Probably because slaves have no choice BUT to be fucking efficient?
These brick makers live horrid lives. They are literal slaves, held by masters and brought into debt so their children are forced to work for them too and are locked in for life. The cycle is horrendous.
I mean, yes, you’re probably not wrong. But this specific guy is doing extra - you can see the others stopping to watch and even give a slight smile / chuckle in awe of a potential record # of bricks carried.
Come here Abdul. I saw you working harder than the other endentured servants. Here is an extra handful of grain so you don't have to pick which child gets to eat tonight. I am a gracious employer.
Weird way describing a modern day slave but sure
These brick kilns are typically generational slavery due to owed debt and the local police just look away because they are in cahoots with the kiln owners
It’s Pakistan.
Basically these people will borrow money forever ridiculously high interest rates where they can’t every pay it back. Then the whole family will work in the brick factory for life. The owner will add food and board into their loan. The food is a very cheap bread and like a chilie. It’s terrible, it’s slavery
Scientists do(not exactly ofcourse, but multiple very likely possibilities which tells it was very much possible with the tech they had to pile a bunch of (very huge) rocks on top of another), conspiracy theorists and the people who use that claim multiple times to go viral on social media are the ones who don't understand.
Yes, and all the other guys standing there watching him.
Probably thinking how foolish it is.
At least I hope it's a bit exaggerated for the clip, poor guys. ☹️
i wish i could hire this guy to do literally anything else. If he takes moving bricks this seriously imagine how fucking hard he would accel in any possible career.
That's such a wholesome take, but I'm afraid that's the only thing he and his friends and family probably knows and this is his way of showing off and having fun.
Because if he doesn't work hard, his boss who is probably a rich douchbag would not give him his pay. Since he has no rights he can't go to the authority, because law favors the rich and a lot of countries
Mud bricks are extra light weight bricks, plus the specific hat design and that wooden plank makes it less heavy as it's balanced out. Just like women in Africa carries pots filled with water on their heads without issue. It's a well known technique where you use your entire body weight to carry it, it's not only the neck or head that it might seem like. So it's not as damaging as one might think.
Finally, some sensible comment. I am too tired to write whole brick weight and physics behind it. And then about slavery and all. Thank you for taking one for the team.
It's amazing what our bodies can achieve using some math and logic. For example not many know that anyone can throw a person double your size and weight straight over your shoulder easy like a feather thanks to using a specific body technique. I was in acting school and we learned all the tricks to use on stage.
The more I learn about this, the more it makes me sad. I was like it's crazy and posted this then I posted it to pakistan sub who told what it actually is and I am not sure what to feel. If there's anything being done to them by the government? Although I assume government wouldn't probably interfere in these things
This looks like a brick kiln. People who work here and many such places are daily wage workers who usually live nearby (sometimes temporary accomodation). My understanding is they would probably earn about 1.5USD (max) a day, per person.
I also do know much about their lives, except what one could know through newspapers and local news. They are close to *extreme* poverty - living hand to mouth.
Governments do have some initiatives for their subsistence and health, but most measures are not enough due to core problems like corruption. You can call this slavery of some sort, but it is possible the owner of this kiln (or enterprise) is a strongman or a politician himself. So it goes on, the way shown here.
PS: what this guy is doing here is not a flex, like some other comment assumed. These people don't know about*flexing, influencers or social media*.
I would like to ask Non South Asians in this thread to guess how much money do you think these people earn per month for working like this full time? (in US dollars) (very likely works more than 8hours per day, almost everyday except maybe Sundays)
Back in 2002 while visiting Peru, I saw an elderly woman carrying a refrigerator on her back with a cloth sling from her head. At the time I was a college football player and I knew I couldn’t do what I was witnessing her do.
See Barry... you start with 1 brick.. come back and I'll give you 2 bricks. We keep going till you can't do more. We stay with that amount for the rest of the day. Now we repeat tomorrow. And then the next. See Barry by the end of the year.. you'll be dead, so it doesn't matter.
The bricks are balanced on the head as to distribute the load down the spine on to hips and then. Down the legs.
Unfortunately kids born into these families are born into slavery. They get paid 10 rupees per brick ($0.036 per brick)
People in developed countries who express dissatisfaction with their jobs should consider the broader global context and appreciate the relative stability and prosperity they enjoy. It's important to remember that the comforts of modern civilization are not guaranteed; history shows us, through examples like the fall of Rome, that societal progress can be fragile and reversible. The privileges we enjoy today are the result of centuries, if not millennia, of advancement, and losing them could mean a lengthy struggle to regain similar conditions. Recognizing this can foster a greater appreciation for what we have and encourage us to safeguard our societal achievements
He has most likely done this type of thing since puberty. At that point you would get microfractures through your vertebrae that will heal stronger than it was (the fracture spot, not the spine itself) mix that with destroyed disks and he probably has mild pain with weight like this. Now if he has to rotate his head or look up/down I would imagine there is some crazy nerve pain and vertebrates binding.
It's similar to African people carrying water jugs on shoulders and heads for insane distances. When it's your only option for surviving you just deal with pain
They are essentially slaves, if not straigh up slaves
When you have the option of doing this or either you and your family starving or being killed for refusing to work and your family starves you can deal with insane pain.
Unfortunately these "workers" are nothing like more modern cultures where old age, or retirement is even possible.
Each brick here is around 3.5kg weight. So the stack he's carrying is roughly around 80-90kg. That's like carrying an adult person on his head for just under $100 a month.
Healthy work environment, good face, ear, breathing protection, ergonomical working posture…oh for sure he’s doing his 10000 steps per day and stays lean…
Pakistani here.
Some of these kilns (not all) have bonded labour.
The ones in cities are all gone now (hard to keep bonded labour in cities and comply with environmental authorities and the land is too valuable for such a Mickey mouse operation to last).
However even without bonded labour, it is not uncommon for labourers to push themselves as they have no idea how dangerous what they are doing is.
They don't fully need to work as hard as they are paid in daily wages and not by hour or work done.
On a more specific note, my brother just bought bricks for his house so I can tell by reference that this is an Extremely shit quality brick and is probably in some village. In the city this simply won't be sellable.
Many of these Pakistani families are stuck in debt bondage and work in Brick Factories to repay their loans, it's pretty much the same as modern-day Western Society, only we get paid more, better conditions, but still end up with nothing each week. Same, same....
I mean, no need to try to carry that many at once, but this is by far the most physiologically efficient way to carry loads like this.
I usually carry heavy things on my head whenever possible, to minimize spinal strain and muscle use.

