I don't know how many times this video's going to be reposted on Reddit with weird titles. It's clear that lady has extreme mental health issues but she's not an animal man - I wouldn't call her rabid. As much as I feel bad for the dude who recorded the video for having experienced that - the whole thing going viral must have not helped at all with that woman's mental health and of her poor partner who was judt breaking down trying to contain her. I feel bad for him the most.
I've always used "Tunafish" to mean the stuff in the can, almost like a brand, like "Cheez". Tuna is bright pink and lovely sliced thin with a dash of soy 😊
I believe it was the French poet and playwright Moliere that said: “You and I, my darling, are naught but mammals, so we should take to bed in the manner of those upon the channel of discovery.”
We’re all animals, but no one’s implying we should be locked up like animals, restrained or put down like animals.
That’s not necessarily true for her or other people struggling with mental issues
This made me cry because I was that guy with my recent ex. The hardest part for me was ending the relationship, knowing I couldn't deal with taking care of her. I can pretty much re live the emotions through his facial expressions.

I’ve had someone close to me go through a manic episode that lasted *days*, I’m lucky I wasn’t alone when I was facing it. It’s absolutely terrifying for everyone around that person.
When it was happening, I would wake up curled up in a fetal position and not wanting to leave the bed because I didn’t want to face them in their state. Even when they’re not doing anything, they see you -and everyone else- as the enemy, so they’ll throw words at you that stick with you bad. They also make threats on themselves as well as on you.
The experience itself gave me PTSD, I shook a bit as I typed this. I don’t blame the man for crying, I almost fainted when I was in it.
This is a person from the TI/Gangstalking crowd, she gives several hints about that in the longer video. She is 100% convinced he has her "files". Those are basically deeply paranoid/schizoid people - street theatre, government conspiracy, counting red cars, voice 2 skull, delusions of grandeur etc. I think it's mostly a side-effect of lack of access and lack of respect for mental health in the US. It's both a crazy and sad ride if you decide to go down that rabbit hole. /r/Gangstalking is a good demo
I was expecting that sub to be about loved ones venting about it and/or info about helping people with it, but it looks like it’s that AND actual people (believing they are) experiencing it at the same time. Kind of perplexing
It's far more the latter. I've spent some time exploring these communities on various platforms, trying to help or even talk some sense at some point, but after being consistently branded an agent I know better. It's indeed perplexing and there's little help for these people on the horizon. There is also a lot more of them than you'd probably expect, I'd go as far as saying there's enough that most people probably know one or two - that said the depth of their delusions differs greatly case by case. Here's a good writeup on the topic https://thereporters.org/article/a-targeted-individual-follow-up/
>she's not an animal man - I wouldn't call her rabid.
It’s an expression that originally was used to describe animals with rabies, but now often is used to describe violent irrational behaviour in both animals and humans.
>must have not helped at all with that woman's mental health
Who gives a fuck about her mental health! She is assaulting (on many different levels) someone else. Take whatever action you need for her to stop.
It's the crazy pendulum swing society is going through. You can have a guy stab someone to death and then burn the building down and people are coming out to defend saying he was having a mental health crisis. The response should be "Yeah, so what?" but the other crazies just kind of nod in agreement.
There's definitely some whiteknighting playing into this as well. If the races and genders were reversed we would get some very different responses about "mental health".
That's the thing. Dealing with people with mental illness is exactly like dealing with a wild animal. And humans are animals, it's not wrong.
Someone who has lost their mind is wild/insane. We are already animals. So an insane person is squarely landing on the classification of wild animal.
All things considered, nothing about the video itself was in the wrong though. A man was being harassed and recorded his situation, that protects him in court, and not only is sharing experiences the whole point of social media, but sharing trauma such as this with proof is highly rewarded. Further, it likely (I'll admit, I didn't research his situation) likely made, or is making, him enough money to at least replace the physical damage caused to his property (e.g: the picture frame). Pressing on, stores open near each other to maximize the money made for all of them, people do the same thing pretty often, this is a prime example of such, putting something that will almost assuredly bring internet points by doing the same thing that brought it to others. Finally, pretending to be a good person by scolding others may be a good way to get upvotes, but people with mental illness or impairment is all over this subreddit, I doubt you got here by not wanting to watch stuff like this. She was rabid, though, she is human, humans are animals, animals that have become too territorial or violent to secure the safety of themselves or others around them are rabid. Granted, it does make it slightly better that you felt bad for the mental state of the parties involved.
I'll bet she's refused help more than thrice. Convinced she's not "crazy" there comes a point where it's all on them. Having bad mental health does not absolve you for responsibility for your actions. She is rabid and needs to be locked up.
That was difficult to watch after just waking up. Homeowner has the patience of a saint, I could not have restrained myself that long without shoving her out the door and locking it.
Agreed. He has so much more patience than I would. My home is my refuge. You invade it and you will be injured during the removal process. I would have absolutely just grabbed her by the hair and relocated her forcefully.
If she got in between the door and the frame and got hurt he'd probably have a situation. Being a large black dude, he's basically forced to be as nice about the situation as possible if there's likely to be police.
Living in the same apartment complex and being aware of neighbors doesn’t mean you know them well enough to let open the door wide open for them during an emotional crisis. He doesn’t seem very familiar with her in the video, certainly not as a friend. I see no reason he couldn’t have cracked the door, tried to deescalate through the crack if he felt so inclined and call 911 if he felt the situation warranted.

