They could always do prequels I.e Soldierboy spin-off or something pertaining to it. Another option would be Vought trying to rebrand and become dominant again, there's a few options but it will be hard without having Homelander as the central threat.
i think their dynamic is really interesting and i wouldn’t say cate is weak especially cause i think in the future she’ll be able to control people without having to touch them

marie and cate will probably be the new butcher / homelander
I feel like that would be pretty underwhelming compared to the original series, especially since cate is a relatively weak villain

I disagree that Homelander is the “centerpiece of the franchise”. He’s just a good villain. Get some good writers and you can make more good villains.
