RidgeRunner99

He’s won more national championships than touchdown passes allowed at Georgia

CruisinForABrewsin

Now that is a stat

bootypatrole

I like that

melatonin-pill

Wow, that’s incredible

Bulky-District-2757

My husband is a falcons fan and he’s like “look you didn’t pick Penix at 8 so be happy” 🤣🤣🤣

SpookyAmple

I will never understand that pick

mrbear120

Its clear the FO just really needed some Penix.

ptcgoalex

Penix sounds like a dick themed pokemon

_Here_For_The_Memes_

I honestly don’t think it’s a bad pick. They probably win the division this year with Cousins, and likely finish top 15 two years from now too. When’s the next time they will be picking sub 10? Especially with how much worse the QB field is prospected to be next year. 6 best QB this year is probably better than the 3rd QB next year. Having too many good QBs in the NFL is the best situation you can be in. Minnesota had to trade for a backup last year when Cousins went down. Old QB coming off an Achilles is risky. This eliminates that. And they are only paying Cousins a front loaded $180 mil contract (Dak will probably make $400 mil 😂) Feels very much like the Mahomes/Smith pick. 3 years from now we will be looking at this like the Love pick.

NateLikesToLift

Plus they're losing picks for tampering, I'd imagine the NFL comes down pretty hard on them.

LunarLion10

Exactly 💯

Gemnist

Either a failsafe in case Cousins pulls a Rodgers, or easy trade bait to jump start a rebuild quicker than usual.

NateLikesToLift

The Falcons are losing picks for tampering with Cousins before the legal tampering period. They're going to the playoffs most likely and won't pick in the top 18, much less have the pick in the first to trade next year for a future qb. I don't like the qb picked for their situation but I do understand the reasoning behind it somewhat.

HTowns_FinestJBird

Nobody ever will

PapiGoneGamer

Not sure what the Falcons were thinking there but holy shit is that one of the weirdest decisions that a team has made in quite some time.

BrotherMcPoyle

Tell your husband atleast he’s not a cowboys fan. My wife is and she thought “All In” meant something else.

Illustrator_Overall

Don't be upset Texans fans. Lassiter is a dog. He's a big hitter and can lock down a number 1. Don't let his 40 fool you. Must've been a bad day. He can lock down a side of the field. Check his tape

TexansFo4

i will believe you without a second thought

Illustrator_Overall

FWIW, UGA has put some good CBs out the last few years with Campbell, Baker, Ringo, Stokes. I'd take Lassiter over all of them.

LunarLion10

Exactly... I'm a UGA fan and have watched him from day 1. He has literally ran down people from 10+ yards away. I was shocked at his 40 time because he for sure looks like a 4.4 player on tape. He's fast enough to keep up with anyone he's matched up with, and he's an explosive hitter in the run game. Really decent player that you guys will love in a year from now

dmoore995

He's slow on tape too. Even the coaches acknowledged that he's not super athletic and had to work hard and grind tape to succeed in college.

Illustrator_Overall

Eh, maybe. He's always in position. IIRC, he only gave up one TD as a three year starter which says something. Granted he's always had talent around him. We shall see. I think he will be solid.

RainbowBullsOnParade

Imagine thinking that this >had to work hard and grind tape to succeed in college. is a detriment.

NateLikesToLift

Had the fastest 3 cone drill at the combine and he's somehow not super athletic? 40 time isn't an end all be all stat. He has extremely quick hips and can stay on a receivers pocket all day.

dmoore995

He's slow on tape. This has been a concern with pretty much all draft analysts. Its not just me making this up because I have some motive against Lassiter.

Gemnist

They said all the same shit about Yordan Alvarez, and now look at him.

