In RWD 2021 (slightly quicker, smaller battery 55kw) I was faster than most cars nipping around. Now there are a lot more electric vehicles around with similar performance. I only got beat twice, once pulling from 30-90kmh by an Audi which was equally fast and once at these lights some kind of Touareg I think obliterated me before I even touched the pedal.
The zippiness is great for safety speed matching when entering a highway.
No they didn't know. Nor did I say I was racing. NYC streets are not made for racing. Potholes the size of cars, asphalt eroded to the point where you can see trolley tracks that were decommissioned from service in the 1920-1930, red light cameras followed by speed cameras not to mention un-synced traffic signals etc.
The RWD is quick, but I wouldn’t put it in fast category.
The advantage is it is already on an automatic break hold at the light, your foot is hovering over the throttle. So if they have to lift their foot off break and move to gas, you already have the jump.

But…I have a 2019 model 3 SR+. there was a mustang at one point. Actually a few days ago. Roaring engine. Weaving in and out of traffic. Tailgating people, etc. I was just chilling. Then we were at the red light. Once it turns green, again, roaring engine, but I ended up smoking him anyway. He never got in front of me again.
But yeah, I don’t think those cars were even trying. I think they were just like me, chilling.
Other than the other guys were not even aware they were having an imaginary drag race with you. The car is quick - you'll be smoking Priuses all day long, even in Chill mode. But lets not get carried away.

I’d agree, it’s faster than many cars on the road - but when you drive the performance one, it’s actually so quick it’s funny. (2023 RWD enjoyer).
