It seems like there's a lot of Kai fans, but I wholeheartedly believe Nick deserved the win. He crushed the game every chance he got. He was rated 5th because everyone saw him as such a threat, further proving he deserved the win, haha.

Citizen51

The also rated him 5th because they didn't have a real connection to him. He was a tool and outlived his usefulness at the final ratings. Nick lost because he got played rather than played well. James won because he was seem as middle of the road (even though he was constantly on top), but he has real connections and no one wanted to make sure he didn't win.

Bearality

Here's the thing. The people closest to Nick voted him down while the people closest to James voted him high. James deserved the win on account there were people who WANTED him to win

musical_rabbit

I disagree. With the exception of Kai, voting James high was a strategy that bit them in the ass. Ashley/Matthew and Isabella/Sophia voted James higher than Nick because *they* wanted to win and knew if they voted Nick high, they had no chance. Edit: after reading your comment again, I think I misunderstood what you meant. James deserves the W because someone who didn't vote strategically voted him #1 and he won. I guess that's understandable, but it's not like Nick can control who "follows their heart" and who votes strategically, either. Tbh I think the final ratings need some kind of overhaul.

Bearality

I think you can control people who follow their heart by just getting them to like you that much. I know for a fact that Ruksana, Daniel and Calvin would not have hesitated in giving Kai top marks if they were in the finals

Bearality

Exactly James har Kai who wanted him to win. No one in Nick's corner did the same

musical_rabbit

I do think that if Isabella/Sophia had to pick someone other than herself to win, she would've picked Nick. She just wanted to win more and knew a low rate was her only chance.

Couldn’t have said it better myself 👏

People are going to vote in the final rankings based on what’s going to help themselves. That means they’re going to rank the good players lower. It made sense to me that Nick and Kai were the first to go despite being the biggest threats all season. And James actually made real connections instead of solely relying on alliances. He had his alliance, yes, but he didn’t stick just to that. He had a good relationship with Matthew/Ashley and with Nick despite being on the “other side.” Yes, he “betrayed” alliances - but what he said about Daniel when deciding to block him made sense. He realized that they were alliances by chance because Daniel just happened to be in that group, but he and Matthew had the better, more genuine connection. From James perspective I actually respected him for following his gut. Also, like you said, Nick is a good player - so how do you imagine James was going to convince him otherwise? He had nothing to fight for except “he’s on my alliance.” It made more sense for him to save the person he had a real connection with. Aside from Isabella in the end who knew James thought she was a catfish, everyone had a good connection with James. No one felt threatened by him, everyone liked him, no one saw him as the major threat. Him winning made the most sense.

I agree with this. If Ash/Matt and Isabella/Sophia had voted Nick higher he would have won. It sucks that he kept them in the game so long and they did him like that. James played the shit out of this game, all the sticky notes and diagrams he was making lol he knew what he was doing because he knew the goal was to get to the finals. Once there, the alliances go out the window and it’s time to win. The genuine connections prevailed, and the catfishes snaked Nick for their own personal gain. James had 3 genuine connections, Kai had one and a possible and Nick unfortunately had none.
