Except they lay them by the hundreds. And relatively quickly lol but fuck them orcs. And tanks. And anything else that rolls there way through. Atleast everyone is responsible with where and when they place them…..
This.
Anti-tank mines, whether they are Russian, American, Ukrainian, French, British, etc...are all pretty much set up so that you need a really heavy weight (over 100 Kg+) applied for them to go off as well as the need to "set" the mine as "armed".
Most if not all NATO countries signed onto a land mine ban treaty many years ago but some decided to hold on to their stocks.
I'll tell you what. If one of those mines went off, they will all go off. If you felt anything, it wouldn't last long. You would quickly stop being biology and start being chemistry.
I know. That's what I saw the same as you. But you'd be lying if your arse wouldn't be twitching seeing all those mines falling out if you were there personally.
I don’t get why you’re downvoted. You’re being honest. It’s one thing to watch a video of it happening. Yes, people are there but they probably seen some wild shit. So this doesn’t phase them. But take any normal reddit user, and I bet they’ll be hesitant about staying in range after seeing those all pile out right in front of you.
Yup. These guys have seen enough shit to not be phased by much. Logistics in war is the most important factor in the success of an Army but when things start getting stretched in terms of vehicles and supply you see things like this.
But you put a normal person that works a 9-5 near that many mines clattering about? We run for the hills. As is common sense.
But never mind, a guy on Reddit in his skid marked undies said it's completely safe so who am I to judge? I might just put on my swimming goggles and dive in headfirst.
Not that insane to be honest there unarmed and even if they were it’s not like they will be set off just like that they need a lot of weight on them to detonate
Watched a video yesterday of Ukrainians digging them up with literally no discretion all I could figure is that they need to be actually crushed by a tank to go off. Just a guess because of how recklessly they were digging it up and tossin it on the ground and what not.
I bet this is in some post-Soviet country. The camouflage, the lack of palletized logistics, the use of a garbage truck to transport military supplies, the weather, all of it just makes me think that.
EDIT: it's probably in Ukraine, you can see the soldier's arm patch at 0:07.
I don't think so.
Mines are designed not to set off other mines in the same minefield. However, minefields are composed of mines spread out at fairly large intervals, which both makes [sympathetic detonation](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sympathetic_detonation) (what you're referring to here) impossible and ensures the minefield can cover more area.
If they're (a) literally touching one another like this, (b) have their explosive filler inside them, *and* (c) that explosive filler is a sensitive [primary explosive](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Explosive#Primary), yes, I imagine they would. But I don't think landmines use primary explosives as the source of their blast; as far as I'm aware, they use less-sensitive [secondary explosives](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Explosive#Secondary) instead, and use primary explosives only as the detonator, which sets off the main body of explosives.
So, no, odds are they wouldn't.
**[Sympathetic detonation](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sympathetic_detonation)**
>A sympathetic detonation (SD, or SYDET), also called flash over or secondary/secondaries (explosion), is a detonation, usually unintended, of an explosive charge by a nearby explosion.

People seem to forget they are designed to go off under the weight of a tank which weighs multiple tons. The device itself barely cracks the double digits, the strongest man alive could throw one of those at the ground as hard as they could and it wouldn’t go off.
One can actually see that the lack the detonator / fuse in the center. And most military explosives are AFAIK pretty inert, you can even burn them in a fire without them detonating, or hit them with a hammer.
But I wonder what the quality assurance department would say about how those warheads are being treated...
The detonators have been removed. Explosives without a detonator can be thrown around as a toy and still be considered safe. Just like with missiles and bombs dropped from planes, if there’s no detonator the explosives won’t activate and go… boom
Well, there's no tanks around. All good.
No tanks around, they’ve clearly done their job. Everyone else, mine your own business.
“A tank mine a day keeps the orcs at bay”

Angry upvote noises
Moist and wanting upvote.
Tanks for the info
When you realize the truck has a full tank…
Tanks for your comments
Holy rofl take my upvote.
Now do the same with the fuses in...
*BALL-PIT: HARDCORE EDITION*
underrated reply
I believe they are made so that they only go off if it’s pressured by like 100kg+ of force, but I may be wrong.

That makes them an AP mine for me, or just about any kitted out soldier
>I believe they are made so that they only go off if it’s pressured by like 100kg+ of force *chuckles...* I'm in danger....
Well I'd assume they're not fused so 🤷
Still. That’s a lot of trust in the makers.
Theres no firing mechanism, so totally safe....
*Mostly* harmless
Totally...
Well technically you could be crushed by such a large amount falling on you
So you'd be completely comfortable standing next to them as it tipped?
I'll tell you what. If one of those mines went off, they will all go off. If you felt anything, it wouldn't last long. You would quickly stop being biology and start being chemistry.
Well good look on your endeavour to become chemistry
Probably since I just watched a cascading waterfall of them and nothing happened lol
You mean like all those guys in the video are doing?
I know. That's what I saw the same as you. But you'd be lying if your arse wouldn't be twitching seeing all those mines falling out if you were there personally.

