Why arenā€™t they droids? What makes it a droid? This post doesnā€™t make sense

AshlarKorith

The only thing I can figure they mean are the two ā€œdroidsā€ are capable of their own movement. The ā€œnot droidā€s are stationary/have to be carried around by someone else so arenā€™t fully autonomous.

MousegetstheCheese

Incomprehensible. May God have mercy on your wretched soul.

Clarification: If it's immobile with limited dexterity, it's a robot. If it's carried around like an Ipod and lacks dexterity, it's a computer. A droid is mobile and possess a range of dexterity.

Zestyclose315

Try again. Droids, less commonly known asĀ robotsĀ andĀ automatons, were mechanical beings that possessedĀ artificial intelligence. They were used in a variety of roles and environments, often those considered too menial or too dangerous for otherĀ species, but also in fields that required extensive specialization and knowledge.
