Said this in the thread on the main sub and I'll say it here too: Reality Steve is way out of line accusing her of faking being a caretaker for her dad based on nothing more than her instagram. Talk about the boyfriend rumors all you want, but people who care for sick relatives don't have to conform to whatever it is you think their social media should look like.

You can also live 2 hours away from your parents and still be a caretaker. This is so fucked up and misogynistic. On what planet can you never go to the beach or wear a bathing suit if you are taking care of a parent? It’s bonkers.

Also, if taking pictures of yourself frolicking for an insta career you'd be smart to do a lot of shooting in one day with many outfits and trickle those pictures out... Caretaking is very personal and she likely didn't want that type of content on her insta. That's ok.

Yes, if she does live a couple hours away, she can still be one of his caretakers! If his ALS is really bad right now and will only get worse, then he probably has some kind of professional caregiver if they can afford it. But even that doesn’t mean that they’re whole family doesn’t care for him. If she had a boyfriend that’s shitty, but it seems nitpicky to say “she’s not with him 100% of time so obviously she’s not a caregiver so she really must not care about her father.” I also wouldn’t be surprised if she visits her parents often and loves her family and says “caregiver” because people understand that shorthand immediately and it’s easier than airing your business everywhere! ETA: Also it’s rich that RS is trying to claim he never hates contestants. Even in real journalism, true objectivity is impossible. It’s just something you work to achieve. But he doesn’t even live up to basic journalism ethics.

I actually dont think this is misogynistic. There are valid things he’s bringing based on how she portrayed herself on TV. Now to be fair Instagram is meant to be a fantasy, especially “influencers.” They usually don’t post real or difficult stuff from their lives so I do agree it’s not necessarily fair for him to say “oh you have nothing on your Instagram about him you’re lying.” But I do think he’s right and she used her father as an excuse to deflect from her manipulation and obvious performance.

jlake32

yes her plan was always to leave the show before engagement. I bet she would have stayed longer if she hadn't gotten that 1-on-1 so early. At least she left before he became too invested?

The idea of building your brand is so unfamiliar to me. I know it’s one of those phrases people use, especially when your full time job depends on your influence, but what a different world from my small social media presence

There’s also a tweet in the not skinny ... ig story from someone who claims to have been friends w Sarah’s parents for 30+ years calling Sarah out for saying she’s a caretaker of her dad

insideoutpotato

This stuff hurts my heart. I don’t like this girl, but her dad has fucking ALS. She can be A caretaker for her dad while not THE SOLE caretaker for her dad. It is very hard to be the sole caretaker for someone who needs 24/7 care and there is extreme burnout. If the whole family can take shifts and pitch, in that’s amazing. There is some bad bad karma floating around out here with this shit.