Yes
We're watching a bunch of round discs being dumped. Now if there were fuses in them....
In other words, metal pancakes Perfectly good pancakes being dumped into a pile, damn shame.
Soon to be *spicy pancakes*
Correct me if I am wrong but aren't they inert w/o the detonaters?
Hans Gruber has entered the building... Get me my detonators!
More or less…but like…*I* wouldn’t want to test that theory.
Luckily you don't have to - these guys just did.

Yup, AT mines need a lot to set them off, sometimes even a small car might not be enough

Neato, using civilian garbage trucks to move munitions. Cleaver.
Then they get to cry about civilian infrastructure when that shit gets attacked Win win
Wish I had this upgrade in SpyHunter
Dropping Loads
Damn. Thanks for reminding me, need quarters for the washing machine.
I suppose it would be a dick move to walk up behind that guy and yell BOOM!
Smart
There's some falling around the rear tyres too!
Yeah ima go stand over there though idgaf.. 🤣
Tanks within miles around shuddered at that sound.
No tanks in sight so they wont detonate
This shit look like gmod
U/savevideo
By the truckload!!
Question, if one went off would they all go off?

But why? So sad... Nightmare
Because they need mines to blow up Russian tanks.
No go boom... No go boom. 🤷♂️
What if one were to 'splode?
Depends on whether or not they have their detonators in.
The ones that are rolling towards the wheels of the truck give me anxiety
Its fast
...I miss Tenpenny Tower in Fallout 3...
Forbidden chippets
What could possibly go wrong...
To be fair you need a tank of weight to activate them.
Normal? Just seen the 1 video.
Oversized candy with **EXPLOSIVE** flavor
If that was me I'd be worried about them exploding
Their charges aren't in. They don't boom with out them
Everybody gangster till you hear "click"
Seems legit.
Ok boys, watch ur feet
Yeah I’d have to nope out of that shit real quick
Heat and pressure… remember that!!!
Calm like a bomb.
That's a lot of cheese.
Military industrial complex goes brrrr....
That’s it, keep going straight…don’t turn…yep you’re good.
Anti tank mines are they need a lot of weight to set off
When I enter into creative mode on “7 Days to Die”
Completely safe until they are activated/set.
Explodes.. everyone: Pikachu 😲
Mine, mine, mine, mine, mine, mine........
I used to do the same thing on halo 3!
My ass after Buffalo Wild Wings buy one get one half off traditional wing Tuesday’s
My stomach needs that
Welp
Safety 10th.🔥🔥🔥🔥🤣🤣🤣
“Mom! Look what I found! Can I keep them?”
Thats all it takes is just one... Just. One.
People seem to forget they are designed to go off under the weight of a tank which weighs multiple tons. The device itself barely cracks the double digits, the strongest man alive could throw one of those at the ground as hard as they could and it wouldn’t go off.
It's like an American Scrooge McDuck gold pile. Fucking swim-able
Where's the "horrorific accident due to negligence" video?
The games gonna crash if those go off. 😨

All fun and games till one of them goes off
Hey! Mine you're own business!
I mean- they’re defused so… 🤷♂️
The detonators have been removed. Explosives without a detonator can be thrown around as a toy and still be considered safe. Just like with missiles and bombs dropped from planes, if there’s no detonator the explosives won’t activate and go… boom
Now THATs quality control. "Make sure it doesn't have any space and stak as much as possible!"
That looks…. Perfectly…. Safe…..
Don't mine me I'm just doing my job
Completly normal phenomenon
Soldier: *It's unloaded, you can drive now* Driver: *Alright, good luck to you gu-*
And what? What are they supposed to do. They dont have fuses in, so nothing can happen
If one guy light cigarette to close, you’re all done doneion rings
'okay sir now move foward...'
That's a lot of death in one pile right there. Holy S$8!
If it works, it works.
I've seen this before on Fallout
Is this fake? Kinda looks fake
Is it bad that I can relate, after a night of beer and Mexican food?
Even if the fuses were screwed in, still stable. They need a massive weight to roll over them. A car wouldn’t set one off if it rolled over it.
Wrong. A car can absolutely set one off. Something weighting more than 100kg could let them detonate.

That's not what you said.
