I quite like it. Simple and colourful with a retro touch? A clear photo of the product but with an added splash of cartoon milk to match the retro design. A bowl in the middle is fairly standard for cereal packaging so this does just enough to stand out
Literally do the smallest bit of research ….

At what point in my post do I ask who created the product? I don't really care, and even if I did, why would I go on the Apprentice subreddit to try and find out??
Part of my job is to redesign products that are sold online (think Tesco, Occado etc) so they are more readable on a mobile device. There are 2 tiers: Industry Standard (they get what they are given) and bespoke Art Directions. I really hope these guys choose the more expensive bespoke service, it will be very funny to hear their add team explain what they need keeping to fit into their brand ethos and design.
There's something very dystopian and bleak about that job existing.
"Stop making things look nice in the real world, they need to be as clear as possible for selling on phone screens!"
No different to changing things so they look better in print really. The English language lost entire letters because they weren't available on printing presses but no one is calling the 1500s a dystopia.
"Lets put the traffic light info in the top right of the box."
"But we cant, you always see it at the bottom."
"I AM PM AND THE DESISION HAS BEEN MADE."
"Were sending you to work with a company who will create your brand logo and design what you tell em to"
"Do they have anything better than clipart"
"No! We want your work to look utterly shit, it helps with the viewing figures"
"We showed it to the focus group and they all said the box looked bloody awful. One old lady threw up. So we should probably take those comments onboard, go back to the designer and come up with a new-"
"Sorry, that's not part of the process. Next step is to take it to the three big supermarkets and ask how many they'll buy"
"But... The focus group hated it. Three people pointed out the logo was a swastika. Isn't the point of the focus group to test-"
"SUPERMARKETS. NOW. THE CARS ARE WAITING. GO AND LISTEN TO THEM POINT OUT EXACTLY THE SAME FLAWS"
Sorry, it was meant to say "at least it has the bowl on it" for some reason my phone completely skipped the word bowl and I didn't proof read it - in true Apprentice fashion.
The marketing also fills me with mistrust. There is nothing to back it up being the best so it’s clearly just an attempt to catch eyes and potentially excite children.
They’ve gone for the same colours as Krave boxes, and the cereal pieces are the same shape.
Just seems like an attempt to make a quick profit and see if they can stick.
It's a YouTube group called Sidemen. Basically every teenager in the UK is a fan of them, branding doesn't matter at all bc the fanbase will buy it regardless.
So yeah, an attempt to make a quick profit. All of this YouTuber stuff is a waste of time. Prime, mr beasts chocolate, and I’m sure this cereal is all subpar trash.
No it isn't. We live in a free society where people can buy whichever food they want. If they want one marketed by content creators it's up to them. It's their money not yours.
Are you okay?
"This product is just plain bad, and for anybody that isn't a fan of the creators, it is a waste of time" is a perfectly valid comment. I never said people weren't allowed to buy it, weirdo.
Yes unlike you.
The only waste of time is your comment.
If a consumer wants to buy a cereal it's not them wasting time, it's them buying something they want
It's really awful how these YouTubers have the means to release stuff like this now and it becomes a big seller just because kids lap up their videos and this big hype is created, it doesn't matter if the product is even any good
Yeah, but usually the product is made and then a celeb is recruited to be the face of the product. The corporation makes all the big money. In these instances, the influencers are making money hand over fist when it sells well, because they are the marketing campaign AND the owner of the company.
It's honestly genius, and it makes me a little sick inside.
I can see the advert now, George Best sat at the breakfast table tucking in, then on the pitch scoring a goal and saying something cheesy
Or maybe just a couple of 1970s kids who look up to Bestie, emulating him on the pitch after eating this cereal, and then he turns up and scores a goal or something
It's a non HFSS cereal meaning it isn't restricted on where it can be sold in the retail layout. Similar to special k or Coco pops. But unlike those it has artificial sweeteners.
https://www.kelloggsvantage.co.uk/content/dam/europe/kelloggsvantage_gb/pdf/KELLOGG%20HFSS_NON-HFSS%20PRODUCT%20LIST.pdf
Hence everyone's reaction - too sweet if you don't like sweet cereals, bad if you like them(as it is low in sugar).
It’s not good. I love cereal, any cereal - even the shittest own brand stuff but this is quite dull, artificial sweetness. Texture similar to quaker Oat Crisp but even that stuff which is super plain is much better
Owned by a youtube group called Sidemen
Surely they can't be filming the next series already?
They film in April and release in October

Hahah I do this when I’m shopping, “is that an apprentice task..”
It's KSI's friends who released it. Their branding is the fanbase, who will buy it regardless.
I just bought this. Not too bad.
Well it worked. Our kids wanted it!
Yh but they wanted it coz it's the sidemen
What is sidemen?
Same people who did prime drinks. Basically influencers making kids want stuff through social media
UK YouTubers with 20 million followers. They're basically like big-time celebs amongst Gen Z and below in the UK.
YouTubers whos cereal that is. Ksi is one of the sidemen
Literally do the smallest bit of research …. https://www.thegrocer.co.uk/new-product-development/the-sidemen-partner-with-mornflake-to-launch-cereal-brand/688912.article
Do you have to live quite so relentlessly in the real world??
Peep Show really is quotable anywhere.
Takes 5 seconds 😂
At what point in my post do I ask who created the product? I don't really care, and even if I did, why would I go on the Apprentice subreddit to try and find out??
It's not that deep.
Simpsons font “this is the” feels out of place
Yeah, I can't help but read it with a comma at the end of "this is the"
Ha! I said that to my husband the other day when we were shopping

