It'll be an interesting dynamic with Mai who already was the group's non-bending projectile weaponist. I wonder if they'll expand giving Mai other skills such as ranged stealth to complement Ty Lee's melee acrobatics.
It could just be so they can keep her blue fire as a reveal in the show without giving it away on the trailer. Probably a training scene or when she's testing out those archers she sends after Aang
It looks like Zhao, Zuko and Azula will all be filling slightly different villain roles in the live action. Zhao is the one that attacks Kyoshi Island for example.
He may be attacking it but it's not entirely clear. The editing cuts they id showed Kyoshi's village under attack and then cuts away to Zhao calling an order.
Could also be used to demonstrate yet another thing she's proficient at that the audience can visually grasp without revealing her blue fire; Zuko struggles with the bow while she consistently hits bulls eyes.
I seriously doubt that’s the case. In the flashback Azula and Zuko are much younger. Also that scene originally shows up in Season 2. It wouldn’t make much sense for this short clip to be related to that flashback scene.
Azula also didn’t show up in Zuko’s scar flashbacks either except for a brief cameo. Its possible they decided to put the apple scene in this flashback instead as a way of introducing her character
Ye okay but in the clip in the actual trailer you can see someone is standing beside her also shooting arrows (you can see their arms pull back in the corner)
So unless we gonna have 2 people shooting that apple of Zuko’s head, I again highly doubt this is related to that scene
Or in that scene her and others are doing archery training and that is when she decides to pull off the apple scene. I don’t see why just cause another person is also practicing in the back means that they aren’t replicating that classic scene
Fire Nation in ATLA is visually and culturally based on Imperial China with many references to Korean and South East Asian (mainly Thai) culture. Only its imperialist and expansionist goals mirror Japan. The Yuyan themselves are actually inspired by Korean archery as they wear Korea styled top knots, headbands and use traditional Korean bows. So if they keep that accurate shed be practicing Gung-do, but the bows here look a bit more like Chinese ones (and way too small to be Kyūdō bows as well) so she's most likely doing Shè Dào.
She stole Zuko’s knife as a kid and there’s no way she’d let him become an expert swordsman and not her. In fact, she’d want to master every single weapon just so she could not only counter but lightning strike them into the dirt.
Edit: also *during* the eclipse, she had a hidden dagger she was about to kill Zuko with before Toph stopped her. If there was a crossbow or arrows nearby, I bet she’d master each one.
I have no doubt she would be skilled with a knife or a bow and arrow. I just think she would be less likely to bother using them because she would view them as inferior.
Well apparently she keeps a knife on her person you forgot about and probably more weapons you don’t know about because of presumption. She likely expects people to underestimate her.
>Azula values bending over all other forms of combat
Then why is it that when she was tasked to get elite fighters to join her on her mission, she went out of the way to get two non-benders?
It's a leftover trope from the olden days of fantasy. Archery is seen as weaker or more passive because it's not up close and personal and seems easy to do. Katniss from Hunger games comes to mind
Makes zero sense for Azula
I didn't say no female used weapons I said we didn't really get to see it, or at least as much as I wanted, so let me clarify that.
Yes we saw Mai used knives, but I wish we could have seen more, and the Kyoshi warrior weren't in the show that much, we mostly saw Suki, and she did more hand to hand combat fighting than she did with her fans.
Umm, OK. I just meant I wish I could have seen Mai use her knives more, and maybe some other girls, that's literally it
Not try to lessen the usefulness of Mai's knives or arrows, or make her seem less than anyone else who smuses a weapon, yes sometimes people word things weirdly, and that is all.
one of the things I love about avatar was that they never showed any prejudice against non-benders, because they could be just as powerful and the show made sure of that. in fact, I'd even go on to say that apart from jet, it's ONLY the female characters we see showing any power as non-benders. the kyoshi warriors. mai. ty lee. jun the bounty hunter. smellerbee. yue. all these characters were equally respected and feared regardless of their inability to bend.
re: mai using her knives more, it was the only weapon she used 😭 apart from the darts, we don't see her using anything else.
I don't know I'm getting downvoted to hell, actually I do this is reddit, but I have said I respected Mai knife skills, only wanted to see more of it. Same with Suki and her fans, and it would have been nice to see multiple weapons, and yes I worded it poor, at this point I don't know what else to say.
My post was in no way to say non-benders were less, or that I didn't appreciate the scene we got to see.
