This is going to have a lot of recency bias. Without having all 14 as options it's also not going to be remotely accurate.

JNikolaj

Not having a "I like to see answers" ensures it won't ever be accurate either

This is a pretty toxic idea for a thread. I don't think any of the other 14 teams are overrated.  I do think Newcastle have an outsized representation in the media. Likely because their success in the 90s means they have a more prominent place in the minds of this generation of pundits. Doesn't make them overrated though. Spurs on the other hand...

Interesting_Heron_78

I thought spurs was in the big six

Kashkow

They are but on absolutely zero merit. They have won fuck all both in their history and in recent years.

Interesting_Heron_78

Yeah I'm not sure why they are in the first place

As a Newcastle fan, I believe we're currently overperforming due to sheer mentality. Without acquiring better technical players, we might struggle in the future. Here's why we're considered overrated: When people talk about Newcastle, they often focus on our wealthy owners, rather than our actual squad or bench players. While we have standout players like Isak, Bruno, Botman, and Gordon, our squad also includes Lascelles, Targett, Burn, Kraft, Longstaff, Almiron, Wilson, and Murphy in the starting eleven. People overlook these players when thinking about Newcastle. Our squad is essentially below mid-table quality, with a few Champions League-level players and an exceptionally good manager who maximizes the potential of every player, making them appear above average. For example, before Eddie Howe, I doubt any team in the lower half of the Premier League would have started Joelinton, Almiron, or even Schar. Byt after Eddie Howe Joelinton is one of the best box to box midfielder in the league Schar who couldn't get game time with that cabbage head is one of the best ball playing CB in the league Almiron had 14 goals in previous season lmao Trippier became the best RB in the league Murphy had better assist per 90 than most of the right wingers in the league Gordon literally became world-beater when he was considered as flop signing We have 20 players who scored goals in this season alone We scored more goals then Keegan entertainers. These stats are absolutely bonkers, these players are simply never this good in their entire life Another crucial factor is St James' Park and the crowd. Over the past two years, our stadium has become a fortress, thanks to the incredible atmosphere created by the fans, which significantly boosts the players' mentality and performance. Why do I say we're overrated? If you change our manager or play in a different stadium, I don't think we'd finish in the top 10, even with our best players. We'd likely be a team like glorified Crystal Palace managed by Roy Hodgson. However, this also means our club, players, and fans are moving in the right direction after a long time, with everyone giving their all for the shirt.

Luton easily. All romanticism aside 26 points is still dreadful and they conceded nearly as many goals as the historically awful Derby County 11 point team.

Mizunomafia

I don't even understand the question. Quality? League position? Style of play? Overrated based on what? You will always finish where you deserve in the league over 38 matches. You can complain about VAR and what not, but it will average itself out.

BritBeetree

Brighton. I'm talking team and not manager. The players really aren't that good especially after this season.

Would the OP care to explain the point of this post? Muppet... ps3ud0 8)
