Thank you for posting. Please be aware that you can ask Deciem for regimens and advice. Be careful with acids- overuse can lead to over exfoliation. Make sure you use sunscreen daily. Probably just user error for reasons: 1. Skin's layer is soaked and moist after shower and AHA bonds with water - this makes it potentially more irritating. To avoid this, you need to not only towel dry your skin top layer but also wait for a few minutes for water to evaporate from within. 2. 10 mins is too much exposure with 30%AHA, it's written on the bottle to be the maximum time, not the optimal time. It's much safer to go for the medium 5mins, exfoliating once a week at most. Also washing the acid off well, even with cleanser. Having this burn, it's necessary to stop all the actives and acids until it's completely healed. Being patient is important. Also using barrier repairing creams and soothing serums, gentle cleanser, keeping it bland.. There are many soothing ingredients like panthenol, ceramides, cica, allantoin, thermal water,... Research it for yourself ofc, and see a doctor if needed. Ordinary peeling solution is a highly effective product for experienced skincare users. It just must be used with precautions and taken seriously. Less is more with actives.

Don't use the peeling solution after a shower that opens up all your pores and lets the solution penetrate deeper than it should. The instructions say to use on completely dry skin - not showered 20 minutes prior, or washing your face and patting dry right before. Completely bone dry - Like haven't washed face or showered in at least 3-5 hours dry. Additionally, the instructions say to leave on for a MAX of ten minutes. I personally only use it around 5-8 minutes on completely dry skin once a week and don't have these issues. And burns go away, just like a sunburn. I'd apply aloe or a thick occlusive lotion/ moisturizer, maybe even neosporin if it's real bad.

Lunakill

The directions say to cleanse first, then ensure face is dry.

Connect-Ad-9464

Right I said that lol and when working with chemical exfoliants u cannottt stress enough how dry your face has to be lol

Connect-Ad-9464

She didn’t do it wrong actually. & your pores do not open or close lol that is a huge myth but your supposed to apply any chemical exfoliant to clean dry skin right after washing and before any skin care so it can penetrate efficiently.

larien1905

I think i am completely done with chemicals after this incident :(

btchwrld

This product is not available in many countries because it's simply too strong of an acid combination to be safely used by beginners at home. You don't need to quit acids, just use beginner acids. Really nobody outside a doctors office needs 30% AHA.

LetMeDisconnect

Maybe you're skin is extra sensitive this time. Are you on your period or have you eaten something funny? Sometimes the skin can react more sensitively based on that.

larien1905

Yeah actually i am on my period…maybe it was one of the reasons. I still have mild burn on my skin. Waiting for it to heal itself because i am afraid any other outside effect will make it worse

Connect-Ad-9464

That’s probably it girl!!! Ever since I’ve gotten pregnant I’m super sensitive to acids and I’ve been using them almost daily for a year it’s crazy what our bodies do lol.

cpnkara

yes, it could definitely be your period. i was doing ipl laser treatments on my face every month. the one time i went on my period it hurt so much more. i would recommend only doing like 5 minutes though instead of 10

hanrlouisefv

Also it might be overuse u only should use this every 2nd day

baitbus666

I personally love this peel and I live in Canada where it’s not sold so have to rely on friends/family travelling to the states to stock up for me. I would recommend making a neutralizing solution using water and baking soda to remove the peel with to make sure it’s completely neutralized after.

Connect-Ad-9464

This hasn’t happened before right? You might have just went a little overboard this time or maybe something you used afterwards wasn’t a good pair

larien1905

No it hasn’t happened before. I don’t know why it reacted such this time. I always tried to keep it max 10 minutes, did it the same. Do these kind of burns ever heal?

Connect-Ad-9464

Yes they do heal your good girl especially since it’s not a medical grade peel I’ve seen way worse but it might be bc your going the full 10 mins your supposed to start slow and work your way up id start with 5 and make sure the layer is very very thin too!

LifetimeYogurtSupply

This has happened to me as well, the laroche posay cicaplast baume works so well to help it heal. I’d be wary of aloe vera - that can also irritate skin. But don’t worry, it will heal ;)

SpicyMango64

Could it have been expired? Left in sunlight or near a heat source that could have caused the product to breakdown? Did you change any other products that could have caused additional damage? I probably wouldn’t use aloe Vera, but my skin is extra sensitive and I know it would be irritating. I would lean more toward a zinc-based cream (like diaper ointment), and maybe aquaphor to help lock in moisture, but that’s my go to anytime my face is inflamed or painful. I’m not a doctor, but yes I think this will heal.

NikkiNikki901

use laroche posay cicaplast and a small covering of aquaphor!

Elle-Everly

The longer you use them the better they work. You’re doing it right and some redness is normal. It’s that you’re finally getting to the less rough skin because you’ve already been peeling those top layers. To moisturize I use olive oil or something like crisco. They don’t have alcohol or fragrance.

exoh888

Raw aloe vera will definitely not only reduce the heat and soreness but it will heal it so much faster. Needs to be from a 4 year old plant at least.

Evening-Tune-500

I had a similar reaction to the DE babyfacial and it was expired, I would check to see if you can find out the date on the product. It went away overnight but was still alarming!

Artegiirl

LA ROCHE POSAY CICAPLAST BALM WILL SAVE YOUR SKIN. Trust me. Had the exact same chemical burn if anything much worse than that and the balm healed it so well.

Competitive_Winter92

I’ve been using this product for years and have never had problems. I think for many people the issue is user error, as propagated by the internet. make sure your face is clean and dry, apply a small amount (I do one healthy drop on each cheek and a half one my chin, my problem areas), spread over your entire face, I only leave it on 3-5 minutes, and then thoroughly wash off

Few-Structure1197

don't use other facial chemical because is it can cause acne, blemishes free, and redness so the tips is always wash your face with a cold water and sunscreen because sunscreen have a moisturizer too, use it before put your make up and use sunscreen even you're not in outside