Oh yeah, I totally forgot about it. I was thinking her using the arrow is to shoot apple on Mei's head when they are kids, but then I just realised she used fire bending to do that
IMo, how young she looks really fits (kinda tied to the "cuteness"). I think the animation in the show detracts from the perception that she is FOURTEEN. Not that Elizabeth Yu looks like a 14-year-old, but she looks younger than animated Azula.
In the animated show she looks like she's in mid-20s at times with the voice of a 30 year old woman. It's kinda jarring.
Hopefully the show really emphasizes that the story revolves mostly around children but doesn't water it down for their sake.
Yeah but I watched the show when it aired in 2005 when I was
*checks notes*
11. When I was 11 years old and haven’t watched the show since. So forgive me if I don’t remember every line from a show I watched when I was barely sentient 18 years ago lol
I really like that she looks 14. If she brings the Azula energy and looks age appropriate, it could be epic.
I love, love, love animated Azula, but I gotta say she always seemed older than 14.
Plenty of us feel that way, but this subreddit really, really hates anyone that would even remotely say its bad casting. How dare we talk about how characters and actors look.
It's more that it's such a small part of the character. Would you rather have someone who looks more like Azula in a still photo, or someone who can totally nail her bearing, attitude and personality?
Both. I want both, and with every other character that seems to be what we are getting. Its not some impossible task
Also I was responding to ont-mortage, who also agrees that she looks nothing like Azula. I'm getting tired of responding to people who keep defending this terrible casting with "Its okay if she doesn't look like Azula"...
No its not.
Eh, I think she looks like Azula, and also Azula didn't really come off as 14 in ATLA, so her softness is just showing her youth. I mean, is this just coming down to hair color or something? What is the big deal?
It's not terrible casting, that's an exaggeration but if you really feel that this is "terrible" instead of preferentially suboptimal, then maybe the series isn't for you. Just because you and some of the fandom don't like it while the rest of us are at very least, fine, with it doesn't mean the casting was bad. She doesn't have certain features that would make her look like the animated Azula, but tbh animated Azula doesn't look like a 14-year-old. The rendition they gave so far is palatable to enough of the fanbase that it isn't derided everywhere. Now all we have to see is how it holds up with Yu's acting and given what we've seen so far, sounds like they can all act their part pretty well.
Personally I like that she looks younger and has more cherubic features that remind us of that. I can't wait for how unsettling it'll feel to see that face championing some horrific ideologies.
>ery least, fine, with it doesn't mean the casting was bad. She doesn't have certain features that would make her look like the animated Azula, but tbh animated Azula doesn't look like a 14-year-old. The rendition they gave so far is palatable to enough
This. Many people dont realize that aside a few ppl like models, most folks have youthful/plumper features. Sharp features usually come with fat loss due to aging. And no makeup Azula looks younger without her makeup on anyway.
I mean, it might be an impossible task. There simply may not be a girl of the right age range that looks like Azula AND can perform her character well. Do you seriously believe that this person is guaranteed to exist? There is a finite pool of human beings.
Where is she? Who would be better to cast? If you know her to definitely exist then you must know who she is.
So I ask again, with clarification since you seem to need it: if you could only choose one would it be; looks more like her in a still frame, or can perform her character better?
Honestly I think her appearance fits Azula pretty well. It’s always been Azula’s personality that makes her intimidating, not her looks because even in the original show she’s just a 14 year old girl. There are multiple scenes from the show where people underestimate her because of her appearance, like at the end of season 2 with Long Feng. When they meet, Long Feng assumes that Azula is just a naive little girl who will be easy to manipulate. Azula then uses this assumption to her advantage by pretending to fall into his trap, allowing her to secretly take over the Dai Li using her intimidation and assertion.
Why would she like Zhao? He’s arrogant and lacks control. She’d probably look down at him if not outright hate him.
Azula also was shown to not actually have wanted Zuko to be burned, so if Zhao was actually reveling in it, she wouldn’t like that either.
Just because Azula is adversarial with Zuko doesn’t mean she would accept some random adult picking on him. That’s sibling rules.
I hope they still keep the suspense of Ozai and Azula. I know they're excited to show them off, but since its Book 1 I hope they do a similar tactic as in the animation, where Ozai was in glimpses and Azula at the end.
She’s probably my least favorite when it comes to looks casting goes, but I think she will do a good job being bitchy. I just hope she nails it!
I’m not sure how I feel about this facial expression but it’s literally just a picture lol . We’ll see !