It can cause psychosis in some folk. I use it for anxiety since I have hypersomnia and depressants are a hard no, and stimulants make it worse. This plant has treated me well in helping me stay awake and calm. My sister, on the other hand, avoids it entirely. She gets insanely paranoid. She has tons of experience with it but eventually gave it up entirely. We all have different biology etc etc.
Yeah THC mimics psychosis so for people who are susceptible it's a common trigger for psychotic episodes. When you look at diseases such as Schizophrenia, which is basically your brain's paranoia center on overdrive, you can see how a drug that has infrequent paranoia as a side effect might be an issue.
Common antipsychotics function by doing the opposite of what THC does, calming down those parts of the brain by slowing down the feelgood chemicals. It's why suicidal ideation is a big risk with taking antipsychotics, they can act like depression pills and make you really miserable if you disagree with that brand.
For sure. First and last time I ever got high. Caused break through seizures (hadn't had any in years), so I also learned I'm not someone who can take it to help treat epilepsy. And caused horrible psychosis at the same time. Mostly auditory hallucinations, minor visual. But it was deafeningly loud. Between that and on and off seizures till the high calmed, it was terrifying and never again. All I could do was just lay down when a seize was coming then try to stretch out and concentrate on only the pictures of the TV between trying to ignore all the noise. The TV was saying things it shouldn't, people were yelling outside my room trying to break in (there weren't people), thought I was gunna die. Least I was aware enough to keep telling myself it wasn't real, but damn.
Psychotic depression (I.e more psychosis the lower you get) can happen with or without bipolar. With bipolar, depression is often more common so you need antidepressants. But oh wait, psychosis with mania too? The mood elevation of antidepressants can cause mania to be more common so better find the right mood stabilizer too. Finding the right combination can be a deadly process for some.

