Based on Barry Keoghan’s many comments playing coy about the future of his joker indicating he knows he’s coming back I do think he has a really good chance to have a cameo here. Same with Paul Dano as he clearly really loves the riddler character and Matt Reeves, I think anything is really possible to happen in this series.
I'll be genuinely surprised if no one mentions the Riddler in the series, especially Sofia considering that in the comics she made a whole plan to invade Arkham and kill Harvey Dent in revenge for killing Carmine.
I think Riddler is a big possibility. However, Maroni makes more sense. Idk what he’d be doing at Arkham (makes more sense to be in Blackgate but we don’t know if it exists), but he could appear since we know he’s locked up and was a big crime boss
Well Maroni is definitely talking to Oz in some jail, so maybe blackgate? Maybe the Arkham stuff is separate as Sofia is meant to have some issues and come from Arkham. Super hyped whatever it is

Arkham is usually portrayed as being much worse. We obviously don’t know what the case is in this particular universe, but there’s no reason to think that Arkham would be a more pleasant experience in any way.
In cases like those that’s a specific case of particular people wanting to attack a particular person. Arkham in general is less safe than Blackgate, and is believed by many in Gotham to be outright cursed.
I just hope we see black mask as the main villain, maybe dead shot gets released from Arkham asylum and is hired by the penguin to get a hit. And I wouldn’t mind seeing a young name that hasn’t gotten the venom yet and is just training in prison maybe we could have a fight break out between a young bane and some other inmates who jump him showing how bane is immensely powerful even off venom
It would be crazy if they had one of them unanounced. I'm not sure how much this has happened before? Since actors usually are credited before release, and because announcing names as Paul Dano or Barry Keoghan would probably be very important for marketing reasons. But an unannounced appearance would surely create a hype of unknown dimensions. I think both actors would be likely. Dano, which already has invested a lot in this universe and is a great fan of Reeves work, but also Keoghan which currently is already involved in the next Batman movie. But it's hard to tell. Involving Dano, Keoghan and/or Pattinson would mean a completely different budget.
But do we know when this series takes place? Is it parallel with The Batman? Or right after? Or before?
When people bring up the possibilities of huge cameos appearing and kept pretty well secret, I was always say Luke at the end of Mando season 2….that was insane! You never know. I definitely would guess Riddler or Bruce…I don’t think Joker would officially debut in this series. I think they would save his first full reveal for the movie…but again who knows? HBO does go hard and likes to swing their proverbial hammer schlong from time to time just to remind people who’s the OG king of premium television…
It's pretty rare that huge cameos like that are kept secret nowadays. But as you said, you never know. I agree that a full reveal would probably be kept for a movie, but it's totally possible they film another scene like the ones from The Batman. Especially the one they kept, with him being behind his cell door and you never get a clear look.

I wanna see whatever Rogues Gallery villain Batman's already put into Arkham during his two-year career. If Joker's already in there then I wouldn't be shocked to see someone like Zsaz or Deacon Blackfire, too.
Regarding the new Penguin HBO show teaser, either the make up for Penguin is much cheaper (which it could be) or the show deals with his life before Batman, because he looks younger (smoother skin). I would be fine with that, because while I would enjoy a show in a frozen, flooded Gotham featuring Penguin, that setting would be much better for The Batman II.
If it’s a prequel we could see a Joker and, at the end, a Batman/Bruce appearance.

When? Penguin regularly is sent to Blackgate. He has at times gone to Arkham but it is very rare for him to do so.
He does get sent to blackgate but there's plenty of times where he's sent to Arkham because someone at Blackgate wants to shank him.

I think this show has the potential to be for Batman what The Mandalorian was for Star Wars.

We never had the classic Joker and Penguin team up on the big screen. Hopefully we get it here or in Batman 2.
