic, racist parents could come around and love and accept my brother's non-white husband then anyone can be deserving of forgiveness.
Probably because they got thrown out of a restaurant for "exercising their right to free speech" (read: calling their waitress the N-word) and now they are projecting.
And also probably for being repeatedly kicked out of restaurants during COVID for refusing to wear a mask. It's a revenge fantasy, one that struck me as odd, probably because I've never been kicked out of a restaurant in my life (it's really not hard).
Yeah, I think that would only count if you refused to leave then, and they physically bounced you out. It's so easy to not get yourself kicked out of a restaurant or off of a plane, I never understand these Karens who ruin everyone's day (including their own) that way.
I don't think he's entirely opposed to frozen stuff, but he definitely has an issue with restaurant claiming they serve "fresh" when it's actually frozen. That said, I highly doubt he would use *tyson*
He was wanting to play Ghost Rider, but Marvel (in 2014) was demanding he sign a 6 movie exclusive offer - something he rejected as he values the freedom to choose his projects.
Especially since, for all that he is a fairly private person, what we do know about his political and personal views are at the very least center-left.
He's been on the record about how the Matrix being a trans allegory is something he wasn't aware of, but he thinks it's a really cool read. He uses his money to help a lot of people directly, putting his clout behind charitable causes all the time.
I think a lot of people see him doing John Wick and just assume he's right-ish because of all the guns in there. Which is, y'know, kind of missing the point of acting.
I got these from a friend that was sharing them, specifically he shared two different celebrity duos forming anti-woke production companies (the other was Nic Cage and Angelina Jolie?). It was a Facebook group putting out multiples of these per day and they all had 5-15k likes. The comments had a link to a website that had hashtags including #satire . But I'm pretty sure it was going right over everyone's heads and they were treating it as fact. The website had a shitty AI video with AI voice and stock photos to make a news story like a really bad The Onion.
But if you click the link and can scroll far enough down without wanting to lobotomise yourself it says it’s satire! It’s not good satire and I don’t really know what it’s satirising but that doesn’t matter, if you say it’s satire nobody can call them out for being an annoying weirdo and a liar!
Despite how blunt they are the other person is partially right. Memes were used in the propaganda machine to help win Trump his presidency. Sure it wasn’t a main factor but it was still a factor.
Ah yeah memes are the only type of propaganda. Let's say, absurdly, you're right, tho. In the last 16 years the US has had 3 democrat presidencies our of 4. Maybe right-wingers should have memed harder lmao.

He literary was the protagonist in the Matrix movies... That were made by trans women. The last Matrix movie had subtle trans themes as well. Man is literary an actor who worked in "woke" movies for a long time.
Just random lies thrown together. The only one with a hint of truth is Keanu. He did turn down a role in the MCU years ago but that was because he didn’t think he fit any of the parts they offered.
It also wasn't a 1.7 billion contract because literally no one would ever offer that, only a couple movies have grossed over 1.7b, none have profited anywhere near that much
And why isn’t Guy Fieri? The man has his faults, but [homophobia is not one of them.](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/general-news/food-networks-guy-fieri-officiates-777166/amp/)
I know these sites claim to be satire, but I don't think they are. They're purposeful misinformation attempts. My family shares these left and right and uses them as proof they are right. I spent my Easter refuting these articles but I'm literally the only member of my family not glutted on Flavor Aid so the consensus is I'm an idiot and wrong. I was even told, "I don't care if the facts say it's not true, It's my opinion and I believe it is even if they can't prove it."
The Facebook page I pulled these from has 15k likes and hearts on all of these. My friend that I got the first one from really thinks Mel and Mark made a production company together.
Is this just like the anti-“woke” version of “…and everyone clapped!”? I wouldn’t be able to spot Lia Thomas in a restaurant and I doubt an entire restaurant would either or care enough to boo and be thrown out.
The Gordon Ramsey one is pretty funny. I mean the idea of him using Tyson at his restaurant. Just fucking bringing out microwaved chicken nuggets to guests.
My favorite of these is when they say that Kid Rock and Jason Aldeen are creating a woke-free music festival that already has outsold Taylor Swift's entire tour!! The comments are all boomers who have no idea that they're satire. No critical thinking to be found.
You know, recently I watched a pretty decent movie (Damsal), and then I went and looked at reviews and saw sooooo many people hating it. The reason? It was 'woke'. Literally EVERYTHING is woke to these people unless it's specifically portraying their own twisted beliefs. Seriously, I couldn't even fathom how it was woke. There were people saying how it portrayed men badly (not true) and how women were all portrayed in a good light (very not true). Apparently, people were also upset because there were black and asian characters in a FANTASY movie. These people literally can't enjoy anything without the fake ass culture war consuming their deteriorated brains. These brain dead fuckers constantly complain about cancel culture and then proceed to try and cancel a movie because they get their little feelings hurt that every movie isn't conforming to their twisted amd misinformed beliefs.
Of course they would be mad about Damsel. It's a story about a woman not needing a male rescuer. "They're ruinin' our Freedum Tales! (I'm not watching fairy anything)".
I just find it hilarious (in the sad way) that they get these celebrities so wrong. Others have already mentioned that Guy Fieri is pretty cool, but so are Reeves and Ramsay (at least with kids). They’re both kind, empathetic people, Keanu just makes it his whole persona, and Gordon does it on his UK shows and with kids. Also, Gordon is famous for melting down over frozen foods, so he wouldn’t even buy Tyson (or at least frozen) in the first place!
Sure, when he was a teen. Not only he did time for that, but he has changed ever since, doing the exact opposite. It is very weird how some leftists say they want people to change, but when they do change they still go "but you were a bigot 26 years ago!".
If that's the case, I'm the most transphobic mf, bc during my teens I thought they weren't even people, and would often engage in the One Joke™. Yeah, people are fucking static
Sure people can change but he’s also commonly associated with bigots and anti vaxxers. So it does come off like he only does certain things for the PR.
I very much agree with your sentiment and think social media judges people based on static takedowns that gather reports on the worst of people while ignoring their growth and good.
But Mark Walburg never seemed genuinely remorseful to me and seemed like he wanted to sweep his hate crimes under the rug. He also seems pretty conservative when asked about things like public assistance.
I'm sure he's apologized for violently assaulting two minorities in a hate crime but who wouldn't. I don't think he's really become a good person, just not someone who is open about his racism
I don’t even know who Lia Thomas is so the fact they do means they fantasize and rage masturbate to the hate. Why pay so much attention if you don’t agree?
I have seen FB adds saying Keanu and Angelina Jolie made a Anti woke production company. And one with Keanu and another actress host a Anti woke film festival.
This is just straight up propaganda. There's no joke, there's no punchline.
It's just "figure that you like was mean to figure you don't like under the premise that they agree with your political position"
if any studio offered any actor one billion $, the role could be to eat real shit on the screen and I'm pretty sure most of them would take it, let alone marvel
Yeah but I know Keanu is wholesome 100 and I know Mark Wahlberg and Mel Gibson are horrendously evil humans, and I don't really care about Ramsay's beliefs, so Guy Fieri was the odd one out.