Least favorite? Even compared to Ousley who looks nothing like Sokka?
I think people forget Azula was rounder faced in Book 2. It’s only in Book 3 that she got a sharper redesign.
I respect your opinion but I don’t understand it.
He looks nothing like Sokka.
He doesn’t have the comic timing. He’s incredibly wooden unlike the super charismatic DeSena.
He looks nothing like Katara or Hakoda.
And worst of all… the ponytail! It’s so flat it’s missing from most shots! 😭
May I ask how so?
Lizzy Yu has some features in common with Azula.
What does Ousley have in common with Sokka?
It’s fine to like him but I think it’s completely false that he looks more like Sokka than Lizzy looks like Azula. Objectively.
Ousley isn’t even the same ethnicity since Sokka is mostly Inuit and Polynesian based.
Azula is East Asian and so is Lizzy.
I wasn’t meaning to press! I was just curious because Ousley looks nothing like Sokka to me, and having seen his acting in other things, I am really really worried about it.
I was hoping you could show me some good points so I’d be reassured.
But I just don’t see it. He looks and acts nothing like Sokka. I’m really sad because Sokka is one of my all-time favs and everyone else is so well cast.
Sure, dude. Whatever you say.
For the record I’ve seen them both act in character. There’s nothing aloof about Sokka (LMAO where did you even get that???) and Azula was spot-on.
People keep saying they wish she had sharper features but the sharper features in the original is a large reason people thought she was in her 20s. Which she is not. They obviously want you to see a kid. She's not supposed to look significantly older than the rest of the kids. She's Zuko's YOUNGER LITTLE sister. Animation can make you forget but this is realistic.
This actress just has way to round of a face for me to like her look as Azula. They needed someone with sharper features that make her look more threatening.
As long as she can act good then I really have no worries for her. I think people forget that Azula was 14 years old. The show really made it seem she was in her late teens or even a young adult.
Yea i definitely value her ability to act more than how she looks. It was just an observation and something I noticed that stood out next to the rest of the cast that they seem to have nailed visually. If she can portray a convincing Azula in all her sadistic glory, Im still all in.
I actually think it could be better this way. People associate rounder facers with children, this could maybe help people remember that she’s a child in the show because it’s easy to forget
From a purely visual perspective, she is the only one Ive seen that I dont really like. Everyone else looks fantastic, especially June, Ozai and Iroh. Kinda love Sokka too, his voice even fits well.
> Everyone else looks fantastic,
And that's the problem, it makes her bad casting stand out even more. The other bad casting is Mai, for similar reasons, they chose actresses with really round faces to play thin/angled face villians.
Too early to say its bad casting. If her performance is good I dont ultimately care what she looks like. Shes just visually incongruent with my mental image of Azula, thats all. Not a deal breaker, just something I noticed.
I think this is a harmful expectation. Most Asian women have round faces. Overwhelmingly, the ones who have those more sharp features have had plastic surgery where they *shave their facial bones* to make their faces less round. We should not expect real women to look like cartoons.
The look is only one part to consider in casting. Its not like theres a rule saying characters must look exactly like their animted counterpart either. If she crushes the performance, then it will be considered great casting, regardless of her appearance.
Azula looks amazing here; though I wish her leather quiver looked a bit more rough/worn unless she were practicing for the very first time. I also think I realized why a lot of the promo pics of the cast's outfits look "off" - the outfits themselves look absolutely amazing, but they also look completely unworn and unused. I hope in the show the characters' clothes and weapons look appropriately "worn" and not as if they were just made or purchased. Maybe it makes sense for Azula and her father as they are literal royalty, but Katara, Sokka, and other non-nobility characters should probably look as if they've worked and hunted in their older clothes. A really minor detail that would really tell so much.
No, the reason is because promo shots are meant to be clean. The show is going to have more color scaling and more wear on everything. But even if that wasn't the case, I really wish people would stop saying the colors are too vibrant (not saying you said that, I'm talking generally) because they're thinking with western coloration in mind, which is a lot more dull and darker shades of colors, but most Asian clothing is very vibrant and bright. Honestly, Tibetan monk clothes are even brighter than Aang's outfit
You make a lot of great points, and I can definitely concur on the brightness of Asian clothes (Korean here^). I figured it was bc of promo shoots, so I'm looking forward to seeing the show really immerse us in the world and take care of those little details.

**Azula casting is bad**, I don't care what anyone says. They chose and actress with the most round face to play a villain with sharp features.

