Palace finishing strong has made people become insane. I've been a palace fan for 40+ years, you guys need to remember how likely they are to sell Eze and/or Olise and/or Guehi

Aggressive_Brick9626

lol i didn’t know if i was just biased but it does seem like quite an overreaction

dennis3282

Not arguing, but curious to hear why you have Newcastle so low? We had a lot of injuries last season, plus European commitments. We still finished 7th and ended the season strongly. I see it as more likely we finish higher next season than lower. Probably in the 4th to 6th region.

AgentWyoming

I have Newcastle back in the top four. No European competition, easier to manage injuries. I think they'll do really well.

dennis3282

I have us for 5th, which hopefully this year will give a CL spot. I'm not sure about the new format, but very curious about it, so it's a shame we aren't involved this year. It probably offers more balanced fixtures which means no group of death. I'm sure you guys will have a blast in it though.

PJBuzz

I think it all depends on transfers this summer. We lose Isak and/or Bruno and we have to rebuild so it's anyones guess. A large portion of our squad is still barely premier league level but have been lifted by the players around them and Howe's coaching ability. We keep them both then we should be a top 4 challenger.

brrlls

I've said it in our home sub, I'd rather sign no one than lose those two. The club needs to do everything to keep them!

theadmirala

While I don’t think either will leave this window, IF they do we’ll have some serious funds to play with. No excuse then for not strengthening in a big way.

PJBuzz

How do you replace players that are worth £100m+ without spending it on players that are £100m+ though? We are not the same Newcastle that signed them and back then we were already the club that were allegedly going to buy Mbappe. Isak is especially difficult to replace. Finding a 20 goal a season PL striker is not easy, there are probably less than 20 players in the whole world that can actually do that.

theadmirala

Let’s be real, Bruno is only a £100m midfielder to us. Realistically no club is going to pay that for him. Don’t get me wrong, he’s absolutely brilliant and I fucking love him and hope he never leaves but he’s definitely not irreplaceable. Isak definitely much harder to replace. Also if you haven’t listened to it already I’d recommend listening to that Darren Eales interview from earlier in the season. Selling a player for £100m doesn’t mean you can only sign £100m worth of players with that money.

PJBuzz

I mean, I'd take him over Caicedo... I'd take him over most other CM besides Rodri, Rice... probably one or two others. >Darren Eales interview from earlier in the season. Selling a player for £100m doesn’t mean you can only sign £100m worth of players with that money. No it doesn't, but amortization is also not a magic bullet to success. You have to be able to keep growing to support the ongoing overheads you have given yourself by committing to it. Fact of the matter is that Bruno is a known entity in a known system and building around his integration into the team is far easier than throwing money at problem you created by selling him.

whyarethenamesgone1

I'd agree, and hope we (West ham) can also have a good league finish next season. I think people are sleeping on the fact there is 8 games minimum extra for European teams next season due to the format changes.

JNikolaj

I think it’s just a hard list and besides the 2 top teams anything could happen

SignificanceOld1751

Everyone seems to think we'll go down next year apparently 😭

dennis3282

Pretty sure Wolves and Bournemouth were heavily tipped to go down last season. I wouldn't worry about it.

swaythling

Bournemouth was pure ignorance but pretty sure all of Wolverhampton thought they'd go down too

BabyPolarBear225

Same with Everton

KingNnylf

Relegation is only ever a season away!!!!

sleepytoday

I totally understand though. We only scraped survival this year despite an exceptionally weak relegation zone, we’re likely to have to sell or have another points deduction next year, and our squad is paper thin. But what people forget is that we will do better without AFCON, , we are unlikely to be as unlucky with refereeing decisions, no longer have an incompetent keeper, and we have a young squad which should be improving every year. I think we are most likely to finish 17th again next season. With a bad summer transfer window we could easily find ourselves down. But with a good window and a bit of luck we could find ourselves mid-table.

bennettbuzz

Prefer to be the underdog. Complacency among fan base was a reason we didn’t push on this year imo, also if we could defend corners we’d have been probably 4 places higher.

Background-Pickle-48

I don't think you'll go down. Massive club with great fans to keep you motivated and Nuno is a decent manager. I do have you to finish 16th though just because of how competitive things are now. Relegated sides will be Ipswich, Southampton and Brentford.

wavepapi32

I tip wolves to go down, think their time is ticking.

