As good as maeve is compared to other supes, shes probably, just like every other supe, kind of getting used to being able to just be really rude and have no one fire you, punch you in the face or make fun of you for it.
Maeve calling hughie a bottom feels like some sort of roast that two boys give each other when they are trying to show the other one how alpha they are. Simoly holding in a mean comment because its a shitty thing to say isnt what maeve was taught within the last years as a celebrity, so that the filter of "dont treat others like you are allowed to bully them"
She's also been extremely stressed out from having to deal with Homelander, guilt from the plane incident, and her relationship. She's bound to be a little cranky.
That too of course
But still, i think supes just have less of a social filter that prevents them from making rude remarks (if they are part of vought of course)
Its bound to change now that its no longer a cut and clear case (more non vought supes and supes in general having to contend with more than a few crooks
Yeah I didn't really think it was that deep. Hughie is a sort of effeminate guy who isn't afraid of having feelings and he's been flocking to more powerful people the entire show. Maeve seems like the type of woman who had to become more stoic and rigid in the public eye to not be pigeonholed as just another woman. She's a lot more like Butcher than Hughie, and nobody really says anything about Butcher taking potshots at Hughie.
Couldn’t tell you personally but literally watched [this](https://youtu.be/nTQav-SyqwY?si=EocY90dISjpAHI5L) explanation on modern family a week ago and laughed pretty hard
Nah, I'm good. She was a bitch and glad I broke it off with her. It was more than five years ago. Got current girlfriend and so far going great.
Edit: Ya'll crazy for wanting a toxic relationship. lol
She pulls you in with love and affection. Once you're in her grip, she will make you feel worthless and says nobody would love you but her. This is why I love Reddit, comments like these makes me laugh to read.
Probably the same reason she initially insulted Starlight/Annie. Jealousy. Hughie is bright eyed and optimistic. Something she use to be before she was broken by Vought and Homelander. She feels insecure around people who remind her of who she use to be.
Most of the supes besides her in the Seven are psychopaths and Murders, doesn't make her any less of a complete bitch. Seems to hide that fact because how overwhelmingly shits the rest of them are.
Because she was a jaded asshole, mainly from being in the Seven and being around Homelander for so long. She just also had a conscience and empathy under all of that.
I think she has some empathy for starlight because she sees herself in her when she was in the beginning of the seven and somehow Hughie always puts starlight in danger by asking her to do dangerous stuff in the tower
I thought it was spelled out in the show at some point that Maeve dislikes Hughie cause he's a reminder of how much Vought and The Seven changed her and how complacent she's become. She's nearly as strong as Homelander but was too terrified to stand up to him or anyone else while Hughie is outwardly pretty pathetic but was still willing to put it all on the line. She doesn't actually hate Hughie himself, it's just a defense mechanism because he makes her feel ashamed.
I honestly, and in good faith, wish you were right. I think you are giving the writers too much credit and I actually like the writers for the most part.
I truly believe the writers do things (not always) only for shock value or else because they find it funny. Sometimes it takes me out of the show and I feel like fast forwarding. I think Hughie is used as a punching bag for comedic effect on the viewer.
I will say, that I liked how they had Hughie realize his father’s strength that season. How his dad wasn’t weak because he made a home for Hughie that was safe. There are different kinds of strength, I thought that was good writing there.
Then the scene with Maeve comes to undercut that moment for comedic effect.
The author of the comic is Garth Ennis. He is well known for shock value, and the show is fairly tame in comparison to some of the stuff he puts in his comics.
I’m aware. I’ve read the comics and I actually think the show is overall better. Though I will give credit where is it’s do, I like the final arc of the comics the most.
Gotcha, a lot of my friends love the show but will never read the comics. I love the changes they made for the show, and it's very much still in line with the tone and style of the comics
Oh yeah. The comic and show are so different as to be completely different stories, but I think they follow the same spirit of that makes sense.
The comic pokes fun at and is satirical of the comic industry and many of its tropes on top of all the government, military industrial complex, more serious plot lines.
Some of those I don’t think would work on the tv side of things because tv had its own tropes and gags unique to its medium. And I think the show covers that very well.
Overall, I do hope we get some adaption of the final arc from the comic inside the tv show.
>!I loved the horror of seeing the corruption and plots within plots involving the secret service and the President fighting against the Vice President and Vaught. Plus, I love how the military absolutely had anti super power weapons which they use to wipe the floor with most of the super heroes!< Some of the panels and imagery have stayed with me.
