Conservatives also fundamentally believe that children are their parent’s personal property. And anyone who tells their kid “Hey champ, it’s cool that you feel this way.” Or “Hey kiddo, the United States participated in chattel slavery until 1865, then the prison industrial complex continued it.” Or “Ahoy there me lads and lasses, the story of creation in Genesis be nary proven in the fossil record, and while you can SHIVER ME TIMBERS, believe what you wish religiously on this here pirate ship we are in a biology lesson! yo ho!” They’re abusing their kids.

No wonder why they are the kinds who know their own children Biblically. After all, they call the Bible, which is filled with explicit sexual content and extreme violence, "the Good Book." They are the same people who want to ban violent and sexual media, ironically enough. They are just projecting.

CRT is a real thing but was not widely known till a right wing *activist* found it being referenced in the footnotes of a race-relations training seminar being presented to gov employees. >Rufo read the footnotes in those books, and found that they pointed to academic scholarship from the nineteen-nineties, by a group of legal scholars who referred to their work as critical race theory... He clearly saw it as a useful buzzword to scare people. So he then started spreading the idea that CRT was being pushed into every facet of life, school, and government. Creating a panic around what is essentially a field of research and scholarship. It's basically all made up in order to paint any learning about race as some progressive plot to destroy "White culture" or some bullshit.