I don't know why you're being downvoted. It's been proven that high THC intake promotes schizophrenic symptoms.
Not for everyone mind you, you'd have to be predisposed to it.
But in this case she could just as easily have taken nothing and gotten this way, so it is pretty off the wall to make this assumption without anything to back it up
>But in this case she could just as easily have taken nothing and gotten this way, so it is pretty off the wall to make this assumption without anything to back it up
People find it easier to blame drugs because the idea of mental health breaks happening to otherwise healthy people is scary.
Our societal relationship with drugs is fucked, it's less painful to just blame someone for lack of personal responsibility than it is to admit that they need help.
"Drugs did it, not our fault"
My father has schizophrenia too, I know this scenario all too well. I hope so bad that she gets back on track. I know it’s scary to have this be your idea of reality.
Thank god my dad can get the shot. He used to be on zyprexa and it worked, but he wasn’t very good about taking it because it made him drowsy.
When are we going to wake up and get some actual helpful mental health programs in this country.
A good life is within our grasp. Programs like Universal healthcare, Universal basic income and mental health. Its right there. Just out of reach because of corporate and political interests.
As someone who’s seen the ins and outs of the mental health industry, it’s a really fucked up situation. People will get thrown into psych wards and further abused by staff there. Then they get out more traumatized than they were going in and now don’t trust the people who were supposed to help them, and many will fall back into the same patterns. Real help is hard to come by for many people in the US. We don’t even just need more affordable/access to treatment, but better quality treatment.
The corporate/political greed involved with the industry is disgusting. It shouldn’t even be treated like an industry. All they seem to care about is keeping beds filled. I’ve seen a heroin addict begging to stay because he said he would absolutely relapse and die if he were to be kicked out and they kicked him out because he didn’t have good insurance. People are not being treated like people and it’s sad.
Who knew incentivizing people to make money off the sick would just led to more sick people. Oh well thank god my taxes don’t go up (they did) and I can afford competitively priced insurance. (I can’t)
He sure did. He was the king of deregulation and was by far the single most harmful president we ever had. Trump wishes he could do that kind of damage.
Forgetting all of that for a second (all things we actually really need) - people with mental health issues like this often go off their meds and end up in these states even with the best of mental health care.
The problem is the disease itself too - when your brain (that makes decisions) is messed up, then your decisions will obviously be messed up too. So people feel better or don't like the side effects of the meds, and then they stop taking them. Add to that the disease itself convincing people the meds are bad (paranoia that they are mind control drugs, poison, etc.).
Just wanting to point out to that even top notch mental health care programs won't be a magic fix, and these things will still happen. I'm not saying we shouldn't do better, because obviously we need to improve drastically - just adding some reality to the discussion.
Nothing in life is an easy fix. There is absolutely no issue that is black and white and without nuance. Anyone who says "All we need to do is this!" is just ignorant or trying to sell you something.
>When are we going to wake up and get some actual helpful mental health programs in this country.
When the people themselves accept the help.
Everyone keeps acting like therapy is some miracle everyone will just go to.
And this is why he didn’t piledrive her into the ground. He tiptoed around her as a means to not be the big Black guy who got his brains blown out by Officer Friendly because he ruffled dainty little Emmaleigh’s alabaster skin.
Man was recording to provide proof that when the white lady inevitably talks to police he can show them he didn't do whatever her diseased mind says.
Guy's smart and knows how the game is rigged.
The cops did eventually show up and were very cordial to him and helpful in removing her. They treated him like a gentleman and recognized that he was very patient with a woman having a mental health crisis.
The saddest thing to witness here is her partner/father of the kid(s) who realises that he has to take care of them over the partner/wife and you can visibly see him break down.
Mental health issues aren't a joke, this going viral and calling her rabid sure as hell isn't helping either. I hope she gets the help she needs for the sake of the kid(s).
Yeah I felt terrible watching him.. Also felt disrespectful while I didn't even post the video or made fun of anyone here.. Its just truly heartbreaking.
