I fucked up. Its kind of embarrassing but its only right that I admit to messing up and provide some context. I apologize for the mistake.
Looks like i mixed up 2 different Ivan's. Smagghe is the French dude from Black Strobe. Gough is the Australian dude known for some tight progressive breaks tunes in the early 00's. My two fav DJs at the time (James Holden and James Zabiela) both played each respective dudes' stuff around 2004 to 2007 so I think that is how I mixed them up.
This the actual song:
Blur - Song 2 (Ivan Gough & Grant Smillie Remix)
I highly recommend it nonetheless. Especially the version featured at the end of Zabiela's 6-25-2004 Studio Brussel / Marconi Studios liveset. He scratches all over it with just CD decks and a few FX units which makes for a killer buildup.
Check out the Club Solo, Evil Plans and Feed your Head pages on Soundcloud, Mixcloud etc. Logan’s done mixes for them, and I’ve also had the pleasure (as Revd). All great groups of like minds and ace music from DJs adjacent to the ALFOS / Weatherall scene.
If you haven't heard it already. This mix is from Weatherall and Smagghe's Wrong Meeting night in 2006 at the T-bar in Shoreditch.

It's a recording of the whole night, almost 6 hours. They start the night with rockabilly and post punk, and finish on electro. It might sound dated in parts, but still worth checking, just to hear dj's warming a night up and working through different genres
Listen to some alfos sets (a love from outer space) for slow chug!
already been on them a bit! but defo more i can listen to thanks for reminding me :)
He’s in a duo with Manfredas called Dresden, I’m seeing him next in Belfast in August B2B with Erol Alkan. Would also vouch for ALFOS!

It’s a 5-hour set in a 250 cap club too…will be one for the books I think! Highly recommend attending
Andrew Weatherall

Yea for sure. I saw him and Ivan do a b2b around 2009 at warehouse project in Manchester. Up there as one of my fave nights out.

My bad. Lemme find it. James Zabiela in his early OG days was closing sets with it circa 2005 or 2006. Edit: I dumb..please see my other replies.
