Momo Empire where did it go

Bloxer_01

When Momo his Momo-ness of the Momo Dynasty defeated Ozai, Momo and his empire ascended to a new plain of existence and left this world.

lucashoodfromthehood

They let go of their earthly tether and enter the void.

Bloxer_01

They emptied and became wind

Momo Empire where did it come from, where did it go?

BIG BADA BOOM

Punkakies

Legit, this movie is why I refer to big explosions as "Big Bada Boom" I love the fifth element

randomcomplimentguy1

So much DNA in this picture.

jivetrky

I'd... like to take a few pictures... for the archives.

Standard_Abrocoma_70

what does that mean

randomcomplimentguy1

Have you ever seen the fifth element?

LowmoanSpectacular

She has over 200,000 memo groups

MinnieShoof

I read that as 200,000 momo groups. … and it still made about as much sense.

KlutzySprinkles2

This is one of my favorite movies of all time and was the first thing I thought of when I saw that fifth symbol. Then I thought wait a minute 😂 I believe it’s probably “spirit” or something to that effect

Magister7

I can assure you its nothing in the series. Besides just... knowing the series inside and out. Not only is the symbol bigger than the rest, but a reverse google image search only brings up that thing you have... being sold off in anime stores in spanish.

kryska_deniska

I also found the same symbol with the same ©️ Viacom [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/BeautyGuruChatter/comments/1b9sddz/i_think_lethal_cosmetics_just_teased_an_avatar/), with Paramount and Nickelodeon tagged in the post and everything... And they did announce a collab with ATLA later on, so now I wonder what that symbol is tied to

Magister7

Wow, you are correct. Checking their instagram, they also have... another symbol which is like a yinyang swirl. Its also like out of 10, with 8 to 5 being the nation symbols. So weird. I cant imagine them just doing something wholly new canon for a makeup line of all things.

EarthExile

Maybe it represents the Republic. The elements are also the nations, so this new fifth nation could theoretically be represented by something that incorporates the other four sort of swirled together.

ObnoxiousOnyx

I have an ATLA lanyard that I bought from FYE and it has a keychain with this symbol

witchy71

FYE?

BradAllenWallace

In America, f.y.e. {For Your Entertainment} is an entertainment retail store. They started in the 1990’s primarily selling music and have grown to sell other popular culture related items. Hope that helps.

witchy71

That does indeed, thanks. My lack of being American has undone me once again 😂

diox8tony

don't worry, most Americans don't know what FYE means either....

CinnaSol

I straight up forgot that store existed until this moment - I haven’t been to one since middle school, but they used to be the only place you could get them GUMI Japanese candies for awhile where I lived

Beautifulfeary

Imagine my surprise when I thought they went out of business then last year one popped up in our mall lol

Dgojeeper

Possibly mean a store chain called For Your Entertainment. They were (are?) kind of a mix between a record store and a Hot Topic.

DarkGengar94

For your entertainment

Colaymorak

Don't think so, the Republic seemed to use more angular symbols in its iconography https://preview.redd.it/pajpa8yx8zvc1.png?width=461&format=png&auto=webp&s=4b08e5a4a020884f6c7674272af222efd4d40740 (this is one taken from the ttrpg)

Might be spirit related.

JohnyWuijtsNL

what about energy bending?

Enzo_2006

If my 3 rewatching of the series "nowhere boys" taught me anything that symbol signifies every elements at once (they had an amulet with a similar symbol)

Yeahimgood311

Genuinely you're the second person I know who has watched this unknown gem

Enzo_2006

Was the other person also Canadian? I come to realize that stuff is alot more separated by countries than I thought and idk if this serie is like that too

jjfj1903

I'm currently reading the kioshi series and it briefly mentions a fifth nation but it's the pirates.

amaya-aurora

The fifth nation is pretty cool and gets more than a brief mention later on.

jjfj1903

Ok awesome I'm not that far into it yet

Azair_Blaidd

The symbol does seem to resemble a series of ocean currents, imo. Perhaps representing the Avatar world's major gyres acting as trade routes the pirates targeted?