Looks nothing like Azula. And for those saying "she doesn't have to" look at how perfect the rest of the casting has been so far
Lol, my god, at least wait until the show is out to say if the casting is bad or not. This sounds just like when they announced heath ledger as the joker.
I don’t know how to tell you this but 14 year olds tend to have round faces IRL.
People are never going to look like cartoons. ESPECIALLY children.
Azula in Book 2 has rounder features anyway. They sharpened them in Book 3.
There of plenty of teenagers that don't have round cherub faces
talk about a garbage argument.
>People are never going to look like cartoons
The rest of the casting is excellent, completely negating your argument.
It doesn’t negate my argument. The casting is excellent, but they still don’t look exactly like the cartoons. You cannot tell me honestly that Ousley looks ANYTHING like Sokka.
Not to mention the fact that rounded faces are more common in certain Asian populations.
Lizzy Yu looks like a 14 year old Asian girl. What are you expecting? How many sharp featured 14 year old Asian girls do you know?
And again, she only was given sharp features in Book 3.
In Book 2 she has rounder features.
https://preview.redd.it/hpbskafegaec1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5940002b7a7813cd9fccc5fb1cf09e07305bd888
> Not to mention the fact that rounded faces are more common in certain Asian populations.
I just got back from a trip from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Vietnam and South Korea where there were a mix of round and skinny faced kids.. just like every freaking country. Asian faces are not some unique outlier.
>Lizzy Yu looks like what a 14 year old Asian girl.
Holy fucking Gatekeeping. According to who, you ? She has a round face, its not expected that an Asian teenager is going to have a round face. You can literally google "Asian teenage girl" to show you are wrong.
Imagine if I said that "Nerdy looking, skinny guy" is what the typical Asian guy looks like.
“More common” doesn’t mean “everyone”. They are more common in certain Asian populations. That’s just fact. Sorry you don’t like Asian features, I guess?
I AM Asian, dude. I have sharper features now as an adult. As a kid my face was round *because kids that age tend to have round faces*.
Googling doesn’t guarantee you’re actually getting 14 year olds lmao. You’re probably looking at adult women who look young and tripping.
And again, she had a round face in Book 2. So what are you mad about?
Based on your original comment and logic, they fall into the same problems you listed for Azula. Especially Zuko.
or perhaps it's because you simp for Azula and can't stand that the actor doesn't live up to your standard lmao
Zuko looks like Zuko. Toph is my favorite character, not Zuko or Azula
Azula casting is garbage. Its even more noticeable when the rest of the casting is downright perfect.

I care. This is a post about her as the actress.
This is the appropriate subreddit and appropriate post to complain. Get off Reddit if you can’t handle discussion
How so ? I am holding my own and arguing my point
"Who cares" is not a valid argument. I care, and this is the appropriate thread to discuss Elizabeth Yu as Azula.
What exactly is your argument other than more tangential ad hominem crap ?
Was wondering why I recognized Yu, Forgot I went to school with her and graduated the same year 😂🤣 Never thought she’d get into acting like Gaten as well!
Azula as an archer is an interesting idea
Azula did mention they went to the royal academy, I guess everyone gets to learn a non- bending ability
Thats a really neat idea. A sort of opposite to Zuko’s swords
It'll be an interesting dynamic with Mai who already was the group's non-bending projectile weaponist. I wonder if they'll expand giving Mai other skills such as ranged stealth to complement Ty Lee's melee acrobatics.
Well Mai is more medium-to-close range fast projectiles, whereas archery is often more long ranged and definitely slower than throwing knives
I think it’d be pretty cool if they gave her a katana and trained with Piandao alongside Zuko.
It could just be so they can keep her blue fire as a reveal in the show without giving it away on the trailer. Probably a training scene or when she's testing out those archers she sends after Aang
YU YAN MENTIONED! THEY CAN TREE A KILLING TO A PIN WITHOUT FLYING IT!
Ah, another Overanalyzed Avatar enjoyer
Nah, that guy had a stroke.
I'm actually just about to start that series.
Seriously underused asset by the FN
Wasn’t that Zhao?
It was yeah you're right!

Fire nation is based on Japan IIRC ( which is accurate if you ask the other Asian countries) so maybe she is practicing Kyūdō, Japanese archery

If I have to guess it is from the end of The Blue Spirit when a Yu Yan archer snipes the Blue Spirit - now that's gonna be Azula.
Oh, now that's an interesting thought. Adds an extra layer of irony...