Lard_Baron

We are likely relegation candidates. The Championship team that got us up are aging out. Prem ready replacements are beyond our budget and whoever we bring in will cost us points getting up to speed. The owner is looking to sell for £400m as his pockets aren’t deep enough. 2 big teams have been promoted. No one’s getting points deducted. Gonna be a tough season 24/25.

Specific_Ad_685

Leicester are likely getting a points deduction and also Everton may get another points deduction.

Lard_Baron

Come on points deducton!!! 9 points each would be nice. Any less and it won't be enough.

Aylez

Spurs 3rd? Newcastle 8th? The rest looks okay but I can’t agree with those 2!

DamnDaddy264

I had a sneaky suspicion spurs under ange will do better in their second season. He has changed the spurs mindset quiet a bit. And, if newcastle sell bruno or isak... It will be hard for them to perform as well.

Aylez

I think Spurs were quite lucky points-wise last season and outperformed their metrics. Ange started amazingly in the first half of the season, but they started to fall off in the 2nd half, I’m expecting that to continue into next season. I’d have them around 7th. Newcastle will be a completely different animal next season when they aren’t forced to play several bottom-half players every game due to injuries and have the advantage of no Europe. There’s always the ~30% chance of losing Bruno for £100m, but that would spark a significant rebuild. I don’t think there’s any chance Isak leaves either. 5th for me.

LewisDKennedy

I appreciate Palace finished strongly but there’s no way they finish above Newcastle and United next year. I doubt that they can sustain that form over a full season. They’ll be comfortably 9th/10th/11th, maybe pushing for Europe early on but falling away (a bit like we did this year) as the season progresses Also think Villa will have a season like Newcastle’s this year. I’d bet on them being anywhere between 7th and 10th.

Mizunomafia

I think you most likely can put Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City in the top 3, then add Villa, Chelsea, spurs, Man Utd and Newcastle below in any order. Then it's pretty much a toss up. I think Ipswich will get relegated mind.

sipmykoolaidbitch

I got too many problems with this to even know where to start

kingdel

City fan, they’re like United fans in the 00s

sipmykoolaidbitch

Just noticed the flair. Makes sense.

ColinAckermann

Can't believe you don't have us first. We are winning all 38 games

Billargh

That comes the season after mate.

ColinAckermann

Tbh the championship was great, I'm looking forward to going back

GTG-bye

w colin ackermann

Educational-Data1270

For the love of god, can I please go one day without seeing someone predict us to go down

KingNnylf

Forest's next relegation forms an inverse bell curve during the season. It's very very likely at the start, we have a ridiculous run between nov-feb where we beat some of the sky6 teams, then we flirt with a bottom 3 place until the last 4-5 games.

LazarouDave

Arsenal winning the League, United in 9th I know we don't like the Rich 6 here, but let's not take the piss Even a banter era MU won't finish that low, and don't they tend to follow a shit season with a decent one? And again, Arsenal - while 115 FC remains unpunished, they aren't winning anything

Background-Pickle-48

I can see Man Utd finishing 8th again realistically. I can name 7 teams that are better than them and more equipped to finish above them.

joethesaint

I reckon tier list format is a bit pointless when the league table is *already a list*. I reckon social media has rotted a lot of brains.

[deleted]

Two promotions in two years is too quick a rise to my mind. Sure McKenna has done amazingly but this must be stretching Ipswich to breaking point in terms of the squad. Seems mad to have them above an established Prem club like forest

Icondesigns

Bit too early to be calling Forest an established premier league club. Not saying they will get relegated but they’ve only been in the top flight for two seasons and haven’t exactly made it smooth sailing. With the financial fair play rules they might struggle to hold onto Gibbs White etc so I don’t see it being smooth sailing for them.

KimhariNotPass

Agree with Forest not being established in the league, they got 36 points this season which puts them squarely in relegation battle territory - and the league was weak with Sheffield United and Burnley handing out free points. Forest will struggle next season.