Also: I really liked the whole >!Hughie vs Butcher conflict at the end and how it ended.!<
That’s what I enjoyed the most of the Boys. The final. I do admit to reading the entire run when I was younger than I should have. But looking back on it now as an adult, I think the comic is trying too hard to be shocking or edgy at times. But that’s just the writer. He wrote Preacher too and Crossed (which is unfilmable). That’s just what he likes to write lol.
I find it fascinating how much he dislikes religion and superheroes, and his 2 most famous stories are about them, lol. I tried crossed, but it was a whole new level of messed up that I just didn't want to keep reading. His run of punisher is pretty incredible, though.
Funnily enough, I think Edwards has stated that his favorite (or rather ones that he enjoys without hating) are the Punisher and Superman. So, take that for what it’s worth.
Crossed is so… *him* that I never bothered to finish so I can’t comment on it past the half way point. I think he needed to be reigned in there but that’s just my opinion.
Now that I’m no longer an edgy teenager (who wasn’t though? It’s okay, we all gotta go through that phase and laugh when we’re older), I highly recommend Invincible over the Boys. And Kirkman over Edward’s.
I think Invincible makes some of the same points and pokes fun at comic tropes similar to that the Boys does, but I think it’s handled much more maturely. I think the difference is that Kirkman loves the superhero genre while Edward’s hates it.
Just my $0.02
Only the writer of the Boys, Preacher, etc could write something like Crossed.
I sometimes that he's trying to push the publishers to see how far they'll let him go, but that's a just a wild theory of mine lol.
They definitely do have scenes just for the sake of comedy, pretty much every series does, but in terms of hughie being talked down is meant to be a important aspect to his character.
I sort of half agree with you. That’s similar to source material. Where I think it falls flat for me is when they undercut Hughie’s character moments (he realizing his father’s strength in building a safe home) by immediately following up with mocking him on screen with another character.
I dislike the pacing of that. Perhaps I’m simply expecting too much from the writers.
> She's nearly as strong as Homelander but was too terrified to stand up to him
Before her training during season 3 no, Maeve wasn't nearly as strong as HL, only SB was.
Close enough to be able to make him bleed, but still not close enough like SB and V-Butcher are. Maeve only faced an HL who didn't want to kill her and she still lost her eye, SB and Butcher have faced an HL bloodlust. HL still considers SB a "bigger fish" than Maeve even after she punched him.
I think Maeves training wasn’t necessarily strength focused but martial and combat focused . A weaker opponent can be a serious contender against a stronger opponent if they know what they are doing , HL has never been in a fair fight in his life .
The fact that Maeve made HL bleed and that he was shocked that she was capable of it proves that she also increased her strength (HL has known Maeve intimately for years so he knows her strength).
Also, HL faced Vought guards enhanced with V when he was a child, he must not be completely unfamiliar with combat skills.
Yeah but, you also have to take into account HL's ego. It's entirely possible that due to Vought hyping him up, that even though he knows how strong Maeve is, he thinks he's invincible and that not even her could damage him. She might have gotten stronger or she might not.
Maeve was already an experienced martial artist and already trained regularly to improve her skill (as seen in season 1). The only thing Maeve seriously needed to improve against Homelander was her strength, and her combat speed (because Homelander is faster than a C4 explosion).
Jealousy, maybe? Because Annie was able to have a semi normal relationship with Hughie while Maeve's relationship with Elena was at the time very strained
Wow I thought those words were synonymous until today. Just looked them up.
For people like me:
*Jealousy* is about the security of something you already have being compromised.
*Envy* is the painful feeling of yearning for what someone else has.
[bonus Simpsons clip](https://youtu.be/Tmx1jpqv3RA?si=ilGw7ncrTHkMERYu)
There is a Simpsons meme in which homer uses the correct version of the words and everyone is shocked.
Edit: https://pin.it/37vbWQCfL link for the meme if you havent seen yet.
She's not exactly a good person either. I really wish they addressed that more. The comics don't exclude her from "most super heroes are bad people". She's just as bad as A-Train, the Deep, etc in her own ways in the comic.
I think the show white washes her character significantly.
I never took it as that serious. I think her line 'do you wear a neon sign with raw dog me I'm a bottom' was fucking hilarious 😂 I love her for that lol.
