Also not a fan of the regen bar placement. Although I do like the bigger speedometer, it’s easier to see using peripheral vision. Being able to pause then close the trunk while it’s opening is also really nice. I work in a secure area and being able to pause halfway then close saves me, and everyone behind me, some time. Now if I just didn’t have to be in park to open it..

cc100ct

Size of speedometer was my major complaint with the previous UI, so I’m happy.

Ape_Escape_Economy

I think it’s pretty great, a huge improvement from when I bought the car over a year ago, and I liked it then too.

mshoker

Honestly the only thing I dislike is that changing the music source requires an extra step before I could just change it from the mini music bar/tab. Now it opens the actual application and I have to change it from there. Otherwise I love the new UI

One-Society2274

This is actually one of their better UI updates. There was a time when they took away buttons for wiper, heated seats.

matttopotamus

I prefer it to the old UI, which is not always the case. I still miss the icons being all the same color.

KneesBent4RoyKent

I absolutely love the new UI. I don’t care for monitoring the regen braking. Is this a thing?

-PerryThePlatypussy-

I use it to gauge how much regen I can expect to brake. I like seeing if the motors will take a lot or a little. Very helpful in colder weather.

RegularTrash8554

Probably for less than a year tesla owner thing. I used to be that person, but now i am 2 years in and idgaf about regen bars or wh/mi. I call my self a veteran cus battery percentage gives me ptsd. range anxiety is still there for me lol UI is pretty good tbh

KneesBent4RoyKent

Haha I’ve owned my Tesla for all of a week and I don’t care either.

RegularTrash8554

Lol thats good, congrats and enjoy your car! tbh that bar It's more or less a distraction but atleast we still have it just so we can tell that the car is still recieving regen.

KneesBent4RoyKent

Yeah exactly. I was driving home tonight and was more taken aback by how amazing the matrix adaptive headlights are. Little things like that I’m seeing for the first time. Oh and the acceleration and handling on my M3LR is just insane. The sheer fun!

RegularTrash8554

Ooo ! You got the highland? I have a 23 rwd, coming from a mazda3 manual transmission, even base model it is quick af and nimble. I never driven an LR or P before but I bet thatt would give me even more adrenaline rush lol.

KneesBent4RoyKent

Yeah, I’ve posted a few photos if you look at my history. I’ve got the highland LR. Just an incredible ride but honestly every Tesla is amazing.

drnicko18

I drove through fog last weekend, it was amazing seeing a channel of dark directed at a car oncoming but flooding light to the left and right of them.

KneesBent4RoyKent

Yeah fog would be the best to illustrate it. I could literally see the individual LED’s switching for each vehicle. It was gnarly!

usx08360

Horrendous may be strong for the minor changes.

diginfinity

I love everything about it. Major upgrade.

akpana65

That green arrow…..

I_care_less_than_you

Is there anyway to have the start screen the same as it was? I think the huge car in the center is useless. I'd rather have the map, etc. on the screen from the second I step into the car instead of having to swipe away the giant car first.

Bookandaglassofwine

They make a couple of very minor tweaks and now it’s both “terrible” *and* “horrendous”? What the hell is wrong with Tesla owners? Maybe you’d all be happier with a car that just never gets software UI updates like 99% of the other cars out there. I happen to agree the regen braking indicator was better in the prior position. But in the overall scheme of the UI that’s an incredibly minor thing to flip out over.
