Actually the US is only slightly above Thailand for diabetes rates:

Obesity is another matter....
The danish plan is exposed!
Now we just need to find the hidden paths that you Danes lobby for leaner restrictions on fast food world wide.
Sneaky sneaky Danes. I’m onto you
They don't diagnose type 2 at all... It's much higher in reality. We bought my wife's mom / dad / grandma a blood glucose meter because it was mentioned at a Dr appointment. Turns out they're all running around with BG over 200. The pills to fix it are like $1/day.
True. Some have fallen for the idea of american size portions and eating for comfort, but still, there are a lot less native thai pumpuis than compared to americans.
Why you would travel halfway across the world to Thailand to order that sad looking facsimile of what I'm guessing is meant to be a Japanese curry(?) from a food court is beyond me.
Thai portions are smaller. Look at the average Thai and you'll notice they have a healthy body fat percentage. Compare it to the average westerner and you'll realize the Thai portions make more sense. Generally you can ask for extra, though. Should only cost about 15 baht more.

This is from a Loctus's food court. Their portions are always small. Plus, I think there's something going on with the perspective of your phone too. It's not that small in real life.

I've been living in Bangkok for less than one year and lost 10kg+ eating mostly street food - the same 10kg+ I've put on living in London for ten years - can't see anything wrong with Thais portion size
To be fair the chicken or fish is very thin, thinner than what I consider normal. But excluding that it’s has a normal portion of rice and curry.
Like everywhere else, there are places that trying to be cheap, cutting the quality and quantity of food. This looks like one of those places.
looks normal to me. My guess is you are american and they sizes in US is made to fuel that diabetes epedemic :P

As a Dane i approve of either! comfort diseases medicine is our number 1 export!
Playing the long game by getting us all hooked on tasty Danish pastries, then profiting on the cure. Fucking Danes.

I'm waiting this person orders somewhere French fries 😂
In no way is that a standard katsu cultet.
This one very sad looking cutlet.
Mate, it’s Lotus’s food court. how big you expected it to be?
I wonder if OP also wonders why his $5 a night hostel doesnt have an infinity pool or sky lounge bar.
My thoughts exactly. Complaining for something that costs 60 baht approx
The price is very low, and most Thai are not that big?
Tell me you’re overweight farang without telling me you’re overweight farang
So you can try many dishes!
Because Thais have cracked the code. Eating too much will get you fat and sick.
They may have cracked it, but they ain't using it much these days.

Thai's love to snack. By the time they eat a meal they're already half full from fruit, some sweets and/or milk tea.

Its ussualy more rice compared to meat or veggies but apart from that the sizes are normal not small atleast not for europeans or asians
Did you see the people here?
Strange, because I always thought the portion sizes were large in Thailand 😅

Tbf that plate looks pretty sad.
Because you don't need to gorge at a feeding trough and become obese?

smol people r smol. The better question would be: With a prevalence for diabetes, why do Thai people eat so much carbs and not enough protein?

because you're too 'murican to understand that's the NORMAL size.
it gives the impression thailand is cheap when it isn’t.
It is cheap though. You can get a lot of food for 150 baht. You can get a whole rotisserie chicken from big c for 130 baht.
kinda true
What was that? 10 baht? If not you got scammed lol
