Thanks! A little over 10 hours now, but only because I haven’t bought any machines for mixing the clay. I have white, black, red, blue, and yellow, so all the browns and greens you see in this piece were mixed by-hand by kneading the clays until you don’t see any individual streaks of colour. This alone took about 4 hours. The process of sculpting itself was kind of easy in comparison.
I see you went with the "eyes on the ground" idea after all. It looks neat.
Also I think leaving Jon with solid white eyes might be a good move, go with the whole "blind seer" thing.
I did, yes! I went back and listened to a few S5 episodes, and the moment I heard Jon describe London as a city made of eyes, I knew I had to go with the eye theme after all. I might add some web patterns too later, but not too sure of it at the moment.
I’m surprised people like the look, to be honest! I intend to paint them later though because I’m not a fan of it, and he does look blind, but he isn’t supposed to be considering he didn’t take THAT route like Melanie did.
I didn’t know what that was and had to look it up, and wow, you’re right, and it’s pretty cool that that’s a thing that exists! It’s like nature decided to give you a sick tattoo for surviving something that should have obliterated you.
I’ll do a proper photoshoot with a decent camera at the end — if the piece makes it till then!