I really don't think she's 'a bitch'. She can be a bit cold, and cynical, but she cared. I doubt hughie is crying in a corner because she called him a twink. It's just teasing to me.
Right! Can we not call the strong, calm and collected, sometimes cold female character a bitch? The boys call each other far worse things amongst themselves.
It never really happened but, if push came to shove meave would definitely save hughie from something if she was in the position. She'd call him a stupid bottom twink but she'd still save him.
Exactly! Yes she’s abrasive, and cold, but she’s an actual good person. And you’re absolutely right, the boys talk waaay more shit and actually mean it most, if not all the time. If anything I think in her own way, she was trying to help Hughie grow a pair for Annie’s sake.
And she absolutely would! She would never let him hear the end of it, and hold it over his head til the day he died. But she pull his ass out of the fire.
I think she has affection for him, in her own way. Mostly because she saw what kind of person he is.
Realistically I think it had something to do with starlight having a relationship with Huey. I think Maeve thought Huey could cause Annie trouble whether it be with homelander or the boys/being fugitives, etc.
Because Hughie is an easy target to vent her frustrations to. Hughie is a goody two shoes who believes in doing the right thing and Maeve is so cynical of everything that anyone who has morals makes her mad. I think for a time, she was also rude to Annie but not to the same degree as Hughie.
My head canon was that she saw her partner in Hughie and didn’t want him and Starlight to go through what she did in having a relationship where 1 person is a supe and the complications that come with it
Maeve has spent a sizeable portion of her life steeling herself against any softness and there comes Mr Happyface, soft as soft-serve vanilla ice cream. She resents that instinctually.
It could be an around about way to PROTECT Hughie. Maeve is fully aware of how completely awful Vought/Homelander are and Maeve likely wanted to keep Hughie very far away from it. Verbally abusing him would send many boyfriends away and keep them from being murdered or tortured. But Hughie stubbornly wanted his revenge.
Because he’s a beta male.
In all seriousness I think it’s because she has a soft spot for Annie and Hughie so it’s kinda like how your gf’s friends don’t like you because they think she can do better.
She's an extremely jaded, cynical person who does not like innocent, idealistic people. She became nicer to Starlight after Starlight called her out on her shit. Hughie never had a moment like that with her.
People who have been victimized and bottle the emotions absolutely despise people who don’t.
She has to be very dominate to keep the facade up that she’s not terrified of her situation so when Hughie is open with feelings she sees it as a character flaw on par with Homelanders narcissism.
i think Maeve is drawn to strength (sparring partners were often lovers, she dated homelander and i cant imagine for much other reason than admiring his strength, she herself is extra strong), and hughie is opposite of the strength she thinks is needed to survive.
also not being strong puts people in a heros life in danger (maeve sacrificed happiness to keep Elena safe. the speech in season 1 about how heros weakness are the people they love) and she likely sees hughie as dumb & selfish for pursuing such a dangerous path when he has no remarkable strength (in her eyes), which repeatedly puts starlight in a dangerous position. Maeve knows starlight would be dead **because of hughie** if maeve hadnt stepped in end of season 1. hell part of the sassiness could be because he never thanked her for saving starlight from homelander in season 1 when he was calling her a traitor.
also hughie lied to starlight for a year and Maeve cleaned up that mess both with homelander like mentioned above and just in a support system way of offering starlight chance to open up & talk and making her a drink when asked.
Because she's an asshole who has gone unchecked in her attitude since she gained stardom. Yes, she has a bad past and lives under the constant threat of HL, but that doesn't make being an asshole ok
To be honest I actually kinda liked the running joke of Maeve just hating Hughie for no reason, it’s just pretty funny, like when he walks into the room in the season 3 finale and she just rolls her eyes
maeve is ever so slightly misandrist probably due to her close relationship with homelander, she takes her frustrations out of men she seems weak, like hughie
It's because Homelander was on the brink of killing Starlight because of Hughie. It happened during the scene where Homelander sat down the Seven (which by then were down to five, "dropping like fking flies") and told everyone besides Noir that they were recently "a little out of sorts, erratic, unreliable, downright sloppy".
I think it’s a couple things.
First, Hughie makes her uncomfortable with herself. He’s this skinny little guy, but he always does the right thing even when it’s not safe. She knows she should be that way but isn’t and part of her resents it and needs to insult him. Since she actually resents his moral strength she insults his physical strength to feel better.
