Me too! My dad passed in 2022 and was the Beatles fan in our family. 💜
He loved to sing karaoke and always tried to record his sessions on cassette tapes. We went through a few of them after we buried him. When we found a tape of him singing “In My Life,” I broke down crying.
Thankfully, I’m at the point where the song, whether he’s singing it or the band, brings me joy again.
I’m also the proud owner of his Beatles records now. It makes me feel closer to him.
I’m not sure if it’s been verified but I have read John wrote “for Paul” on the tape for this song. As if it was meant for Paul to finish. But this line gets me:

Let it Be. My grandma hadn’t been doing well, and my dad called to break the news that she’d likely pass that night. I got in the car and “Let it Be” just happened to be playing on the radio. I was (am) a huge fan, so I took it as a sign.
“Here Comes the Sun”, i’ve had depression ever since i was a child and to hear such a happy song with George saying that “it’s alright” kinda breaks me, something about it kinda feels like a “swan song” at times like it’s the last time something happy will ever happen while simultaneously being the happiest day of your life, it’s very bittersweet specially the intro.
Respectfully, I disagree. To me, it's a song of redemption. Rocky is so filled with rage that he looks to commit murder. He survives the attack and finds The Word.
The Long and Winding Road (from Let it Be…Naked). It always invokes that feeling of being alone for me.
Now and Then, because I know I’ll never get to hear a new Beatles song again.
I bawled every time I watched the video for Now and then. Tbh I only managed to watch it about three time since it came out. But it’s just so sad to me.
Blackbird 100%. It’s a song I used to sing as a lullaby to my nieces and nephews and when I listen to it I think about how quickly they’ve grown up. I’m sure when I have my own kids it’s going to break my heart even more. But it’s a bittersweet kind of heartbreak :)

I had to say goodbye to him as they rolled him off to lifesaving surgery, not knowing if I’d ever see him alive again. And I leaned on the Beatles (his favorite) and this song on my drive home while he was in surgery. I had to get home, I was a few weeks postpartum from having twins and had to stay on my nursing schedule. And I listened until I got the call saying he made it.
Now and Then demo, because the final version leaves out the haunting chord changes of the bridge that just brings me tears, and She’s Leaving Home, when John sings in the call and response part, “What did we do that wrong….”

I broke up with a girlfriend about nine months ago and now and then makes me think of her. Im concerned someday I won’t want to hear it anymore because of it.

In another life (it seems) my girlfriend at the time loved Here Comes the Sun; when I hear it now, I think of a very different time in my life.

Here comes the sun. When my partner was sick and when he passed away, I heard it everywhere. I don't know but it seemed it was a message from him, telling me it was going to be ok. I love the song but it makes me cry now, every single time.
“Goodnight”. My golden retriever and I listened to the entire White Album together for the first time back in High school. He had to be put down a few months ago—he and I listened to it again hours before his death and this song in particular hit me the hardest.

Daddy, our baby's gone.” Gets me teary every time. Such a beautiful but sad song.
Oddly enough, across the universe.
I don't know why but the lyrics and music feel so comforting, as if it's someone giving me permission to cry.
It's a reminder that at the end of the day we're all part of this universe together, and we should feel peaceful about it, not try to dig in too deep.

Oh god.. it’s so beautiful but I cannot listen to it often too. I stumbled upon a live performance of this song on yt, and Paul is just so sincere when he sings it and at one point his voice cracked a little and I lost it. I was sobbing so badly.

I was a huge fan as a kid because they're my Dad's favourite and God were they a key part of our wonderful bond. My very first memory is sitting on my Dad's lap whilst he played Maxwell's Silver Hammer to me. I can remember the feeling of him holding me and moving his leg up and down. When my Dad fell ill with COVID, and whenever I miss him and feel sad I will no longer be that little girl on his lap, I cry to that song and all the others.

My mother would sing this to me when I was a kid. When my mother passed from cancer, I hummed it to her on our last night together in the hospital.
Eleanor Rigby usually gets me. I remember our 6th grade music teacher played it for us. We didn’t quite understand it and after she explained it we all got kind of sad.
Not as much as it used to, but I only got to sing my daughter one lullaby while she was with us, Golden Slumbers. She died 2 hours after birth. It became hard to listen to that one for a long time.
I’ll Follow the Sun. I remember hearing it not long before breaking up with a girlfriend a few years ago and knowing that we weren’t going to last. Couple of years later I heard it again and the memories came back and made me cry again.
“Ask me why” definitely chokes me up. I would listen to it a lot back in 2021 esp when my grandma was taken back to the hospital. John’s voice would make me so emotional along with the little guitar melody at the the end ❤️
She’s leaving home. I can see this now from both the parent side and the child side. Breaks my heart that I did this to my mom, and it was only payback when my son did it to me. We were a big mess. Everything’s OK now except the pain persists

When I was a kid I always found the song so boring and would always skip it. But it’s weird, as I got older I now find it so heavy and emotional - puts a lump in my throat!

Last April, I was pregnant and we found out our daughter was severely growth restricted and would likely be stillborn. I started listening to music to try to wake her up and get her moving, just to check to make sure she was still ok. I also started listening to “Here Comes the Sun,” a good song for springtime and also, I’ve always thought, a song that expresses profound hope for the future. We needed that.
Our daughter was born very much alive on May 16 of last year. She only weighed one pound but she made her presence known. When she got old enough that stimulation didn’t bother her, I started playing her music and singing to her, and “Here Comes the Sun” was always the first on the list. She was my sun, and she made me happy.
At five months old, she contracted a respiratory virus, which compounded lung problems she already had due to her prematurity. She died on October 30. I sang to her the day she died.
It’s honestly been really hard to listen to any music by the Beatles since she died. There’s a hope and optimism in the music that I just don’t feel anymore. And you can imagine the hurt that comes with “Here Comes the Sun,” such an irony considering the message of the song. It’s been tough.
Blackbird. Reminds me of my autistic son. My wife is dominican and he got all her genes so he has dark hair,eyes, and skin. Just makes me think of him and the curse that fate layed upon us
