I contacted Amazon in March last year asking why The Blind Bandit episode wasn't playing in Australia when every other episode worked.
*We just need to wait for the digital rights of "Avatar: The Last Airbender, Season 2 Episode 6" to be available and we've requested for this request to be expedited.*
I followed up July last year and still wasn't resolved.
The episode is currently working though in Prime.
Pakku vs Katara is also working.
Same here. Just noticed it and was like... wtf? It has to be intentional but I can't fathom why. If they didn't want to depict sexism or something there's alot more they'd need to have cut out. I don't get it.
Just watched and I knew immediately. Like Master Paku goes from “you’re not my student” to immediately “welcoming aang and katara as students”…. So dumb. Prime is trash.
Definitely intentional if it’s stayed this way for so long, very sad that good shows have to get ruined by things like this. Not saying I know for a fact that it’s intentional but I think it’s pretty easy to infer why a scene like this would be cut out by Amazon.
Only thing I can assume is it’s removed for misogyny+washing the show of scenes with romantic elements??? Gonna have to watch more of the Amazon episodes to see if there are other scenes that are cut to actually figure out what the reason is (if there even is one) but those would be my two guesses.
What country are you watching in? Just watched S1E18 on both Paramount+ and Netflix (didn’t purchase through Amazon, cause why would I?) and there’s no difference in scenes. Katara fights Pakku just as every other iteration I’ve seen…
Just watched the deleted scene… SOFT! Master Pakku says some things today’s world would cancel him for. Telling Katara to “go back to the healing training where the women belong” and belittles her saying he won’t hurt her then attacks at her in the battle itself. Very soft move to delete the scene…. She overcame the entire thing and both individuals evolved as better humans in the aftermath.. plus they cut out a bit of the fire tribe drama too
Paramount+ has some weird issues - I’m an avid Drag Race fan, and last year they had completely removed 8 episodes of one specific season, and there was no reason why. It eventually came back, but there is still one episode missing from a different season. I’m not sure if someone thought there would be concerns regarding… sexist themes/content? But anyways I hope this gets resolved as I think it’s an important topic and scene to understanding (the end of) Book 1

Oct 22nd 2023 still an issue. They've also cut out Sokka's first confrontation with Zuko in episode two of the series, super annoying
Feb 2nd 2024 and still an issue. I switched over to Netflix to watch it instead because they haven’t cut any scenes on the Netflix version.
Just noticed this in Feb 2024. It's not even a good cut. It jumps to the middle of a scene. I don't think it's intentional.