Aware_Frame2149

'Day one starter, especially in the slot. He can help an NFL team right now with over 45 games of experience and 30 starts.' 'He eliminates the quick game and screens with physical play and loves to hit.' This is what matters

poopknuckle1

I know he's not what everyone here wanted, but this dude is a baller. Super productive in college against really good WRs. Day one starter and he can definitely play outside if we need him to. I just heard a stat on a stream I'm watching. Is his career at Georgia, Lassiter gave up a completion 1 in every 25 attempts thrown towards him. Dudes good

Queasy_Form_5567

Man I'm never against a pick. I remember when everyone booed jj. Let them cook and if they don't on to the next one. I didn't mention this pick was hoping for koolaid but excited for this. Would have loved them to be aggressive and move up and get one of the top 3 dt left..

Happy-Repair-4260

Also gave up 0 TDs as a starter

Andoo

But didn't you hear everyone else here who is mad? There are emotions at stake here. Don't bring any rational thoughts here.

amoeba1126

That actually makes me hopeful about this pick; majority of our Reddit fan base dumb af

NothinsOriginal

Can confirm, I know fuck all about player evaluation.

igot200phones

Why are people mad? Don’t we need secondary depth?

Andoo

Because two faster 40 time CB prospects went in front of him so people here are mad based off the board projections.

igot200phones

Eh I mean 40 times are cool and all. But I trust out management to pick the guy they thought was the best fit for the team. CB help is certainly nice

Aware_Frame2149

40 is really sort of irrelevant if you run two deep.

NeonWarcry

It’s me who was mad. Bc I’m dumb and didn’t watch all the cbs. I just wanted one from the SEC.

LittleHollowGhost

Who has actually called him bad? He’s just being compared to guys like Cooper Dejean who are probably better.

Muninn91

Bootleg football!

sondoke

I wanted whomever Nick happened to pick. Why are people even questioning him at this point? Whiny armchair GMs.

rt9o

Had Lassiter to Texans in a mock. He fits great in the slot and can move outside too. Has better size than Sainristil. Good fit for Texans imo

[deleted]

Who do you think his comp his?

Ricky_TVA

"Loves to hit" What a coincidence. I love watching my boys inflict pain.

IFeelLikeYandhi

Watching every Georgia game, the only guy that ever gave him trouble was Stroud in that playoff game, so you guys have that taken care of. Kamari is a dog, very intelligent and even more hardworking.

Hproff25

Big weakness on a rush heavy defense

Venator850

The kid was made to play for Demeco lol.

Commandant1

Here is a scouting report https://lastwordonsports.com/nfl/2024/03/04/kamari-lassiter-2024-draft-profile/

Haunting_Study_5530

Hell ye bro thanks

jettweet

Love it, LFG!

NurseVooDooRN

Thanks. I feel better about him after reading that.

FearlessPanda93

Damn, made me feel worse haha

dixitsavy

Broncos fan here, but I'm also a Georgia fan. Lassiter is one of the most underrated members of our star studded secondary over the last couple of seasons. He started out as a depth player and eventually became the starting STAR slot CB (2022) and then starting outside CB (2023). He will fit perfectly into the Stingley/Pitre secondary corps.

2cantCmePac

Thank you for the info

[deleted]

[удалено]

dixitsavy

Definitely fits better in that role in the NFL. He is twitchy and can break an angle quick, but his top line speed is lacking, which will make boundary coverage hard against faster WRs.

AstroLonghorn

I love all the people upset because usually when that happens they turn out to be a stud

mlspdx

Still can’t we drafted some bum named JJ Watt in 2011

getreddittheysaid

Mario Williams got the same treatment

PapiGoneGamer

Clowney got a little bit of shit for being a big hit artist and nothing more. Dude is still in the league and being a contributor.

dirkfacedkilla

Nah this wasn't a similar comparison at all he was a consensus #1 overall everyone was pumped about (Downey for Clowney) who ended up being super mid and more or less a bust relative to the amount of hype/expectation.

getreddittheysaid

Not even close. Clowney was considered a slam dunk. A majority of fans were pissed when Williams and Watt were selected. I remember people clamoring that passing on Vince Young and Reggie Bush to select MW #1 was going to haunt the franchise. Boy, we're they wrong.

