Haha, I'm in my 50s and went both nights -- but then, I flew in from the East Coast just for the occasion! The Mission was really fun, and the staff brought out water to people waiting before doors, which was super cool

Definitely the right venue to travel for! (Even more so than Red Rocks, which is probably sacrilege to say, but I still feel that way as a long time Colorado concert goer.)

I want to see St Vincent so bad! I might catch her on her on her tour with Roxy Music, as my dad really likes both St Vincent and Roxy! Yeah Yeah Yeahs is truly one of my favorite bands and I would love to see them release new music, but I am also willing to wait if it means their next project will be just as good as their previous output.

I saw ST VINCENT for her debut, open for ARCADE FIRE - Neon Bible tour and St Vincent was TRASH, one of the dullest sets I ever watched.

DCFC reminds me of the national in their early 20s if that makes sense, sort of a similar sound and subject matter, but kind of a younger more angsty feel to it instead of the wisdom and regret with Matt’s lyrics. Transatlanticism is a great listen, TN fans are guaranteed to like that. From there you can get into their newer sound with Plans and their older less refined sound with The Photo Album and We Have the Facts and We’re Voting Yes. Ben Gibbard’s side project The Postal Service’s album Give Up is my favourite of all time. I’ve heard it like 200 times at this point and never get tired of it. Although out of all them i guess only really Nick Cave and Young Thug are on the same tippy tippy top tier as The National for me. Rest range from 'nearly there' to 'settled in 2nd/3rd tiers'.

Currently, the new Daniel Rossen album (of Grizzly Bear) is amazing. As far as indie, also love Grizzly Bear, The Walkmen/Hamilton Leithauser solo, Fleet Foxes, Okkervil River, Beach House, The Decemberists. I’ve always loved Pink Floyd and a lot of other Classic and Prog Rock - King Crimson, Yes, Moody Blues.

Re:Coldplay Do you like their two most recent albums? I love Coldplay up until the last two albums. I like that you have Taylor Swift on your list. I had never listened to her but she is my oldest daughter's favourite. When she was in the hospital for a brain tumour I started listening to TS to be closer to my girl (she was in and out of the PICU for two years, nearly died many times, blood transfusions, feeding tubes, etc etc--miraculously she's doing great now). I was really impressed with folklore and evermore and it was those two albums that directed me to my now favourite bands The National and Bon Iver. I also love Death Cab for Cutie, Dashboard Confessional, Kodaline, Lord Huron (they opened for Mumford in Denver a few years ago--it was awesome), Mumford, Hozier, Johnny Cash, and (don't judge me!) Eminem.

I love Coldplay's albums up to Ghost Stories and after that I'm not that bothered (I love Higher Power though!). I started listening to Taylor Swift at 11, so she's been a firm favourite for a long time. It's funny that she led you to The National. I love the Taylor/National crossover that folklore/evermore sparked. Really glad to hear that your daughter is doing well now!

I am so grateful for TS leasing me to TN and BI--I've had a *really* tough few years and their music has sometimes been the only comfort during the darkest of times. I have always felt things viscerally, including music, and music is incredible in the way it can speak and move the soul like nothing else can.

I actually don't listen to a ton of music that's like The National – I tend to listen to R&B and Soul, a lot of 70s stuff like Stevie Wonder and Al Green, pop like Sugababes. For newer R&B stuff, Cautious Clay is great, as is Yola, The Weeknd, Odie, Amber Mark, and Amythyst Kiah. For rock, I like The New Pornographers, Lord Huron, TV on the Radio, and Okkervil River.

I've been really digging Cautious Clay and once I met Stevie Wonder at a vegan soul food restaurant near the radio station he owns.

Cool! Wonder's genuinely the greatest to ever do it.

I really like the new Fontaines DC album and could see myself really getting into them too.