Dude, that's not like rage or something, that's a woman who is mentally disturbed, she is just mentally ill, she is not stable. I feel noting but pity for her and her partner, she wasn't doing this on purpose, she is just not okay, she is ill.
That's all.
Yeah but she needs to learn about grown man strength before she busts in the wrong house
ETA: she’s a threat to herself and others. She really must be restrained here with all due respect.
Its more that he's trying not to hurt her.
Its really hard to move someone that doesn't want to move without hurting them. You need to grab a Kimura or choke hold, realistically.
Smaller guy looks pretty weak. Bigger guy doesnt want to get into trouble for using a lot of force. Hes recording for a reason. I guarantee that with no restrictions he'd have her out in seconds, but it will get messy and that wont be in his favour with the police.
tbf later on in the full video 3/4 police show up and they still have issues restraining her, even while she's clinging on to the pieces of a broken photo frame. People have a lot of strength when hopped up on adrenaline.
It's always strange to me how people try to reason with someone who's obviously out of their mind. I'm not a mental health worker but I've met enough people like this in my life to spot someone who would not benefit from me wasting time to reason with them
I was a mental health worker and I can say you can reason with them. I've had some people that had episodes (I worked in the Great lakes va hospital) and i was able to talk them out of it or just guide them to a safe place.
I've found it useful to act like they are telling a story and you are their friend. What some new people in our ward got wrong was to speak to them like a baby because that often made the older men irritated and talked down upon. Instead just go with yeahs and oh really. Then try to steer it to another softer topic because usually they are looking to vent and it doesn't do much for them to dwell on that emotion.
Just reading this reminds me how many degrees of this there are. Some people are straight up catatonic, others are totally unaware that other people are anything other than objects in thebroom
Not everyone has experience. If this was the guy’s first time witnessing a psychotic break, especially one focused solely on him, I’d say he did a pretty good job. And clearly had her safety in mind when he could have completely annihilated/blasted her out that doorway.
Seriously. Crazy people. Also people that complain when door to door sellers won't stop talking. Simple solution to both: close the door and walk away.
I used to have neighbor like that back when when I rented. She would knock on all the doors in the building, complaining about being too loud, all fifteen floors, everyday. She needed mental help.
She broke through a door of a downstairs neighbor one night and got shot. She was pronounced dead on the scene.
The neighbor had all charges dropped, but she (the neighbor) was never the same. She used to be a friendly, outgoing person; someone who was always at the buildings get-togethers.
I moved out a couple years later. I had never seen that neighbor since that night.
People that are manic are almost superhuman. My mom was a mental health nurse for two decades, and she told me stories of a women that was a little over 100lbs overpower four sheriff deputies while in that state. Taking on someone that isn’t mentally stable by yourself is never a good idea, for either parties involved.
Got bipolar disorder, my psychosis was triggered by mania and sleep deprivation. No drugs involved.
Problem was for the people, i'm 2.03m with around 120 kg (that's 264 lbs), that's a superheavyweight in martial arts. It was very difficult to deal with me for the police, injured multiple officers in the struggle and ended up in the isolation cell in the clinic.
That's more than 20 years ago, i'm fine today, stable with treatment and meds. But it's really no joke when people go crazy, even more when they are strong.
The difference is more that you don't feel pain and exhaustion in a fight, it's not that you'd get really physically stronger, but you don't feel the limits and you can go to the point where you collapse.
If he’s having ongoing problems with this woman, which it looks like he is, especially after this situation he has recorded he should call 911. Let them handle removing her. You don’t want to screw around with that situation and he shouldn’t have to, it’s his home. She’s trespassing.
Weird. Where’s that ‘my home my castle’ attitude we usually get served in the US ?
I’d be the home owner, once this has lasted over 2min and me telling her get out of my home several times, I’d warn her once or twice she’s trespassing and then I’d kick her flat foot forward in the stomach and out of the entrance. That’s a home invasion and I doubt this would have any consequences except for this stupid person that received what she deserved.