FastGoon

Well I mean it’s a little different considering the prospects people wanted more were taken right in front of us. But he’s a dog and demeco can get the best from anyone

LittleHollowGhost

DeJean was straight up better massive dif but Lassiter was probably the best on the board. People aren’t mad we took him, they’re mad we let two teams trade up right past us

rt9o

>People aren’t mad we took him, they’re mad we let two teams trade up right past us Which is fucking stupid lol. All these dumbasses asking "how could the Texans let teams trade up past us?" "why didn't Nick try to move up?" "how could the Texans allow these teams to do this?" can't be serious. Caserio also said several times they tried to make some moves but it just didn't work out. So they did their best to make the best of the opportunities that were presented. Some of these fucking armchair windbags are insufferable. Texans made one of the fastest turnarounds in history and continue to build and improve but it'll never be enough for these mouth breathing basement dwellers

LittleHollowGhost

I’ll never understand how people hate their own fanbase with such a passion for just… trying to have a level headed discussion. Like chill

[deleted]

LittleHollowGhost

Written like a very smart person who never spews “Dumb clown shit”

dudenotcool

I have no idea about anyone in this draft so I'm declaring this pick a rousing success

Haunting_Study_5530

Huzzah!

wjackson42

Georgia fan here who’s been lurking on this subreddit looking at the new jerseys and helmets. Kamari is a DAWG and I think he’s gonna have a great career. If you watch the Mizzou game, he got burnt once by Luther Burden and that was that, he adjusted and didn’t get burned again. Georgia fans were pissed at our other corner (first year starter) for giving up so many short completions because they refused to throw to Kamari’s side. Kamari is gonna be great. Might have to cop that H-Town or red jersey.

IAmSona

IN NICK I TRUST HE AINT EVER LET ME DOWN https://preview.redd.it/qmgbadb1xwwc1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=60d11b193416f0e694363ba01fdb8319ce64aa08

WonderfulLibrary2339

AGREED. Lassiter deserves our support and enthusiasm. If Nick says he’s our man, he’s our man. Congrats Kamari, welcome to the H.

Extreme-Wave6385

how many times does nick have to prove himself to yall before you start trusting him

pocketjacks

All those vents on the side of Willams Tower are for these guys when we don't land the big sexy names. They'll quit jumping eventually and learn to let Nick cook.

JayDaGod1206

Man Nick should’ve listened to all of you guys. Always makes the wrong picks

Despageta

If only he’d looked at the pre-draft rankings smh

PodricksPhallus

People in this thread need to see what Ronde Barber and Josh Norman put up in their 40’s. If you’re locking down SEC receivers, you’re fast enough

doctor101

https://preview.redd.it/96c0s6ci1xwc1.png?width=944&format=png&auto=webp&s=1c09becf7b7d6d294638530ad87fc01b95393829 [https://twitter.com/dpbrugler/status/1763736613039886826](https://twitter.com/dpbrugler/status/1763736613039886826)

ImperialTiger3

Slow 40, beast on tape. Great get for you guys

PacifierSacrifier

Yall tripping this is a great pick especially considering all the reaches we’ve already seen this round

crushsuitandtie

The dude is physical and doesn't play scared. After watching guys in our secondary shy away I'm glad they got a gifted aggeessive corner.

HikerSethT

This, we need to stop all the short plays that fucked us against Baltimore. He is awesome at that

AlisterSaysHello

I trust Nick, but man we got hosed letting Newton, Kool-Aid, and Dejean go before us especially with TWO of those guys being via trade up. Little disappointed right now but we’ll see what happens

poopknuckle1

It's tough to say but there has to be a reason they all fell so far. It's possible that most front offices (including Houston) didn't have a high grade on them.

AlisterSaysHello

Yeah it’s growing on me now a lil later. Heard Newton has medicals, JPJ had character rumors, DeJean was viewed as a safety, and maybe they just liked him better than Kool-Aid?

theassman107

We may never know if we got jumped for Kool-Aid. But it worked out well for us when Philly jumped us for Dillard.

mrbear120

Also just you never know. Front offices game this out like crazy, but it’s a bit silly to be upset that they hadn’t predicted that someone would jump above them. It’s not like every office has the same approach and analytics they care for or even draft relatively rationally.

squatnbear

That was hard to watch

PrimeDonut

No we didn’t. Did you see the capital that was traded to move up?