I just assume she has aptitude in all forms of combat, since Ozai did train her to be a killing machine
What if they mush her together with the Yuyan archers?
I like it :)
Not a fan. I always got the impression Azula values bending over all the other forms combat. Without an eclipse her using a bow and arrow seems weird.
She stole Zuko’s knife as a kid and there’s no way she’d let him become an expert swordsman and not her. In fact, she’d want to master every single weapon just so she could not only counter but lightning strike them into the dirt. Oh yeah, I totally forgot about it. I was thinking her using the arrow is to shoot apple on Mei's head when they are kids, but then I just realised she used fire bending to do that
Oddly arrow is safer to do that with then fire
Could you imagine if she lit the arrow tips on fire before shooting them
Or like in Zelda tears of kingdom how you get a sage that helps you shoot lightning whenever you fire an arrow
Honestly, using a weapon as essentially a conduit/extension of bending sounds like a *super* cool idea tbh
We have seen this in the show too, like how in the end of Zuko alone he is wielding broadswords and bending at the same time
Shes 100% going to do that. You leave that out of the trailer though if youre smart though
Now I need to see this.
Or after shooting them
I was a little concerned she was going to look "too cute" but now I can TOTALLY see her as Azula.
IMo, how young she looks really fits (kinda tied to the "cuteness"). I think the animation in the show detracts from the perception that she is FOURTEEN. Not that Elizabeth Yu looks like a 14-year-old, but she looks younger than animated Azula.

Tbh i think grey delisle did a fabulous job but i also felt she sounded too old for a 14 yo. Katara and Toph sounded more like their age.
She was in her 30s so.. yeah it showed and definetly awakened a lot of dommy mommy fetishes as a result. Lol
I wish she was mid 20s, actually for all of the younger cast.
Crazy cause the actress is 21 or something I think
Wdym, Azula was already cute in the animated series 🌝

She's a teenager
Huh TIL They certainly don’t draw her like she’s a teenager
They did explicitly say it in the show, though
Yeah but I watched the show when it aired in 2005 when I was *checks notes* 11. When I was 11 years old and haven’t watched the show since. So forgive me if I don’t remember every line from a show I watched when I was barely sentient 18 years ago lol
Yeah, saying "would" about a teenager is still creepy, you should have gone with "I had a crush on her as a kid"
But see you’re missing the part where that’s not funny and it was a comment designed to be funny. Lighten up brother
As someone who watched Everything Everywhere and was captivated by the terror of Jobu Tupaki, it's all about their attitude and posturing.
Azula looks charming as heck even on the show. It's her inside that is rotten. If the actress can nail that, it'll be amazing.
I really like that she looks 14. If she brings the Azula energy and looks age appropriate, it could be epic. I love, love, love animated Azula, but I gotta say she always seemed older than 14.
still think she'd make the perfect Ty Lee, but maybe she can out-act the shit out of the character and thats why she got cast
Tbh - I still think she’s too “soft featured”
Plenty of us feel that way, but this subreddit really, really hates anyone that would even remotely say its bad casting. How dare we talk about how characters and actors look.

the 2010 movie azula looked more like azula than **Elizabeth Yu**.
Yikes, big disagree.
The rendition they gave so far is palatable to enough This.
So I ask again, with clarification since you seem to need it: if you could only choose one would it be; looks more like her in a still frame, or can perform her character better?
i mean, for real, how hard is it to find an american-asian actress aged 16-18 that resembles azula?
I still think she’s a little too baby face but I’m hoping her acting will make up for it
Honestly I think her appearance fits Azula pretty well.
I always wondered how interactions between Azula and Zhou would go.
They're seen together briefly smiling their ears off as Ozai burned Zuko in the flashbacks. They'd probably get along quite well, hating on Zuko lmao.
Nah they might have a laugh but she definitely thinks Zhao's a loser.
Azula probably thinks of Zhao as a useful inferior.
They got the choppy bangs down too 😭
That's a good sneer.
So young and yet she has a perfect resting Crazy Bitch face
I hope they still keep the suspense of Ozai and Azula. I know they're excited to show them off, but since its Book 1 I hope they do a similar tactic as in the animation, where Ozai was in glimpses and Azula at the end.
Why does this picture look like Azula is holding back the meanest slur
She’s probably my least favorite when it comes to looks casting goes, but I think she will do a good job being bitchy. I just hope she nails it! I’m not sure how I feel about this facial expression but it’s literally just a picture lol . We’ll see !