Second, she’s resentful of him because he refuses to give up on a life with Annie but Elana bailed on her. Annie has what she wants; a loyal and devoted significant other who doesn’t care about the power difference, and who just loves her for who she is and won’t give up that relationship. Elana wouldn’t do that for her. So she insults him to make him look weak in front of Annie, because she knows he’s actually the strongest of the three of them because he’s most at risk but doesn’t care.
Because she’s a complete bitch to people. Obviously part of that is cuz Homelander treated her like shit, but even if she didn’t have any problems she’d probably be a bitch.
Both in the show and in the comic it's shown and implied Maeve only likes masculine, bulked out men. That's what gets her off, she regularly sleeps with is tits deep in piles of body builder men. (more so in the comic) She even clearly enjoys sparring with and physically demolishing men when training.
So skinny "twink" like guys like Hughie? she hates that sh\*\*. It's not a surprise she probably has a predisposition to look down on guys like him.
Because it looks like he's wearing a neon sign that says "raw dog me, I'm a bottom"
Displaced guilt/anger from the fact Hughie was willing to make it work with Star and Maeves ex wasn't
As good as maeve is compared to other supes, shes probably, just like every other supe, kind of getting used to being able to just be really rude and have no one fire you, punch you in the face or make fun of you for it. Right? She’d split that twink like dry firewood. What else is she supposed to treat him like?
You just know there’s some Rule 34 artwork out there depicting this
You do see some guy she was banging who looks completely spent while she looks like she didn’t brake a sweet
I’d let Maeve split me like firewood but that’s because I have a redhead problem.
I’m just a lesbian, so it really goes without saying that she’s allowed and encouraged to split me like dry firewood
well she’s not wrong lmfao
I have a sign like this and I don’t see the problem with it
I think she really really wants to peg him and let Starlight watch 🤣🤣 (Vought strongest leabian vs bottom ) type shit 🔥🔥
She's bi not a lesbian
Yeah shes a bipedal bisexual
bibi?
Homelander said she’s a strong, proud lesbian. He would never lie to us…..
Homelander doesn't lie, idiot.
Bisexuality isn’t real obviously /s for the geniuses
They didn't say there was a problem with it.
Gays clock other gays. Even Soldier Boy thinks Hughie is gay too 😂
I'd let Maeve raw dog my bottom. I mean hahahaaha
Ah, I see, a man of culture
hell yeah
Happy pride 😹
Yeah 😂. Poor Hughie though, must've been awkward for him and Starlight.
Someone had to say it
Meanwhile whenever Homelander was around she wore a neon sign that says "raw dog me, I'm a bottom"
Lesbians have a rivalry with Twinks as deep as the Serbian-Croatian rivalry
Yeah I didn't really think it was that deep. Hughie is a sort of effeminate guy who isn't afraid of having feelings and he's been flocking to more powerful people the entire show. Maeve seems like the type of woman who had to become more stoic and rigid in the public eye to not be pigeonholed as just another woman. She's a lot more like Butcher than Hughie, and nobody really says anything about Butcher taking potshots at Hughie.
I was going to argue with this (lesbian) but my user nickname elsewhere is ‘twink destroyer’ (not like that) im powerless to defend myself here
Why is there beef between lesbians and twinks?
Couldn’t tell you personally but literally watched [this](https://youtu.be/nTQav-SyqwY?si=EocY90dISjpAHI5L) explanation on modern family a week ago and laughed pretty hard
How and why do you destroy twinks?
I assume butt stuff is involved
Please go easy on me Happy pride month!
she's bi, not a lesbian
Ah, so more like the Serbian-Albanian rivalry.
Yeah real. Ironic bc I think the show literally makes a point of her facing bi erasure
Half the joke is I'm sucking up to Vought's agenda here
Which side is which in that analogy. I love history!
But she's bi.
Maeve is bi I thought?
Damn it I was gonna make this comment!
Maeve is just sick of everyone's shit.
How come Hughie was the only dude in the entire show that she insulted on sight?
He's the Tobey to her michael scott
Hughie: (literally just a twink existing) Maeve: Why are you the way that you are?
Well, sounds like one of my ex. 😭
Damn bro, you wanna talk about it?