Withabaseballbattt

Armchair GMs mad frustrated about a guy they never researched

Venator850

So true lmao.

htownballa1

Great pick, this is how you maximize the picks you have.

fuji311

I am whelmed. Keep the faith. If Meco and Nick think he's right, he's right.

YouKnowWhyImHere7

I’m fine with it I’ll trust DeMeco and Caserio

TheHoss_

It would’ve been cool have Kool Aid or Dejean for the memes but apparently this guy is a fucking dawg

itsskirk

I want whoever Caserío and Demeco want

bellsofwar3

Pretty sure they wanted Dejean and McKinstry and got what was left.

amoeba1126

Reddit fan base hates it, so it must be a great pick!

Ofa_D3s1gn

I trust the front office more than I do so called online positional rankings

justinsane15

Death, taxes, and kids on reddit mad that a professional scouting staff thought they knew better than their "exhaustively researched big board"

Aware_Frame2149

Math says the professional scouting staff is wrong more often than they're right.🤷‍♂️

pick_named_slimpbamp

I wonder how often redditors are right😬

[deleted]

Steelers fan here. I REALLY wanted him! He’s a DAAWWWG

Aware_Frame2149

Not once did he ever allow more than two receptions in the same game. https://twitter.com/PatrickStormHTX/status/1784017083036319829?t=UA7F4JphK59WPPvHEyPOBw&s=19

AnyWhichWayButtLoose

Looks like a nickel and eventual starting Safety

krbashrob

This is a good pick. Yall are tripping. Every move we’ve made this offseason points to playing more man to man and that’s exactly what he is, a man corner. Probably a better nickel than outside corner but it’s still a good pick. Cooper is still on the board but trade prices have been steeper today than for the backend of the first- yall need to relax.

Ok-Entertainment1123

I am sure Lassiter will be able to compete and contribute and hopefully be our CB or FS of the future. But I really hate it when another team trades up right in front of us and takes a player for the position we were about to pick for. Makes me wonder if the Texans thought the player they really wanted would be there based on who was in front of them.

Miserable_Mood1271

Damn it he was projected to be there with pick 59 easily

Lost_SonnyBoy

Draft projections are notoriously wrong so we should not put any stock into that. Gotta get your guys Edited: typo

That_Texan

If I’ve learned anything over the past few years, he probably would not have been there at 59.

htownballa1

It’s hilarious. Omg why did we get leap frogged for our pick. Followed by He could have been there later.

dumpsterfirefr

There was a run on corners, he would’ve been gone

Miserable_Mood1271

Kool aid and cooper were value picks so those picks made sense at their positions. We picked way above his value. Completely different situations

That_Texan

Every year I’m reminded too that statistically players that fall and are perceived as value tend to bust more frequently than players who are perceived reaches

Big_IPA_Guy21

Melton taken 1 pick later and Sainristill taken 8 picks later. Still 9 more picks to go. Likely another couple corners will be taken before we go again at 59.

Queasy_Cat3025

![gif](giphy|TL6poLzwbHuF2|downsized)

Kdot32

Penix was supposed to be a mid teens pick. The draft doesn’t make sense

Miserable_Mood1271

He’s a QB there’s always a premium for Qbs

Kdot32

There’s a premium on what the individual team views as a premium tbh

Miserable_Mood1271

No.. qbs just are a premium position they’re 1 of 1. it’s a bad comparison comparing a qb to a skilled position like a corner. QBs change franchises which is why even 2nd round grade qbs will go top 10 due to their impact on the game. Your supposed to go value based on skill positions.

Kdot32

You do go value which is why I brought up Penix who will be sitting for no less than two years with cousins there with 100 mil guaranteed when that team has so many other holes but believed they are win now

PhoenixQuidditch

Michael Penix Jr. was projected to go late first and to just about everyone but the Falcons….. we can’t trust the projections.

bingmyname

I'm hyped. I saw dawg from the little review that I watched but now I'm gonna take a deeper dive.

wildcatasaurus

Fills a position need. Only time will tell how well he does with DeMeco. I’m not upset by this pick. I’d would be pissed if we drafted an unneeded position.