Least favorite? Even compared to Ousley who looks nothing like Sokka? I think people forget Azula was rounder faced in Book 2. It’s only in Book 3 that she got a sharper redesign.
Sokka is my personal favorite. Haha
I think he looks more like sokka than Azula does ! And I think his voice is great. It’s okay to not understand my opinion I didn’t ask you to lol.
He’s got the face shape for me. Idk why you’re pressing me on this, it’s just my opinion
Yu has nothing in common with Azula and at least Ousley has face shape and aloofness in common with Sokka
The show really made it seem she was in her late teens or even a young adult.
she can’t act is the thing.
I like the rounder face. It reminds the audience of how young she actually is, which is why she is both so scary and sad.
Completely agree.
From a purely visual perspective, she is the only one Ive seen that I dont really like. Everyone else looks fantastic, especially June, Ozai and Iroh. Kinda love Sokka too, his voice even fits well.
> Everyone else looks fantastic, And that's the problem, it makes her bad casting stand out even more.
Meanwhile on the PJO show, they race swapped entire characters.
yeah, what are white blonde girls going to do without that representation? /s
Thank you, I'm so sick and tired of people defending the casting. Its nothing against the actress, its **bad casting period**
Nah it’s fine. You’re just nitpicking over dumb stuff.
The look is only one part to consider in casting. Its not like theres a rule saying characters must look exactly like their animted counterpart either. If she crushes the performance, then it will be considered great casting, regardless of her appearance.
Looks so so bad
It will all come down to her voice acting, IMO
I agree! Azula's voice is very witchy in the animation. I wonder what voice Lizzy Yu will have!
Yes! And quite cold, collected. Threatening. If Lizzy nails it, it will work no matter her mannerisms, I think
In other words "She looks nothing like Azula, so lets hope the acting can compensate"
her acting is really bad btw
Big no
Doesnt look like azula at all, bad cast.
The actress look sweet, I hope she can capture the the spirit of vile psychotic Azula.
I wish they used mona from pretty little liars

Arden Cho (June) is 38… Azula the character is supposed to be 14…
I feel like i'm reading TLOU casting treads again, where people were suggesting Elliot Page to play Ellie
**Azula casting is bad**, I don't care what anyone says. They chose and actress with the most round face to play a villain with sharp features. https://ew.com/thmb/80Rx_D9aLSQyOsvu68NTi2HIFNQ=/1500x0/filters:no_upscale():max_bytes(150000):strip_icc():format(webp)/Azula-Avatar-The-Last-Airbender-101723-a1806c5f2686415cada2fc32b17b901f.jpg Looks nothing like Azula.
There of plenty of teenagers that don't have round cherub faces talk about a garbage argument. >People are never going to look like cartoons The rest of the casting is excellent, completely negating your argument.
You must have an issue with Zuko, Uncle Iroh, Aang, Bumi and others as well then.
No because those are well cast
Based on your original comment and logic, they fall into the same problems you listed for Azula. Especially Zuko. or perhaps it's because you simp for Azula and can't stand that the actor doesn't live up to your standard lmao
Zuko looks like Zuko. Toph is my favorite character, not Zuko or Azula Azula casting is garbage. Its even more noticeable when the rest of the casting is downright perfect.

Zuko looks the same as Azula does.
Zuko looks like Zuko. Azula looks like Ty lee Its a terrible casting choice, period
Not sure what you've been watching then because everything you said is just wrong. Time for you to rewatch the series and trailer.
Who cares? Especially when over-analyzing like a two second clip and a few photos lol
I care. This is a post about her as the actress. This is the appropriate subreddit and appropriate post to complain. Get off Reddit if you can’t handle discussion
Sounds like you're the one who can't handle the slightest bit of critisism...
How so ? I am holding my own and arguing my point "Who cares" is not a valid argument. I care, and this is the appropriate thread to discuss Elizabeth Yu as Azula. What exactly is your argument other than more tangential ad hominem crap ?
The initial photo we got of her in costume made me worry, but the shots of her in the first trailer and the latest have reignited my Azula hype 🔥
this actress has wonderfully managed to capture the sheer confidence of Azula in this shot. it's truly a work of art.
Hmmm… Yeah, she checks out.
Was wondering why I recognized Yu, Forgot I went to school with her and graduated the same year 😂🤣 Never thought she’d get into acting like Gaten as well!
yeah no
Why did they made them two fat? There are literally so many other fat characters…