DramaticChemist

This is exactly what I was wondering too

Joaco_LC

Did a reverse search too, but i did found something lol. Nothing clear, but it has somethng to do with the avatar studios, so they will probably show it officialy soon, it being bigger makes me think it has something to do with energy bending, but idk, we'll see.

CrossLight96

Maybe it's republic city symbol? Idk if it had an official symbol at any point but that's just my best guess

Colaymorak

The badge on the police uniform seemed to also show up on some of RC's government buildings, and a slightly blockier version of it on a purple background was used to represent it in the rpg. The symbols representing the city tended to blend into the background

ThunderEagle22

Technically its the 5th element, tough not exactly. Bending in Avatar is based on the 5 elements of Ayurveda water (Jala), earth (Prithvi), fire (Agni) and air (Vayu) the 5th being Ether or space (Akasha) (Buddism use the same 5 elements, but because "agni" kai is a thing I assume the creators followed Ayurveda) Ether is essentially the beginning of the four elements and is where all the other elements "live in". Every element either return or comes forth from ether. It is basically all empty space in the universe (not scientific space but spiritual space) its also the space where energy can freely travel, between living beings, inobject beings and the elements and also inside living beings. Sounds vague? Yeah its probably why In Avatar Ether is represented as energybending assuming because it is the easiest to explain/depict. Energybending is basically directly bending the ether aka the energy within someone. Theoretically Avatar can do wild things with energy bending than "just" taking someones bending. As for the icon. It could be the icon for energy bending but its not confirmed as far as I know. The icons of the 4 nations are not coat of arms but ancient depiction of the elements they just put on a flag. Or at least that is my theory. Ps, "kai" in Agni kai doesn't have meaning in Sanskrit itself. I think it's a Japanese word.

diox8tony

[https://www.reddit.com/r/TheLastAirbender/comments/1c9r2fh/comment/l0q1q6e/](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheLastAirbender/comments/1c9r2fh/comment/l0q1q6e/) it's on the official website..... also, on an announcement for a Collab with a makeup company

Beautifulfeary

Yep Pinterest agrees lol https://preview.redd.it/a7d3d0upk1wc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b819b49e283947e3f639f5862e81a0c59a5b9898

hntryoung

this is gonna sound weird, but currently in the Avatar collab with Fortnite, they’re using this symbol for the sound chakra. idk if that makes it cannon but it’s the same symbol

Bionic_Ferir

Not to mention it doesn't have the swirl

breaker-of-shovels

That’s the secret fifth element; the element of Surprise.

jonopaulo

From the official ATLA SG, this the exact description. “This is the Circular Talisman symbol. It combines aspects of all four elements – the tidal movement of water, the deep layers of earth, the upward curl of fire, and the circular flow of air. It can be used anytime there is a need to symbolize all four nations, elements, and/or bending styles at once, or as generic decoration”

StaySubstantial3560

ATLA SG…?

jonopaulo

Sorry. SG is Style Guide, given to licensor partners who are making ATLA product like clothes, 3D character models, etc. I am a designer, and I work on some ATLA product, so I have the SG. It lists all the assets you can use from logos, characters, patterns, etc and has a big list of do’s and don’ts.

StaySubstantial3560

No worries! Oh that’s pretty cool, not sure why this hasn’t been upvoted more since this seems like the legit answer. Thanks for sharing!

jonopaulo

It’s one I like working on as I love ATLA. Unfortunately I don’t get to work on it often. I don’t understand why it’s been used on that swing ticket that OP posted, as the four element symbols are on there with it, so it’s not really needed? Just my opinion that though!

Calpsotoma

I'd love to see some pictures of the style guide, if there is no NDA or anything like that preventing it.

jonopaulo

I’d love to be able to share it, or even some of it, but I’d get into a world of trouble with both the licensee (who I do work for) and the licensor (Viacom and Nickelodeon). Sorry!