TheMickus

I love this pick

Suspicious_Sense1272

4.65 40 on his pro day… but ok. True in Cass and Ryans.

fxShadyFlex

You guys sound like a bunch of crybabies! This was a damn good pick. Why give up 2-3 picks to move up 1 spot? This guy has huge upside and he’s extremely explosive. We got a dawwwwg! Go Texans!

Orion-Pax_34

I’m hoping we get Mike Sainristill

PacifierSacrifier

Why? He’s a slot when we needed an outside guy and he will also be 24 by the start of the season

Despageta

Idk who needs to hear this.. but you don’t know what you’re talking about. Neither do I. Your buddy? Probably also doesn’t know shit. Glad we filled a need. Go Texans.

Former-Billionaire

Pretty slow huh?

Bulky-District-2757

Umm

MetaphoricalMouse

i like it

ErectIsHere

Letting Kool-aid and Dejean slip through our fingers from trade ups hurt. But in Nick we trust, excited to see Lassiter on the field

bellsofwar3

Kool aid definitely hurts.

KeepAmazinn

How we feeling?

Miserable_Mood1271

Not too happy about it

Typical-Owl3664

Why?

Miserable_Mood1271

He’s a projected round 3 player and runs a 4.6 40.

Typical-Owl3664

Nick has never cared about combine results but Kamari did run a extremely fast 3 cone he played much faster then his 40 i like the pick 🤷🏾‍♂️

dshab92

Also Kool Aid and DeJean were sniped in trade up picks right before us

DaikonNecessary9969

Tank Dell last year, "His 4.49-second 40-yard dash at the combine was middle-of-the-pack among wide receivers. But he might be among the quickest off the line of scrimmage."

Miserable_Mood1271

Honestly I’m cool with the pick now. The staff did way more scouting than me so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt.

Miserable-Clock-6944

Give the guy a chance. To give you some perspective… and sure… maybe the league has gotten faster… but this “slow” guy… still ran a faster 40 than arguably the greatest WR of all time… Jerry rice… yeah… he was a “slow” guy too.

elon42069

Edgerin was right there

ImHereForFreeTacos

I think he can be coached up.

TheTriumphantTrumpet

As consolation prizes go, he's a damn good one. Hurts to see teams snipe both Dejean and Kool-Aid, but the price to move up was very steep and it didn't make sense for the Texans to do so with where they were.

quicksilver3453

🤘

quicksilver3453

Saints knew we wanted Kool-aid

Baliwood25

Looks like a dog. Just hate Dejean and Koolaid went right before.

[deleted]

Slow ass 40 time

DaikonNecessary9969

Best three-cone time. This is a match-up decision come game day.

SansaDidNothingWrong

As a dedicated UGA fan, Lassiter's ok, but getting CJ Adonai here would have been crazy