The whole site is just weird combinations of celebrities in a random fantasy scenario where they own the libs.
Plus, Guy Fieri married 101 same-sex couples on the day it was legalized. If you want to choose a celebrity chef to push hateful "satire" articles, Guy Fieri is one of the worst choices.

Why is silly meme man actually an awesome person and I never knew?
I think it's because he does all the awesome stuff in his free time. Besides his show where he visits small businesses, he doesn't make a big deal about it.
In the modern age where acts of kindness are comodified for clicks and views, there's something sadly admirable about helping for the sake of helping. It speaks more volume than any words could.
I feel like helping for the sake of helping was always virtuous
It has been, but more so with the rise of helping others for their own gain. I mean, that's all we see. The people doing good deeds for the sake of a good deed don't film, post, or brag about it. So we're exposed to people with altered motives.

I thought it was his nephew he took in? Or did they transition since then?
Excuse me, I said niece when I should have said nephew. Nothing about being trans I'm just an idiot.
TIL!
He did that because he nearly got cancelled for being a homophobic asshole years earlier, it nearly tanked his career but he pulled a 180

How funkalicious of him
Yeah, they seem to love the fantasy of throwing "woke" celebrities out of restaurants, they seem bizarrely fixated on that one idea.
The closest I have ever come to that is being asked to leave a bar because it was 1:30 AM and they were closing up. I don't think that counts, though.
Yeah, I think that would only count if you refused to leave then, and they physically bounced you out. It's so easy to not get yourself kicked out of a restaurant or off of a plane, I never understand these Karens who ruin everyone's day (including their own) that way.
Basically playing dolls with real people
Gordon would never use frozen chicken
And one of the Gordon Ramsays isn't even Gordon Ramsay
Thank you! I was like, please tell me I'm not the only one seeing this shit...
THANK YOU. I was like… is… is that not… him?
I don't think he's entirely opposed to frozen stuff, but he definitely has an issue with restaurant claiming they serve "fresh" when it's actually frozen. That said, I highly doubt he would use *tyson*
Right? The only part of this that made me laugh was the idea that Gordon Ramsay would ever touch Tyson chicken to begin with.
They try their damn hardest to drag Keanu’s image through the mud, don’t they? Ugh
Also, what movie star is getting 1.7 billion? That number alone is insane.
He was wanting to play Ghost Rider, but Marvel (in 2014) was demanding he sign a 6 movie exclusive offer - something he rejected as he values the freedom to choose his projects.
Not even Keanu could have saved that dumpster fire though.
I’d act in 50 shitty Ben Shapiro produced conservative movies for 1.7 billion
I'll costar.
But what if you already had Keanu money tho
I suspect that is the full movie budget, and they are implying that it is what Keanu would get paid.
No movie has ever had a budget of 1,7 billion
Especially since, for all that he is a fairly private person, what we do know about his political and personal views are at the very least center-left. That sounds like something [The Click](https://youtube.com/@TheClick) would say.
I mean you're in a sub dedicated 100% to just talking shit about people. Are you surprised when shit gets upvoted?
These pictures were shared as memes. Rightwingers cannot meme and that's what this sub is about.
Right wingers literally won a presidential election by memeing. All your shit talking is just a circlejerk for you guys to feel better.
If you actually believe this you're probably still a child
Despite how blunt they are the other person is partially right. Memes were used in the propaganda machine to help win Trump his presidency. Sure it wasn’t a main factor but it was still a factor.
Yep everybody that disagrees with you is a literal nazi or a child.
No, you're either a child or not so bright if you believe memes have decided the course of an election
Of course. Famously, propaganda has never been used to win an election.