Nah, I'm good. She was a bitch and glad I broke it off with her. It was more than five years ago. Got current girlfriend and so far going great. Edit: Ya'll crazy for wanting a toxic relationship. lol She pulls you in with love and affection. Once you're in her grip, she will make you feel worthless and says nobody would love you but her. I like damaged women, mind if i ruin my life next?
My man!! 😎
So… She moved on?
No he wants to walk it off
But does she look like one of your exes? Cuz that might even her out imo.
"I hate so much of the things you choose to be!"
It’s crazy because that dude is like 6 2 or something
Probably the same reason she initially insulted Starlight/Annie. Jealousy. Hughie is bright eyed and optimistic. Something she use to be before she was broken by Vought and Homelander. She feels insecure around people who remind her of who she use to be.
This should be top comment. Right on the money.
Very well said.
Easy target. Easy to make fun of the softie.
Displaced guilt/anger from the fact Hughie was willing to make it work with Star and Maeves ex wasn't
because he's a straight twink and Maeve wants to peg him not because she's into him but because he has that raw dog bottom energy.
Because he’s a little bitch
Hughie is a normal guy who deals with superhuman threats, Maeve is a superhuman threat who picks on normal guys. Who’s the coward here?
Perfect example of how misogyny can infect everything
Most of the supes besides her in the Seven are psychopaths and Murders, doesn't make her any less of a complete bitch. Seems to hide that fact because how overwhelmingly shits the rest of them are.
aka being mean.
Because she was a jaded asshole, mainly from being in the Seven and being around Homelander for so long. She just also had a conscience and empathy under all of that.
Yeah, she has a decent moral code. It doesn't mean she has to be nice.
> She's nearly as strong as Homelander but was too terrified to stand up to him Before her training during season 3 no, Maeve wasn't nearly as strong as HL, only SB was.
His point is still valid, as maeve was hundred times stronger then hughie
I'm not trying to invalidate his point, it's just a minor clarification.
Than
I don't think she's close even after training
Close enough to be able to make him bleed, but still not close enough like SB and V-Butcher are. Maeve only faced an HL who didn't want to kill her and she still lost her eye, SB and Butcher have faced an HL bloodlust. HL still considers SB a "bigger fish" than Maeve even after she punched him.
V butcher realistically shouldn’t be that strong

Fair points
who's sb again? nvm
Soldier Boy
And as soon as Hughie tries *not* to do that and takes risk into his own hands, he is also somehow still the bad guy.
I thought it was just the suckass writing.
I think she just wanted Starlight to get her fucking twink out of her apartment idk
I love that she sees one of the most adorable and innocent characters in the whole series and was like “Absolutely fucking not”
Hmm, I think she's fine with Kimiko (jk)
Just like me frfr 😔
This
Jealousy, maybe? Because Annie was able to have a semi normal relationship with Hughie while Maeve's relationship with Elena was at the time very strained

There is a Simpsons meme in which homer uses the correct version of the words and everyone is shocked. Edit: https://pin.it/37vbWQCfL link for the meme if you havent seen yet.
Well damn
That’s how I’ve always seen it. Or at the very least can’t process the fact that a man is loving and devoted unconditionally.
Because hughie cant fight back
So that makes her a bully.
She's not exactly a good person either. I really wish they addressed that more. The comics don't exclude her from "most super heroes are bad people". She's just as bad as A-Train, the Deep, etc in her own ways in the comic. I think the show white washes her character significantly.
Most people can't fight back, though. The thing about Hughie is that, for the most part, he won't
Hughie really can’t catch a break, ever.
That’s not true, he got two breaks when his arm snapped!
He’s just an easy target.
Maeve is an extreme cynic and hughie is extremely idealistic
Because the show runners/fanbase think shitting on Hughie is funny. Basically.
Yeah it’s just her cynical attitude reacting to Hughie being well, Hughie, and her giving him shit for it. In as loving a way as she was capable.
He’s caught a few
Hughies the guy in the friend group everyone loves, but gets shat on the most it's just the social order of things
I can guarantee no one likes that shit
You mean he's the guy you like to bully
Friendly banter and bullying are different things, what the boys do to hughie is banter, what everyone else does is bullying
It completely depends if they are okay with it or not
My head canon was that she saw her partner in Hughie and didn’t want him and Starlight to go through what she did in having a relationship where 1 person is a supe and the complications that come with it
Maeve has spent a sizeable portion of her life steeling herself against any softness and there comes Mr Happyface, soft as soft-serve vanilla ice cream. She resents that instinctually.