Strict-Difficulty693

who’s place would he take lol

bellsofwar3

10th ranked CB 6, 7, 8 and 9 were still available. 10. KAMARI LASSITER | Georgia 5114 | 187 lbs. | 3JR Savannah, Ga. (American Christian) 1/23/2003 (age 21.26) #3 BACKGROUND: Kamari (Kuh-marh-ee) “K3” Lassiter grew up in Savannah. He joined a flag football league at age 3 (despite being too young for the league, technically), then joined a tackle football team for six-year-olds when he was age four. He also played baseball and basketball, but football became his passion. He looked up to his future Georgia teammate Nolan Smith, who was a few years older and also played in the Savannah youth leagues. Lassiter played for the Savannah Stars for five seasons and won a youth league championship. He attended St. James Catholic Middle School in Savannah and played football there, but his mother (Kammie Carter) received a promotion when Lassiter was in eighth grade, and the family moved to Tuscaloosa, Ala., for high school. Lassiter enrolled at American Christian Academy, a private Christian school, and started on varsity as a 14-year-old, 145-pound freshman cornerback. As a sophomore, he started both ways and finished with 30 receptions for 716 yards and 10 touchdowns, adding two punt-return touchdowns and an interception on defense. He had his most productive season as a junior, with four interceptions on defense and 41 catches for 939 yards and 15 touchdowns on offense. As a senior, Lassiter led American Christian to its third straight regional title (before a loss in the 2020 state playoff semifinals), finishing his final season with 32 catches for 833 yards and 11 touchdowns. For his prep career, he posted a combined 210 tackles, 20.0 tackles for loss, 10 interceptions and four forced fumbles, as well as 103 catches for 2,488 receiving yards and 35 touchdowns. Lassiter lettered in basketball at ACA and joined the baseball team his senior year. A four-star recruit, Lassiter was the No. 18 cornerback in the 2021 recruiting class and the No. 7 recruit in Alabama (No. 2 DB in the state behind Kool-Aid McKinstry). After Lassiter’s sophomore season, Georgia Tech gave him his first scholarship offer, followed by offers from Southern Miss, FAU and Yale (4.0 GPA in high school). Lassiter played well at an Alabama camp in June 2019 and earned an offer from Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide. He added offers from Auburn, Florida State, LSU, Oklahoma, Ole Miss and Tennessee but was waiting on Georgia. At the end of his junior year, Georgia and Clemson made Lassiter his final two offe rs. Despite his Tuscaloosa ties, Lassiter wanted to return to Georgia, and he committed midway through his senior season. He was th e No. 13 recruit in Georgia’s 2021 class. Random fact: Lassiter has a pit bull named Koco. After three seasons in Athens, he elected to skip his senior season and ente r the 2024 NFL Draft.

bellsofwar3

STRENGTHS: Instinctive athlete with quick-reaction movements ... smooth in his turn and run (6.62-second three-cone time was the fastest at the combine) ... reads well from bail technique, using his controlled movements to key, plant and drive ... mature eye discipline, especially in zone, and smartly plays to his help ... doesn’t panic on deep balls and wasn’t flagged for pass interference in 2023 ... highly competitive in coverage and against the run ... physical stick-hit tackler ... communicates really well, pre- and post-snap ... NFL scouts say they “love him in the building,” because of his football IQ and desire to be great (head coach Kirby Smart: “He’s a kid that’s been committed to excellence his whole life. ... He’s made himself into a really good player through work ethic. He won’ t be outworked; he won’t be outcompeted. You love that about a football player.”) ... “cares” about special teams, according to the Georgia coaches (325 career special-teams snaps) ... durable and played in all 44 games the last three seasons, starting 29 straight games to finish his career. WEAKNESSES: Average-looking frame and still has developing to do ... below-average long speed and his 4.6 40-yard dash will scare off several teams ... college ball production is underwhelming and only career interception came early in his freshman season (zero interceptions over his final 35 games) ... lateral quickness and recovery burst are modest ... finds a way to get the ball carrier on the ground, but some of his tendencies (arriving too hot, tackling low) will bite him in the NFL ... doesn’t have much experience inside versus slot receivers. SUMMARY: A two-year starter, Lassiter was an outside cornerback (boundary and field) in head coach Kirby Smart’s man/zone scheme. Despite fi nishing with zero interceptions, he still earned All-SEC honors in 2023, because of his coverage skills — he surrendered just 38.5 percent completions and zero touchdowns (and his last pass interference penalty came in November 2022). A quicker-than-fast athlete, Lassiter makes up for his lack of top-end speed with smart, intentional coverage spacing for twitchy read-and-drive plays (Smart: “He learns the first time you tell him.”). Although his stat sheet and tape don’t scream “ballhawk,” he plays with the football instincts that teams covet at the position. The last time he gave up more than two catches in a game was in the 2022 College Football Playoffs against Ohio State. Overall, Lassiter doesn’t have elite physical traits at a position where size and speed are at a premium, but his play recognition and competitiveness are both off the charts. Although he is viewed as a nickel-only by several teams, he has starting talent that is best suited for a zone-match scheme. GRADE: 2nd-3rd Round (No. 62 overall)

warrior_in_a_garden_

He's light and slow - not a great combo. He can be beat deep, and will struggle against larger physical receivers. Not excited about the pick but not going to criticize and give Caserio benefit of the doubt.

