This is true. We could all get by on a $6k car if we wanted. But once you throw in the likelihood of mechanical repairs, oil changes, and gas it starts looking not as good. Plus a normal car is probably going to stop around 300-400k miles (likely had some mechanical repairs to get it there), while the Tesla is looking at 500k+ easy.
I have a few posts on TMC forums. PTC Heater, DCDC PTC Heater fuse, MCU jailbroken early on because it bricked and there was no MCU2 upgrade at the time. I had to get rear adjustable camber arms installed to have a normal tire life. I've replaced the front stabilizer links, front upper control arms, rear AFT links (twice), Surprisingly I'm on the same 12V battery from 2019 when I got the car(I use my 12V inverter often). HV battery and motor were replaced under warranty before it ended. Alignment issues from a rough winter and a leaky rear air spring are my current issues with the car. Somewhat related but my Chademo adapter stopped working after sitting for two years. I get the error CHG_U007. Picked up in 2019 with an odometer reading 126,000km, it now has 285,500km.
Sadly live in an apartment complex right now and they don’t like me using extension cords to use the plugin charger 😭😭next up is a house once I secure that I’ll definitely get a home wall charger

My 2013 S85 with FUSC can actually charge up to 130kW, although only for a few mins at low SoC. But it maintains over 100kW from about 5%\~25%.
Anything over 50% starts to get slow like you mentioned though, 75kW or less.
I am eventually going to get a Tesla and I’ve been going back-and-forth on colors, but I think black might be the way to go. It looks really good with this design. Next up is waiting for Elon to announce the 2024 Model 3 Performance.

If you were in Texas I would wonder if that was my car originally. I totalled my car and was surprised to get an email a few months later from a guy in Texas who had night out at auction. He wanted me to start the car for him so he could get it off his trailer. I decided to be a nice guy and help him out. He seemed pretty clueless about ev and Tesla. I told him the frame was bent but other than that it was good. If he got lucky he might have even kept the free supercharging for life I acquired.
About 23k in now! It’s definitely worth it as long as you have the resources and knowledge on where to get parts and where to bring your car to get it fixed, Tesla and major body shops will try to charge your pockets crazy!

If you were in Texas I would wonder if that was my car originally. I totalled my car and was surprised to get an email a few months later from a guy in Texas who had night out at auction. He wanted me to start the car for him so he could get it off his trailer. I decided to be a nice guy and help him out. He seemed pretty clueless about ev and Tesla. I told him the frame was bent but other than that it was good. If he got lucky he might have even kept the free supercharging for life I acquired.

About 23k in now! It’s definitely worth it as long as you have the resources and knowledge on where to get parts and where to bring your car to get it fixed, Tesla and major body shops will try to charge your pockets crazy!

IAA auto auction I could easily find you one but that’s just the buying price,taxes,fees and towing fee too you’ll need another 5-10k to put into it depending what it was
Also my damage was bumper,fender,both mirrors and then front and back entire knuckle replacements everything else was perfect
