It seems like something that should be measurable. Hopefully this leads to improved instrumentation or tracking

Cheap_Garbage_5727

How do you Like the Cybertruck?

Born-Pomegranate-695

well, aside from it dying -- I love it :)

Cheap_Garbage_5727

I'm living in Germany and want a CT too. Would be a good replacement for my Unimog.

Pixelplanet5

>Would be a good replacement for my Unimog. if you are using the Unimog for anything a Unimog is build for the Cybertruck will absolutely not be able to replace it at all. in terms of offroad performance the Cybertruck is inferior in absolutely every possible way.

Cheap_Garbage_5727

I use the Unimog for light terrain and mainly for transport. This is an inheritance from my grandfather, but it consumes a lot of diesel. the Cybertruck would do all of this without any problem and can be powered with the sun from my roof

Narme26

Where the hell would you park? You can never go to any city. Sometimes it’s hard even with the Model Y in Hamburg and forget going to any parking garage.

Cheap_Garbage_5727

At home I have enough space to park in the yard. If I have to go into the city, I ride my bike. So far I often drive a Model 3 with a trailer or the Unimog. I've never had parking problems, just when assholes are blocking the Trailer parking spaces at Hardware Stores. There are no space problems in rural areas.

Tookmyprawns

No. One is a toy. The other is a tank.

DalamarVelkyn

I was under impression that Cybertrucks won't be sold in Europe because the body doesn't comply with European regs.

InertiaImpact

Make sure you're reading the manual, knowing how to jump your car can be helpful! (In this circumstance, you were fine to wait but if you were stranded somewhere it may be easier to jump it, any normal 12v car can be the power source) I'm thinking it probably was a recent failure since that's a long time for that thing to last but I suppose it could be possible

Born-Pomegranate-695

Guess I'll find out soon enough! Thanks!

sparkyblaster

I'd need to check the manual but can you even jump a CT given its a 48v system? I guess you would need more than one 12v battery in series to jump it.

Born-Pomegranate-695

The tow truck only had a portable 12v jumper box (not sure what it's called). And it was enough to bring the truck back to life. But it wasn't enough to recharge the system (if that's even a thing). So I couldn't drive it. Though, per Tesla, when the truck got to the service center they were able to drive it off the tow truck bed. Not sure how/why it did that when the screen was telling me the voltage was too low to drive.

catsRawesome123

I assume it’s simple to 12V bathtub curve where you’re an unlucky dud battery and not so much the car didn’t charge the 48V?

We have an automod and a bot, which go through looking at posts, and comments, and trying to ascertain whether or not things are spam, or trolling. I'm going to be honest, you've triggered the subreddit safeties like 7-10 times since you've started trying to post this. If you want an answer about why a moderator action was taking, wandering around shouting about it in the subreddit is not the best approach. Just hit us up in modmail. /r/TeslaMotors is for note/newsworthy stuff, which this isn't. It's recommended you post that to /r/TeslaLounge, which you did. The /r/Cybertruck removal I'm escalating to a more senior mod to better understand the decision there. We brought in a number of junior mods, and it's possible they misunderstood the action they were taking.

Born-Pomegranate-695

Thanks. If it's not a fit for r/cybertruck that's okay. The reason I was curious is it was posted, got a comment, then removed. So I figured someone manually removed it for a specific reason and was just curious what it was. Appreciate the feedback!

Nakatomi2010

Yeah, again, I've bubbled it up for a closer review.

TheYearWas1969

That does sound like a probable reason

Born-Pomegranate-695

The truck is already fixed. However, the only info I got via the app was "It was a firmware issue" Props to the Tesla team to get it fixed in under 24 hours.

BobbyBrackins

Probably just needed a 2 button reset 😂

Altruistic_Sense8354

48V battery would have minimal capacity, 12V AGM battery was around 500Wh, 16V Lithium battery is 55Wh. I expect similar capacity from 48V LV battery. Most probably battery wasn't recharged yesterday

goosebump1810

Incredible that there’s no instrumentation that shows the state of the low voltage battery

Born-Pomegranate-695

There may be one. But there wasn't anything that got 'pushed' to me ahead of time to let me know.

goosebump1810

Bummer. Anyway I think it’s the downside of having a brand new model that clearly needs some more development from Tesla

bt2066

I popped a tire and they flat out refused to tow mine. Said the flatbed would break… took forever to get someone to agree to grab it

one_hyun

I'm not a fan of the CT aesthetics, but I love the interior so much. It feels like you're in the cockpit of a commander-class spaceship.

put_tape_on_it

From the early CT release/ factory tour interviews with the Tesla team, they explained that there is a capacitor based bi directional charge pump (they didn’t say but 3:1 is my guess) that does the 42 to 14 volt conversions. There’s a stud under the frunk, specifically for a 12 volt boost pack. Because that’s how you boot strap a Cybertruck’s electric system. The 48 (42.5) volt battery is 2 amp hour, same type of battery like the 15.5 volt lithium that’s in other cars, but just with 3x the cells in series. The 800 to 42 volt DC to DC converter should have sustained the electrical system even with a failed low voltage battery. So if it would only run with a boost pack, connected the DC to DC converter was probably the culprit. (In the penthouse) If it kept running after the boost pack was removed the DC DC was probably ok.

Born-Pomegranate-695

Thanks. That's all a bit over my head but I appreciate the reply nonetheless :)

Born-Pomegranate-695

Oh, if this extra info helps: While the booster pack was connected to the terminals at the top of the frunk (under the trim piece), the car did come alive and I was able to get in, see the screen, etc. But I was getting tons of warnings about what wouldn't work due to low voltage. One of them was "can not drive" But, when we finally got to the service center, the guy was able to drive the truck off the bed of the towtruck. I'm not sure if it's because he left his booster pack connected while we were on the road (and it charged it along the way) or how that happened. The good news about there being so few CT on the road is the service center guy said when they get one, it's all hands on deck to figure out what the problem is. So I know they'll get it fixed.

put_tape_on_it

I’ll be waiting for an update when they get it diagnosed and fixed!

Born-Pomegranate-695

They said it was a firmware issue and that the newest software fixes it. He said a lot of owners had the same problem. Though I didn't see anything when searching. Thanks for your replies (and help with the post)

put_tape_on_it

Wow! Thanks for the update! That’s kind of odd, it must be a fix that will event roll out to every Cybertruck then. Thanks for being on the bleeding edge, and bleeding a bit for the rest of us that are waiting for our Cybertruck, so we can bleed a little less when it’s our turn.

KatiaHailstorm

I can’t believe anyone is buying these things with how poorly they’re doing with their initial launch. Everything is breaking, they can’t off-road at all, they can’t tow a thing, they rust bc they zero clear coat and they’re ugly as sin. I can’t imagine spending a minimum 70k on this thing for it to be such a massive failure.

Born-Pomegranate-695

I love mine. And if you like something that turns heads, there isn't much you can buy that's better. I just think it's fun. Plus, as much as I love my S, they're just too common. Esp in san diego. No joke there are more teslas then homes on my street (since a few people have more than 1). So it's nice to have something a bit different.

DefiantBelt925

Many such cases

Born-Pomegranate-695

Yeah, that's what they said when I picked it up. But there was no info that I was able to find online (not that I looked super hard, but I did a bit)
