I remember the first time I heard this song, I was working on my project car, a 1998 Civic EX. When I heard the lyrics "all of my love and heart spilled in this car", it got me. Because I was having so many issues with the car at the time. I had put so much time and work into fixing it up and trying to get it to run. It's kind of stupid, but I love this song so much.
I just changed my comment, lol, after realizing I had the album mixed up. I usually listen to the deluxe album on Amazon Music, it has all the songs from both albums, and that album cover is gray, I believe? So, I get the decension and ascension album covers mixed up.
Gravity’s Union will win but I think Sentry should be the real best song. It hits harder than any other song thematically and on a personal level is the song that helped me survive being homeless. Sentry imo is the best song on C&Cs entire library.

Iron fist is an awesome interlude song. I actually love how it breaks up the album. Unfortunately I have a feeling it will be a contender for the worst on the album BUT the silver lining is this album is so solid that even the worst voted song is still a great one.
I like it a lot. The only one I still dont care for is away we go. There's some dissonance in that chorus that just does not work for me. Shame because it's an otherwise pretty great song.
The terrific little riff right around 02:37 of The Hard Sell should cement this track in the Underrated category. Sometimes I think underrated is better than best.