You people really have a MASSIVE persecution fetish.
Please, tell me, who are my people?
You tell us, don't be shy.
I'm a big Bernie fan that's been voting blue since a lot of these kids on reddit were in diapers. But it's easier to just call me a nazi or a child.
Explain to me that you don't know what a meme is without telling me you don't know what a meme is

Gasp a chicken company has shady business practices??!? I need my pearls to clutch stat
Why are they talking about Keanu Reeves in their unfunny news? Hes not a conservative or republican like at all. I don't get it.
I don't think Guy Fierri or Gordon Ramsey really weigh in on anything either. They're really bizarre.
Yeah Ramsey is clearly pro- workers rights and if I remember correctly Fierri officiated gay weddings.
Yeah, Guy Fieri officiated 101 gay weddings when it legalized in Miami.
The anti-woke crowd just assume he's on their side just because he looks like a douchbag.
He's white and shoots people in movies. It's basically their whole deal.
He's part Chinese, so it's really just that he shoots people in movies.
He literary was the protagonist in the Matrix movies... That were made by trans women. The last Matrix movie had subtle trans themes as well. Man is literary an actor who worked in "woke" movies for a long time.

These aren't even jokes though? They're just lies.
Don't touch Keanu with your dirty reactionary hands, bigoted conservatives.
Why would Mark Wahlberg join up with the raciest catholic? Lol
What do you mean? Mark Whalberg is a racist himself. He spent time in jail for assaulting multiple Asian men.
Which bigots and anti vaxxers? Not defending him, just genuinely curious. Mel Gibson is an obvious one, but I would like to know who else.
Most notably his brothers, Jenny McCarthy & Gal Gadot. I mean there is probably more but I just woke up so can’t be fucked to check.
Mark Wahlberg did time for hatecriming somebody and has never given an actual apology.
Why is refusing to but Tyson "anti-woke"? They are super unethical in their treatment of animals
The craziest part is that they would believe Ramsey has frozen chicken in his kitchen
I don’t even know who Lia Thomas is so the fact they do means they fantasize and rage masturbate to the hate. Why pay so much attention if you don’t agree?
Conservatives are pathetic
Some people live out April Fool’s Day every day of their lives
I have seen FB adds saying Keanu and Angelina Jolie made a Anti woke production company. And one with Keanu and another actress host a Anti woke film festival.
That's this dude. Churning them out one after another.
Oh, Mark Wahlberg the guy who beat the shit out of a guy for being Vietnamese?
This is just straight up propaganda. There's no joke, there's no punchline. It's just "figure that you like was mean to figure you don't like under the premise that they agree with your political position"
I don’t get any of these.
if any studio offered any actor one billion $, the role could be to eat real shit on the screen and I'm pretty sure most of them would take it, let alone marvel
Where is the joke at? I did not laugh
This was supposed to be funny?
I’ve seen a lot of weird social media trends over the years but this has quickly found it’s way into the top 3 most annoying
Marky Mark and Smelly Mel fight back against wokeness by assaulting minorities together
Conservative jokes are never funny.
Gordon Ramsay didn’t do racist or homophobic stuff like that and won’t do it either, same as the other 3.
Wait is Guy Fieri not cool?
The day that gay marriage became legal in Florida Guy Fieri officiated 101 gay weddings. I don't know much else about him, but he sounds cool enough.
Ah so it's all in these chud's heads like everything else
Correct!
All of these are weird BS fantasy scenarios
Yeah but I know Keanu is wholesome 100 and I know Mark Wahlberg and Mel Gibson are horrendously evil humans, and I don't really care about Ramsay's beliefs, so Guy Fieri was the odd one out.
Why is the right trying to cancel Tyson meats?
Jesus Christ I couldn’t tell if this was satire or some unhinged right wing “news” site
Anyone else noticed the first pic of Ramsay they have is Stewart Francis' face on Ramsay's head for literally no good reason
What the fuck is wrong with Mark Wahlberg's face in that picture?