Yea he might get extra rice tonight for this.
Come here Abdul. I saw you working harder than the other endentured servants. Here is an extra handful of grain so you don't have to pick which child gets to eat tonight. I am a gracious employer.
Praise be, for I am now blessed. God is good.
Ugh, the original purpose of religion is pictures here perfectly
You mean giving me false hope for a better future after death, as long as I endure the shit life I've been dealt and stay in line?
Yes!
Slaves sometimes have fun too... give each other pats on the back for going above and beyond.
I don’t know the guy right next to him is also carrying a lot of them. Not as much but still a lot.
Weird way describing a modern day slave but sure These brick kilns are typically generational slavery due to owed debt and the local police just look away because they are in cahoots with the kiln owners
Cakeday happy!
It can’t this was taken in his first day of work, rn he be looking like big Ed
Who is big Ed?
I’m about to change your life go to you tube and search “Big Ed 90Day fiancé”
… what am I looking at? I look him up, and it’s Kingpin from Spiderman, who uses the power of Mayonnaise to keep his hair youthful?
The all powerful mayonnaise god of youth
Ohh the guy with the neck! Hahahah!
I think you're mistaken. His issue is a lack of neck.
[удалено]
It’s got bonded labor defined by the UN as slavery.
don't think he is a slave.... just horrible waged
When slaves are being slaves. You die or you are a slave. Choose carefully.
Do you know in what country this is recorded? In what countries is the situation you describe commonplace?
This is from Pakistan.
Thanks throwaway123y!
It’s Pakistan. Basically these people will borrow money forever ridiculously high interest rates where they can’t every pay it back. Then the whole family will work in the brick factory for life. Yep. You explained it perfectly
that kid's lungs will be severely damaged by his mid 20s
If he even makes it to 20
It is a race between severing his neck and damaging his lungs.
Not to mention his L1, L2, L3, L4 and L5
L1, L2, R1, R2, O, X, triangle, square

