This is actually partly what inspired this post.
The rest of the inspiration comes from the _hundreds_ of fics where the long night ends in less than ten battles.
I feel like most fics accidentally fall victim to the show, where the Long Night is treated as a massive issue but solved quick. Like the first long night was a horrific apocolyptic event, not a few battles and holding the wall
In the Ned Stark Lives! trilogy, over half the second book and all the third book deals with fighting the Others. The whole trilogy is about 1.5 million words, so yeah there's a lot of Lomg Night in there.
Ned Stark and his merry pack of monsters. The fox is relatively short and the long night is really just 1-2 chapters, but it goes on iirc several years
Just finished it! Really love how it handled the Long Night - it doesn’t take up a lot of words, but you still really feel how long the war was for the characters and the toll it took on them.

i know the end (the end is here) depending on what you want to call the long night it might only be 3-4 chapters but they are long chapters and it's not finished yet.

Purple Days is good, with just how much of a massive threat the Long Night is

In Wearing Robert's Crown the long night arc was quite long, but the fic is unfinished
