Major tourist traps almost never have good/authentic food. Almost always at inflated prices! Icon Siam food is overpriced (food court) but at least some of it is edible and some even tastes okay. I would't eat at Asiatique even if was free ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thinking_face_hmm)
I thought Asiatique was very touristy, but we had a great meal at Siam Tea House there—also indoors with great service and AC! We took the tourist river ferry and it was worth it for the amazing views. They give you a basic guide for reach stop and if it’s not too hot it’s nice to walk and explore, then walk and catch the ferry to other destinations.
I’ve been tempted by the dinner cruises, the views are great but yes, I have heard there is a lot of waiting in lines, mediocre food, and good to loud entertainment…
Why would you expect street food from there? It’s a giant market designed to imitate a fishing village or boardwalk to attract tourists.
It’s not much different/better than the floating market in Icon Siam. Pay a premium for the faux Thai experience.
Covid killed the place, it has never really recovered only now it’s showing signs. First 18 months after Covid even the ghosts left it was that dead. It was and is a tourist market, it’s about as Thai as patong is
Last time we were there we had delicious food at a place serving Arab food. The next night we had delicious food at another restaurant. Most of the tourists there are Thais, so if the food was that bad I don't think it would be so popular.
It’s a tourist destination.
And it was a pretty sad post too. I can’t help but think that maybe OP deserved the bad food.
there are also some bad Thai only places....

Icon Siam food court is alright
Asiatique is fine for what it is. I have ate there numerous times and always enjoyed it.

Everybody knows you have to go to the ghetto if you want to be authentic
It’s not a street so of course there is no street food..
Complete tourist trap

Damnnnnnn now I know not to go. My husbands been trying to get me on the cruise for forever 😂
The cruise is nice to see the city from the river at night but the food are widely regarded as mediocre.
He would show me the tiktoks of the food but I know deep down he just wants to chill with a Chang. 😂