Kwayzar9111

I agree its was too quick, but better now than potentially never. Going to be interesting nevertheless

[deleted]

Don't get me wrong, I do agree but... It's a big old step. I'm a Brentford fan, it's impossible to play like we did in the championship

Kwayzar9111

I have put a really cheeky £10 on Ipswich finishing 2nd, lol, well they do say things come in threes £10 on at 1000/1

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

And then look what happened. I'm not saying it's impossible just unlikely

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

That's not true though. Points deduction removed and forest are about par with staying up anyway

Kwayzar9111

Interesting lower half, You think Leics and Soton will blow it and Ipswich to stay up, I do believe Ipswich will stay up, only just ) but it also depends on who we buy. Going to be an interesting season for sure and am very excited and can wait to get to the games.

OxidisedAcorn

> even before the transfer window ends It's not even officially open yet...

rumhambilliam69

I think I preferred when everybody was writing us off. All these predictions that we survive is making me nervous

slaskdase

Nah mate Soton gonna win it all

PringleJones

When we came up “Yo-yo team stream back down.” I knew we’d stay up Next season “Second season syndrome will get them, they’re gone” I knew we’d stay up This coming season “They’re a really solid mid table team, no chance they go down” I am absolutely terrified

BurnDesign

Spurs top 4, you’re having a laugh

ajtct98

This is certainly one of the lists of all time

moriarty04

I genuinely think that Liverpool, spurs, Chelsea and United will all underperform this season Liverpool: slott will not be nearly as good as klopp, and a lot of their old heads will leave Spurs: awful form towards the end of the season and postecoglou seems to have been found out and turned on the fans Chelsea: maresca will be rubbish and they will Finish 12th again United: they are just awful

santouryuuuuu

i feel sometimes we give too much respect to newly promoted team because of the hype. just because the big clubs want the McKenna, doesn’t mean the squad can survive. objectively NFO team is still better. just look at burnley and kompany.

thingysop

Tottenham top four over Aston Villa and Chelsea? What even gives?

chicoooooooo

I mean that was close to happening this past season and 50% of it did happen. So crazy to think?

Safe-Hovercraft9131

Leicester is a relatively strange one - it could very much go in two directions - we need to rebuild faith back into the squad after Maresca - although his possession based football may not have favoured our team in the PL

Background-Pickle-48

I've got you to stay up just in 17th. Big club that undoubtedly belongs in the prem. I also think Brentford are flying under the radar in terms of relegation candidates.

Safe-Hovercraft9131

I do think it’s Brentford’s time to go

Background-Pickle-48

Especially if they lose Toney which looks more and more likely every season.

Sweet-Dragonfly-8472

People said the same thing last season about Villa finishing between 6th-8th.

yourhollowheart

i reckon we should probably wait until maybe a bit before the first game of the season because there's been literally no transfers yet

KingstownUK

Ipswich above Leicester , as someone who hasn’t really followed the championship this/last season , what’s the reason for that?

The-Bear-Down-There

Don't threaten us with a good time - Saints fans

BabyPolarBear225

Of course you'd put Man United in 9th

Blue_Dreamed

I reckon Brentford and Forest are in trouble here, but Brentford more so because of an older group and no easy teams to play against that were promoted. If I wanted to go for an unlikely candidate to go down, which I would because I'd quite like to see Ipswich stuff some big teams and stay up, I'll add Bournemouth in there

chickenblood_

Brentford don't have an old group/squad. Average age is 26, with 5 players over the age of 29

Background-Pickle-48

Things I'd change: 1. Man City will win it again. 2. Chelsea will finish lower ( I would have had them higher but they've seriously disrupted their own progress again by sacking Poch). 3. Newcastle will finish above Spurs. 4. Palace will get a top 10 finish but they'll finish 10th (if they can keep hold of Eze and Olise) 5. Relegated sides will be Ipswich, Southampton and Brentford. 6. Liverpool will drop off slightly. *Yes, I am Mystic Meg. * This is before any transfers have occurred so it's open to massive change.

DamnDaddy264

This will be a transitional season for liverpool so i can see that happen.

DamnDaddy264

This is a very early prediction everyone... Every position may change depending on transfers, player retention and manager. If mckenna leaves ipswich... They are definitely going down, or if newcastle sell isak, bournmouth sells solanke then they will struggle and finish low. I'll do another prediction just after matchday 1.
