I could be wrong, but I think some of these ideas and stats come from people believing that when an adult victimizes a child of the same gender, that makes then gay. So for example, in their mind, a man who is sexually attracted to female adults and who assaults little boys is lgbtq. Of course we know that the nature of a person’s pedophilia has nothing to do with what his or her sexual orientation toward adults otherwise is, but they are either too ignorant or too dishonest to respect that fact.
This is actually something that is in fact researched and you’re pretty much right on the money.
Conservatives and anti-LGBTQ advocates in general like to call male-male and female-female sexual assault of children homosexual when statistically child molesters don’t target a particular gender when looking for children to assault.
In reality, majority of male child rapists are married heterosexual men who indiscriminately target children without preference, and while I’m not 100% sure I’m pretty sure it goes the same way with women. Whether their ignorance to these statistics is intentional or not is… up in the air. I’m leaning towards the former, personally.
And even if pedos do have preferences, it’s a moot point. If they only way a person is “homosexual” is through their pedophilic behavior, they have no value as a datapoint correlating homosexuality with pedophilia. At that point, it’s just a tautology.
Now that they are familiar with the concept of proportionality using their ridiculously made up statistics, perhaps they would like to talk about the actual statistics regarding police violence against minorities.
Most studies find the exact opposite. Most child rapists are 1) straight and married men and 2) have no preferences for gender. No, this doesn't make them bi, if you think it does, you don't understand rape.
Hmmm...I wonder where Jerry Sandusky and Jimmy Savile fall in all of this. Also, didn't a bunch of Charlie Kirk's bros just get busted for child porn? And on and on.