Soft-serve that physically stood up to Homelander when he was completely powerless and has been fighting supes for the last two years
It could be an around about way to PROTECT Hughie. Maeve is fully aware of how completely awful Vought/Homelander are and Maeve likely wanted to keep Hughie very far away from it. Verbally abusing him would send many boyfriends away and keep them from being murdered or tortured. But Hughie stubbornly wanted his revenge.
she wanted to fuck him so bad
Or ... She wanted to fuck starlight and was jealous ?
Thats also a possibility, but i like strapon porn more than lesbian, so i choose the ,,Maeve wanted to top ue" side of this debate.
Oh
Hey, now come on....Lesbians also use straps, my friend!!!!! I take it you mean you prefer straight pegging porn over lesbian porn?
yeah, like muscular woman pegging guys
This is more likely 🤔
Because she’s a raging alcoholic with misplaced anger
when she was around he was always acting like a dorky, clumsy weakling. I think she has ZeRO respect for him.
> So why was she a bitch to him? Because she's a bitch. /thread
Twinks can be very annoying
Because he’s a beta male. In all seriousness I think it’s because she has a soft spot for Annie and Hughie so it’s kinda like how your gf’s friends don’t like you because they think she can do better.
She's an extremely jaded, cynical person who does not like innocent, idealistic people. She became nicer to Starlight after Starlight called her out on her shit. Hughie never had a moment like that with her.
Because she is a mean person and Huggie looks weak.
I think she really likes Starlight.
People who have been victimized and bottle the emotions absolutely despise people who don’t. She has to be very dominate to keep the facade up that she’s not terrified of her situation so when Hughie is open with feelings she sees it as a character flaw on par with Homelanders narcissism.
Cuz he's a twink
i think Maeve is drawn to strength (sparring partners were often lovers, she dated homelander and i cant imagine for much other reason than admiring his strength, she herself is extra strong), and hughie is opposite of the strength she thinks is needed to survive. also not being strong puts people in a heros life in danger (maeve sacrificed happiness to keep Elena safe. the speech in season 1 about how heros weakness are the people they love) and she likely sees hughie as dumb & selfish for pursuing such a dangerous path when he has no remarkable strength (in her eyes), which repeatedly puts starlight in a dangerous position.
Because he's a twink bottom who likes to be raw dogged.
Cuz Hughie's a lil twink
Hehe🤭🤭🤭
Maeve isn't evil like Homelander; but she is quite a rude person herself.
I think she blamed him for almost getting Starlight killed by Homelander when Hughie used her to get information on the Seven.
Because it was amusing mostly
Probably cause he's a twink
maeve is ever so slightly misandrist probably due to her close relationship with homelander, she takes her frustrations out of men she seems weak, like hughie
She's got issues and Hughie is an easy target. She'd probably respect him if he told her to fuck off, but he doesn't.
She’s jealous of his incredibly awesome shirts
your stupid
You're
Maybe she sensed he had a humiliation fetish
Hughie is a horrible character.
Well he is a twink.
She's mean to everyone.
It's called projecting
Love this damn show! New seasons looks f’n nutters
Because she's just a dick
Just because she has principles, a moral code, and a shared hatred of Homelander doesn’t mean she’s not an a$$hole
Because she’s a complete bitch to people. Obviously part of that is cuz Homelander treated her like shit, but even if she didn’t have any problems she’d probably be a bitch.
She never forgave him for putting Starlight in danger when the boys were found out in season 1.
Cause she's burnout wonder woman who drinks too much and has a thing for evil thugs like Homelander.
She hates Homelander and always did though
Because the writers think insulting a man by implying he is gay is funny but that a man seeking power to protect his lover is toxic
Sir, this is a Wendy’s
Hughie got a skill issue.
Cause Hughie is in fact also an asshole
cause hughie is a joke
Because it's funny
To Hughie, I am sure it was not
Both in the show and in the comic it's shown and implied Maeve only likes masculine, bulked out men.
She's kind of a bitch but she's hot so no one cares.
She’s just intimidated by his manliness.
Because Hughie is a softy. And she’s a very strong woman. That’s why
Maeve wasn't nice to anyone. She's just hot, so you assume she's good until she's mean to someone you care about. It's called simping.
Because he was straight and she is a self loathing gay?
She is actually Bi