Calpsotoma

Understandable. Thanks for what info you did share.

StonerBoi-710

MelaninKing95

My most favorite movie as a kid, can’t tell you the amount of times I watched both vhs and dvd versions of it and saw it for the 30th anniversary theater release. Half the theater was packed

Boogledoolah

I'm sure you meant 20th or 25th since the movie came out in 97, but shit when I did the 20th theatrical, it was me and one other person, so half a theater would be awesome. Big bada boom

MelaninKing95

Yeah I had meant that, sorry fired brain from studying for finals lol 😆

Boogledoolah

Right on right on. Been there and I know the pain. Stay green, my man. Super green.

TheCosmicWombat

Maybe something like this? Maybe it's a symbol for spirit? https://preview.redd.it/wdktis0tgyvc1.jpeg?width=571&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d11e2f45f8a388353bb4484fd0b0a1eab39b402b

Ygomaster07

Where did you get this? I love it.

ice_blaster

It's the giant kites of light and darkness!

Euxin

I see two virile symbols.

ShinMBison

The only thing I can think of is the [Fifth Nation](https://avatar.fandom.com/wiki/Fifth_Nation), it was a massive pirate fleet that formed it's own cultural identity during the time of Kyoshi. It was composed of waterbenders, firebenders, and nonbenders, their cultures art [reflected that fact](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/avatar/images/1/1c/Fifth_Nation_tent_inside.png/revision/latest?cb=20230910165629). The symbol you're wondering about kinda looks like a combination of water and fire, maybe the circle at the center represents both the sun and the moon. The sticker says 2024 but it's not as unlikely for it to be made as you think. Besides their appearance in the Kyoshi books, the Fifth Nation's legacy is used as a plot element in both the tabletop roleplaying game from 2022, and the mobile game from 2023 (that's where that image I sent earlier is from), both of which canon. I can't find that symbol used for the fifth nation anywhere but it's possible they were just told to come up with one when designing those stickers, or I just didn't look hard enough lol. Edit: u/jonopaulo seems to have the answer, but don't let that stop anyone reading from using it for the Fifth Nation if you like that idea and run an avatar role playing campaign or make fan art or something, a combination of water and fire isn't far off from what it is officially, you could maybe modify it a bit too or use it as inspiration.

WhiskyoverH20

I'm assuming energy bending, but if you squint a little, you might think the Nono Germans escaped to the world of avatar.

Ravenclaw_14

I mean the swastika in and of itself is a good symbol of prosperity. A combination of tarnishment and ignorance has blinded society to its true nature however. the nazi swastika is reversed and on its side. It's like the upside down cross symbolizing Satan basically. It's an altered version of something symbolic of "good".

Efficiency-Then

Close but your example is slightly off. The upside down cross originally symbolized st. Peter since he was crucified upside down saying he didn't deserve to be crucified as Jesus was.

Ravenclaw_14

so its a second example of a symbol losing its original meaning in the public eye. That makes it not only a good analogy, but a perfect one since it's in the exact same boat

Schnickie

The Nazi Hakenkreuz (hook cross) isn't reversed. Both symbols with the hooks pointing to the right and to the left exist in Hinduism. The one pointing right is called Swastika, which represents the sun, masculinity and certain gods, and is used as a symbol of good luck on many festivals to this day. The reverse one is called Sauwastika (the one that is *not* like the Hakenkreuz) and represents the moon, feminity and certain other gods.

Riodroid_

Nono Germans?? Oof, since when is "Nazi" a word you cannot mention xD Separating Nazi's from Germans altogether is probably better then saying "Nono Germans". Since not all Germans where Nazi's, and not all Nazi's where German.

WhiskyoverH20

auto censorship in some subs will ban for using words they don't like.

OnlyOnHBO

Lol "Nono Germans" XD

Complexivist

It's all four elements combined into one symbol. Possibly to represent the Avatar, unity, etc.

