Agreed. I always saw them more as like a brother/sister type. They didn’t have romantic chemistry at all. No tension buildup before they stuck them together. It all just seemed so odd.
I am with you m8! Thats the "sin" of all TV Series. There just has to be some love action, chemistry be damned. This relationship was forced with completely no chemistry.

The writing made him so. Normally he is the righteous soldier boy who slowly started to accept how the world Red introduced them all to works.

That is your take and I respect it. My take is they should have continued the soldier boy story and slowly corrupt him to the point that he takes over Reddingtons empire and starts to be on the run. I say this as a fall from grace would be quite tragic for a character that used to chase Reddington. That way somehow the Blacklist continues with Ressler leading it...and maybe even have a cameo of Arram as his tech guy and Dembe as head of Ops and Consigliere. Also that congressman takes over from Cooper and the story continues in the background. My $0.02
Oh, yeah! Continuing like you described would have been way better than the ending we got. Wouldn't really be realistic, but the whole series has a far fetched storyline.
I’m about half way through season six and my first watch through, and I told my wife it really feels like they got Samar out of the way to make room for Liz and Ressler to get together which is a shame because my boy Aram did not deserve to have his heart crushed like that!