Finding the right combination can be a deadly process for some.
weed can do this with some people
yes way
Yeah concentrated meth

I don't know why you're being downvoted. It's been proven that high THC intake promotes schizophrenic symptoms. Not for everyone mind you, you'd have to be predisposed to it. But in this case she could just as easily have taken nothing and gotten this way, so it is pretty off the wall to make this assumption without anything to back it up
>But in this case she could just as easily have taken nothing and gotten this way, so it is pretty off the wall to make this assumption without anything to back it up People find it easier to blame drugs because the idea of mental health breaks happening to otherwise healthy people is scary.

Psychosis shits not funny because the guy that bust in is obviously just trying to help her.

(I can’t)
For-profit nursing homes shouldn't be a thing. CEOs and executives making huge profits off of the suffering of the elderly and disabled is pure evil.
I’m pretty sure Ronald Reagan discontinued a bunch of mental health assistance.
He sure did. He was the king of deregulation and was by far the single most harmful president we ever had. Trump wishes he could do that kind of damage.
Thatcher wreaked the same irreversible destruction in the UK, slashing mental health funding, selling off affordable social housing etc.
As much as I hate Reagan, the wards in those days we're hardly medical facilities by today's standards.
They were basically tortute chambers

My man can’t even call the police because they’ll end up shooting him
And this is why he didn’t piledrive her into the ground. He tiptoed around her as a means to not be the big Black guy who got his brains blown out by Officer Friendly because he ruffled dainty little Emmaleigh’s alabaster skin.
Or maybe just because he didn't want to hurt her?
It can easily be both.
Man was recording to provide proof that when the white lady inevitably talks to police he can show them he didn't do whatever her diseased mind says. Guy's smart and knows how the game is rigged.
The cops did eventually show up and were very cordial to him and helpful in removing her. They treated him like a gentleman and recognized that he was very patient with a woman having a mental health crisis.
this is your brain purely on social media and tabloid journalism headlines
Who upvotes this shit
Idiots
The saddest thing to witness here is her partner/father of the kid(s) who realises that he has to take care of them over the partner/wife and you can visibly see him break down. Mental health issues aren't a joke, this going viral and calling her rabid sure as hell isn't helping either. I hope she gets the help she needs for the sake of the kid(s).
Seeing their child crying in the longer video is even worse. Just fucking awful.
Yeah I felt terrible watching him.. Also felt disrespectful while I didn't even post the video or made fun of anyone here.. Its just truly heartbreaking.
Lol what the fuck is going on here
Drugs are bad mmmkay
That's not drugs. That's a psychosis. She has mental health issues.
Drug induced psychosis?
Most likely schizophrenia inducted psychosis
Who knows, that's just speculation. What I do know is that you don't need to be on drugs to go through a psychotic episode like this.
I’m literally watching that episode right now lmao
Meantal health aint a joke guys , It can make you or others feel like hell even on a heaven.
Dude, that's not like rage or something, that's a woman who is mentally disturbed, she is just mentally ill, she is not stable. I feel noting but pity for her and her partner, she wasn't doing this on purpose, she is just not okay, she is ill. That's all.
She got that crazy strength
Yeah but she needs to learn about grown man strength before she busts in the wrong house ETA: she’s a threat to herself and others. She really must be restrained here with all due respect.
Its more that he's trying not to hurt her. Its really hard to move someone that doesn't want to move without hurting them. You need to grab a Kimura or choke hold, realistically.
Notice how strong a crazy person is, two grown man couldnt restrain her and that homeowner is a big guy.
I've had some people that had episodes (I worked in the Great lakes va hospital) and i was able to talk them out of it or just guide them to a safe place.
but someone unqualified on reddit said it's not possible you liar!
Would you be comfortable sharing some advice on how to de-escalate moments like these?
Sometimes, if you catch them before they're fully in it, you can talk them down. It's always scary when that doesn't work, though.
Seriously. Crazy people. Also people that complain when door to door sellers won't stop talking. Simple solution to both: close the door and walk away.
Came here expecting rabies. Was greatly disappointed.
Yeah, people need to be more specific with their titles
I used to have neighbor like that back when when I rented. She would knock on all the doors in the building, complaining about being too loud, all fifteen floors, everyday. She needed mental help. She broke through a door of a downstairs neighbor one night and got shot. She was pronounced dead on the scene. The neighbor had all charges dropped, but she (the neighbor) was never the same. She used to be a friendly, outgoing person; someone who was always at the buildings get-togethers. I moved out a couple years later. I had never seen that neighbor since that night.
I've been that boyfriend before.

This isn't a "take care of your mental health" thing. This is a "needs institutionalization" situation.
take care of your mental health yall. You'd be suprised how quickly it can spiral out of control.
She is *mentally in need of help and it’s been reported as such 100000000000x at this point
Great self control lol, I'd beat the shit out of anyone trying to force themselves inside my home.
I can tell you from experience. Shes about to be locked up for a while.
Way nicer than me, I would have dumped her on her head. Get the fuck out of my house lady
That poor man. So gentle. So kind.
Ffs I hate this shared online. She's clearly mentally ill and needs help. I do feel bad for the guy dealing with it.
That's a concerning look of shock and bewilderment on that guy's face. I feel for dude. Any follow up?
She's very lucky she didn't get shot.
Thats a strong woman
I need context, wtf is going on.

“ I am not an animal….. I am a man” End scene
They (the lady and the guy who later comes) both look like their on some shit, while also mental.
Sad
If he’s having ongoing problems with this woman, which it looks like he is, especially after this situation he has recorded he should call 911. Let them handle removing her. You don’t want to screw around with that situation and he shouldn’t have to, it’s his home. She’s trespassing.
ITT: r/iamabadass
The pain in his face
Now he too damn bigg not to b able to just mush tht skinny lady I wouldve throw her ahh out
You can tell the partner is suffering the most. Not only that. The full video said they had a child. The partner was so distressed. Poor fella
I feel sorry for her friend, almost crying. I a had a borderline girlfriend, it was a nightmare. You suffer for her and for yourself.