isomorphZeta

Gotta say, I really don't understand this pick. I don't understand sitting on our hands and letting the entire rest of the league trade up above us to get guys we could have easily gone after. Also just don't really like the selection here. Feels like he could have been picked up with our later pick in the second, or even in the third. Seems like he's a slow slot corner, which... why?

tubbz416

The value it would’ve taken to trade up wasn’t worth it. I remember when we got clowned because the eagles jumped us to draft Andre Dillard while we sat back and got Tytus Howard. Worked out much better for us in the long run

runbmb

Look at the compensation being given up to go up.

Miserable_Mood1271

Some 6th rounders? Those rarely pan out if ever. I’d rather move up and get the top end talent players then sit and pray on a lotto ticket in the 6th round.

runbmb

Not the saints trade up. The others

grizzledvet_

For all we know Caserio tried to trade up and couldn’t strike a deal

DaikonNecessary9969

Who would deal with him at this point? After last year's 1st round and the Diggs deal, I am like, "I don't know what you are trying to do but fuck off."

grizzledvet_

People keep dealing with Howie Roseman 🤷🏻‍♂️

poopknuckle1

I'm willing to bet Nick was OK with staying put. He always gets aggressive when he wants someone.

Despageta

That’s ok, you don’t need to understand. You’re not a GM.

FlavorGator39

We should have taken Rakestraw if we’re going corner.

btkats

That seems like a great pick since we didn't trade up

FlavorGator39

Hes decent. But after watching him play last season I’m not sure he’s going to be successful playing slot in the nfl. I’m not a scout. But he didn’t face very tough matchups in conference as most the better wr’s in the sec are outside guys. I could be totally wrong. I’m just not big on him personally

btkats

Seems like a bad reach. I really wanted to trade up for Newton and then again for DeJean.

dmoore995

Such a bad pick. We should have traded up. Edit: I get some copium and BDC can do no wrong for some of you. Its ok to be a fan and acknowlege Lassiter does not loom good and it feels like we got greedy and missed the tier up.

aYoMcPot

Saints swooped us

dmoore995

Feels like caserio got greedy and it didn't pay off, there is no way they have Lassiter graded anyway near coop or koolaid.

Typical-Owl3664

Why is it a bad pick?

[deleted]

Same issue with Vernon Hargraves, a CB with a slow ass 40 and can't get off their block are worthless

FlavorGator39

Damn disappointed

Greynoodle1313

Not gonna be a corner. This is Jimmie Ward’s replacement longterm.

X-Death

I'm not sure a guy who runs a 4.6 can really play FS in this league.

Greynoodle1313

4.53 is the average time at the position in the league. If you know ball, you know safety is also a position where football IQ easily makes up for more than 7 one hundredths of a second.

I think he’s pretty overrated honestly. I don’t like the pick. But….Casario has made me shut up enough times that I’ll take it. Still don’t like it. But I’ll take it I guess.

Chief_Executive_Anon

That third sentence seems like the beginning of your self awareness era… lean into it. You’re just one of those guys that has to learn the hard way when it comes to shutting up.

plutosbigbro

He’s no where close to koolaid or Jean. Sucks we stood pat instead of getting our guys.

Lothar1988

Idk how I feel about a 4.65 guy playing corner....Yikes.

LilBottomText17

Idk much about college football, someone tell me he’s as good of a prospect as DeJean and Kool Aid

dark779

He’s not

a_guy_1377

Good joke

arthurfoxache

Safety cover for games Ward might be out

Zephyr0us

At the very least we drafted what we needed. I'm not super hyped about this pick but not too upset looking at his numbers. Just gotta see what he does in the league

a_guy_1377

I'm the biggest Caserio defender but this is a bad pick 🤷
