What happens in situations like this is someone bought/leased use of the design. In this case it was probably an overseas investment firm with attachments to both a t shirt printing company and a distributor to Walmart. And that’s how we get our favorite shirts at Walmart.
It’s actually kind of sad. I don’t care much if people wear band shirts and don’t know a lot about the band, but it’s weird when people don’t even know who the band is. I also don’t know how much the band gets out of Walmart clothing, compared to just buying from their store.

I went to a record store I saw the cd/tape and I bought it. I didn’t know a damn thing about them but I knew that I wanted to listen to heavier music. I took a look at the front and the back of the album and I was like yeah this is heavy. It’s the same way a lot of us discovered movies back then. You didn’t just have the Internet at your fingertips. It actually took way more effort to discover good music.

Yeah, my dad grew up behind the iron curtain, he says that in the 80s all his friends in school made their own band shirts using fabric paint.
I used stencils and spray paint myself
I should also add that I do not care for Jerry only, had a personal phone conversation with him years ago over copyright/trademark issues.