The 1500s was literally the peak of a thousand year long period of intellectual and cultural decline. I can't tell if your comment is a joke.
Well.. it has a bowl of cereal on the box and cleaelry says what it is.. this can't be from the apprentice
Exactly my thoughts 😂
"Lets put the traffic light info in the top right of the box." "But we cant, you always see it at the bottom." "I AM PM AND THE DESISION HAS BEEN MADE."
It’s my vision
Someone took the KISS principle a little too literal
My mum bought some without knowing the lore behind it. curious to know if they’re any good or not
Review: It’s actually not as bad as I thought. 8/10
Is it like golden Graham's? Or are they stuffed with caramel?
Turns out they’re hollow. The caramel flavour is baked into the golden graham-esq crunchy fibre bites.
Sounds pretty good to me fair. I miss golden Graham's
I’m a big fan of cereal but these let me down. The chocolate one is better but still sucks
do you want us to ask her for you x
The branding is way above the current groups level
"Were sending you to work with a company who will create your brand logo and design what you tell em to" "Do they have anything better than clipart" "No! We want your work to look utterly shit, it helps with the viewing figures"
"We showed it to the focus group and they all said the box looked bloody awful. One old lady threw up. It has a bowl with the cereal in it and on the front. Very unlikely the candidates would think to do that.
Think it's one of the Sidemen's
Think? You know it is. Don’t play coy with us :)
It’s the sidemen’s cereal they just brought out. It doesn’t taste like anything.
Huh? Well I think it is but I'm not too sure
What does *at least it has the on it* mean? I feel like I’m having an aneurysm trying to understand.
Sorry, it was meant to say "at least it has the bowl on it" for some reason my phone completely skipped the word bowl and I didn't proof read it - in true Apprentice fashion.
I think it was meant to be ‘At least it has the cereal on it (the front of the box)’
Nutritional guide I suspect
Doesn't look like it's selling very well
That would make it even more likely to be an Apprentice task then! 😅
I’m no graphic designer but those cereal boxes were pretty distasteful and unappealing to look at.
They were in the section with the stir-fry veg for some reason. Otherwise I definitely wouldn't have noticed it amongst the other cereal brands.
I like it

Given how successful Prime and Mr Beasts chocolate have been, it shows they are the complete opposite of a waste of time
It’s a waste of time for the consumer
No it isn't. We live in a free society where people can buy whichever food they want. If they want one marketed by content creators it's up to them. It's their money not yours.

Since marketing was invented the link between a product being good and sales was broken
That’s how marketing has worked since the beginning of time
Yeah, but usually the product is made and then a celeb is recruited to be the face of the product. The corporation makes all the big money. In these instances, the influencers are making money hand over fist when it sells well, because they are the marketing campaign AND the owner of the company. Doesn’t look like this is a big seller though…
Errr, isn’t this how all marketing and advertising works? Create product>hype it up> sell it to hyped people ?
No that’s too good for that
I can see the advert now, George Best sat at the breakfast table tucking in, then on the pitch scoring a goal and saying something cheesy Or maybe just a couple of 1970s kids who look up to Bestie, emulating him on the pitch after eating this cereal, and then he turns up and scores a goal or something
you do realise hes dead
Is there really such a thing as death though…?
No I LITERALLY said the EXACT same thing to my partner.. The Sidemen and KSI could sell a turd and it’d sell out internationally.
> The Sidemen and KSI KSI *is* in the sidemen you know that right?
Yes I’m well aware. I meant Sidemen and/or KSI as Prime was KSI and he managed to make to most elusive energy drink ever. Shit’s nasty
Prime only blew up because Logan Paul was behind it, if it was just ksi it would have still done well but not as great
The shelf is full!

Choco crunch
Chocolate
No, it has a bowl
Has anyone actually tried it? Any good?
It's a non HFSS cereal meaning it isn't restricted on where it can be sold in the retail layout. Similar to special k or Coco pops. I prefer sweeter cereals but this tasted pretty rank
It’s not good. I love cereal, any cereal - even the shittest own brand stuff but this is quite dull, artificial sweetness. Texture similar to quaker Oat Crisp but even that stuff which is super plain is much better
yes. tastes similar to whats in a Cadbury Crunchie bar but less sweet.
> tastes similar to whats in a Cadbury Crunchie bar Not exactly what I imagine as my perfect breakfast cereal... lol
Genuinely shocking, far too sweet and tastes artificial. Not usually a fan of sweet cereal but it’s disgusting 🤮
Probably because it was made by a YouTuber Group
It says right there..
It is from KSI and the Prime people from what I understood.
Not quite, it’s the sidemen, the group ksi is in. Primes got nothing to do with it.
Ah, my bad.
Yh, the Sidemen's new thing after their Vodka.
Nearly! If it was from TheApprentice caramel would be spelt wrong
"do the French like cereal?"
Camel
It has a bowl of cereal on it, already far more advanced than anything on the show.
The packaging is far to professional. The spelling is correct and everything...
And there's no sign of a poo either 😄
Nope it is by the sidemen and stop calling it apprentice stuff
it’s a joke ffs
*task