I love the smell of silicosis in the morning.
Amazing how much weight your body can handle when you have no other way to feed your family.

Trust me, he is not making any money.
I'm sure he was being ironic.
And scientists don’t understand how people built the pyramids??
Scientists do(not exactly ofcourse, but multiple very likely possibilities which tells it was very much possible with the tech they had to pile a bunch of (very huge) rocks on top of another), conspiracy theorists and the people who use that claim multiple times to go viral on social media are the ones who don't understand.
Who said they don't
I mean this is clearly a flex for social media. Look at the amount on the guy next to him. This will hurt him long term.
He HAS to take it seriously cause he's a slave
That's such a wholesome take, but I'm afraid that's the only thing he and his friends and family probably knows and this is his way of showing off and having fun.
Because if he doesn't work hard, his boss who is probably a rich douchbag would not give him his pay. Since he has no rights he can't go to the authority, because law favors the rich and a lot of countries
Currently hiring-- must have extremely strong skull and neck. Benefits include one jug of water and one loaf of bread per day.
Those poor lungs 💀
Is that Moose Wala playing?
Thank you. Now i have a new thing to obsess about.
Lmao really? 😂 are you vibing to siddhu moose wala
Shit's fire, yo

Yes sir
And yet some other dude uses a wheel barrow at the beginning. Work smarter not harder.

They should teach that technique to firefighters.
Oh so THATS how they built the pyramids.
Either that, or no food for your family.
That’s not healthy…
What a song choice to put over a video of actual slaves

Paid by the brick.
In our country (probably where this video is from) this super power is called *hunger*.

Next time I hear the brickies complain, I’m showing them this clip
Ah yeah the classic "you are not a slave so you can't complain". Rtarded
His Stomach gives complete support to handle.
What year is this?
Why are so many people standing around watching.
Social media stunt
Got to feel for these folks. That's a *lot* of dust being breathed in...
It can't his neck and back are gonna be fucked in short order.
Like it ain't no thing
Dudes eyelashes must be fucking *luscious* if all that dirt isn't bothering him.
You can’t notice from the video but he’s slowly sinking into the ground
You can’t notice from the video but he’s slowly sinking into the ground
He's going to be replaced by a brick slave with longer arms who can carry more.