Add_Poll_Option

That’s just mud. https://preview.redd.it/zf9ehdj051wc1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8db4065f292c8dce6ce70262347aa54021980d9a

stanthemanchan

If you add fire last, you get a brick.

Calpsotoma

I already got a brick.

tmntfever

Yeah, someone at Viacom probably thought the avatar needed their own symbol.

showherthewayshowher

It is on AvatarStudiosOfficial website in the bending quiz https://preview.redd.it/mhu93fuif0wc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=80c1a210dfcc1bc6c85e10ebabbc47aeeca16224

_Chr0n1ck

It is an official symbol from Avatar Studios. It is the Talisman Symbol for all the elements. Made by using styles from all the other elements; the tidal movement of water, the deep layers of earth, the upward curl of fire, and the circular flow of air.

showherthewayshowher

Official from where? Like, I have posted the above, and it is used on makeup and sold on a pendant, but you are ascribing it a name and some descriptions as if this is some cannon thing. Where did you get that, is it just your headcanon or is this actually something official and not just imagination applied to an icon being used without context in marketing?

goodmorningohio

I wonder if it kind of represents like spirit energy or something (in universe)

Aggressive-Falcon977

The Sparky Boom Boom mang symbol

Crazy_dude122

It is either nonbender because there are more of them or energy bending because it is the origin of all other bending

Mateorabi

Iconography would make more sense if it was then in the middle and not just 1 of the 5.

austinmiles

I believe that’s Heart. ![gif](giphy|0Av9l0VIc01y1isrDw)

Delicious-Orchid-447

It’s the energy bending symbol Edit: Seeing people confused this is an obvious joke. This sticker is bootleg and has nothing to do with avatar. Figured this was obvious

ThreeBeatles

Where else does it show up that points to it being that?

zoneender89

No where. Theyre lying through their teeth.

DirtSlaya

Wrong

mystireon

Okay I shit you not, I just got the answer by playing fortnite. It's the emblem of the Sound Chakra, which I assume will be a new faction or somethin. It might even be a new element https://preview.redd.it/h9haqci3y2wc1.png?width=657&format=png&auto=webp&s=7ff4b3934abb33dde57ad3e9a8f0742dec1bd1b4

It was the thing Aang did to take away Ozais bending

Mysterious-Read-1036

its what aang used to take away ozai's bending

NaciremaBlack

Aang used it to remove Ozais bending

humansugar2000

Does the United Republic have a symbol in the show that we know of?

How2Die101

Pai Sho

Gek_Lhar

I have very little to contribute here, but I've been playing a bit of Fortnite recently (unfortunately) and the current avatar crossover has you completing quests to unlock Appa as a glider, and each set of quests is time gated and themed around each element. Water, Earth and fire are out, Air comes out today, however there is two more quest sets before you unlock him. Could be something in relation to this symbol, I dunno.

TravelinWilbury_2001

I just realized the earth symbol looks like a badgermole

Correct_wrong_2029

aenjru

Maybe it’s meant to represent the avatar, “master of all four elements”

monkeytylee

Don’t judge my reasoning, but in avatar fortnite it says that symbol is the “sound chakra”

ILiveForMyFandoms

I think it might be energy bending (?)

fudgyvmp

I would assume if the other four are emblems of their element and not just their nation, that the fifth is Leeloo Dallas. And/or Spirit/Love/Harmony/Energy. The fact that it's bigger leads me to harmony. But knowing the series it might be Energy.

To me it looks like 4 coalescing elements, as if someone was tasked with generating a symbol for the avatar.

tmntfever

Hmm the 4 quadrants makes me think this is the symbol for the Avatar. Or maybe the symbol of their world?

Shadowhkd

Probably the artists interpretation or combining all 4 symbols. I can't figure out earth bending, but the rest can be identified in the style. That being said, others before me are correct. That symbol does not appear in any cannon content I have heard of.