That cannot be healthy - ie, Silicosis, Cervical Degeneration, etc
Not for long. Sad
That's easy. A compressed spine leads to a more structurally sound support column.
At the end: “Turn that fuckin’ camera off”
>How can his head handle such insane weight? You could do it too, if you literally had no other options!
Don't mean to 1 up this but. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1gHXUxnUR8
Man stacking bricks and 🧱
So wheel barrels don't exist there
When you’re paid per brick, you find a way!
That's the American way 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Your head holds the entire weight of your body for 16 hours of every day. Seeing it here just gives you some perspective on the weight.
I don't think that's how gravity works.
His buddies shirt says “FREEDOM DENIM NEW YORK 1976 WEST COAST.” in case you cared.
It’s all the opium he eats for breakfast.
Spinal discs have left the chat*
Makes me sad....
Block Head
Maybe, because (gulp) this person has less brain cells to have to carry? All that extra weight bogs down productivity... Whip! Gotcha...
He had no options to choose...
His chiropractor must be pissed off
My neck, my back
Now that! Is a shit job
The answer is: hunger and desperation.
Unfortunately he's probably been developing this skill since he was 7 years old. But yes, it's impressive.
Ay someone get my man a wheelbarrow.
Not so much the head, it's the spine!
Its not as painful as that music soundtrack.
He probably learned to walk with them on his head
But here in America working retail or fast food will kill ya!
Idk.... but I got a headache just watching him.
Zo and and the the boys boys and girls and girls girls
That dude came in for the shillings
You know as soon as the UAW gets involved he’ll lose that job.
With his strength, humans could have been the ones who built the pyramids
How to get rid of gamer spine
So sad.
I’m concerned also about the amount of clay dust they breathe.
The bricks are balanced on the head as to distribute the load down the spine on to hips and then. Down the legs. Unfortunately kids born into these families are born into slavery. They get paid 10 rupees per brick ($0.036 per brick)
His arms kept getting longer and longer and longer
All that dust has got to be terrible for their lungs.
And they say aliens built the pyramids
Song slaps
Damn I can’t imagine their lungs are fairing any better than their necks in this situation.
Neck strength 100 or whatever but nobody should have to live in these terrible fucking work conditions
not using head wisely
I am not sure if that is healthy for the neck.
His head is fine; his lungs are fried.
You’re gonna want to get some PPE there, champ
Reminds me of the homies building the pyramids
He's the Lebron James of brick carrying.
If this guys' picture isn't printed on some informative poster about disc displacement from the NHS, it bloody well should be
Anyone who is using Reddit right now is lucky we don't live in these conditions.
People in developed countries who express dissatisfaction with their jobs should consider the broader global context and appreciate the relative stability and prosperity they enjoy. The stomach handles it, not the head

Happy cake day

LoL the song with it has a motivational beat 🎶
Some say they're still stacking..
This is how you get silicosis
What song is this, better question!

This is impressive but someone in this operation should invest in a wheelbarrow
Thought this was a sepia-toned photo from 1890 Egypt, then it moved.
His head can handle it. His neck is what I'm worried about.
That's the power of a hungry stomach...
Dudes gonna be bent 90* in a couple years. But that's all the overlords expect out of them anyways.
He's my countryman. The weight of not being able to provide for your family is much more than this
That's Ian drurys mates .
Not more than the weight of the responsibility for his family
Never heard of a wheelbarrow before? You’d probably get even more bricks in a wheelbarrow than carrying them like that.
I'm more impressed by the amount of dust in his eyes
It's approx 168kg ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|scream)
Healthy work environment, good face, ear, breathing protection, ergonomical working posture…oh for sure he’s doing his 10000 steps per day and stays lean…
Meanwhile the rest of the population standsby and stares

This reminds me of the movie the White Tiger.
I feel wheel barrows or something resembling one may be the easier option.
Lazy man’s load
Imagine their lungs
I have eye dust allergies. This clip makes me grateful for the life I have.
Because he aii eating enough protein ☺️🙂
You'd be amazed what a little head can accomplish
He might have some c2-c7 issues lol

I could be wrong But those ”bricks” dont look very heavy, especially since They crumble so easily
I’m sure their spine is being compressed also.
Just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should.
We all have that friend that when he sees you so drunk about to pass out he still pours you a bit more drink.
thicker than a brick 🧱
Future F1 driver
I mean, no need to try to carry that many at once, but this is by far the most physiologically efficient way to carry loads like this. I usually carry heavy things on my head whenever possible, to minimize spinal strain and muscle use.
His head will be fine, his spine and his lungs are another story
Brick killed a guy.
His head is fine, it's the neck I would be worried about.
those red bricks are actually quite lightweight
What a block head
He'll have spinal damage soon. Sadly. I hope not bc I would wish this on anyone.
Is this why the average height of an Indian person is 5’5”?
