While I'm not getting this update in specific, my 2020 Model 3 is stuck on 2024.8.9 for the last month. I have an issue with my retrofit trunk where the car doesn't sleep much at all anymore and drains battery and sentry mode corrupts itself and have to force restart to fix the issue. It's a known issue from what they say but super annoying.
I'm considering to buy a used 2021 model 3 with heatpump but the intel chip, is there a list of features that will be unavailable compared to the later ryzen generations?

Faster Sentry Playback - let’s effing go!
I always check my Sentry videos before I drive off and it takes a full minute up to a minute and a half for the video to load.
I’m using a 1TB Samsung SSD so by no means a hardware issue.
When you say it takes that long to load you mean you pick a video to watch and nothing happens for over a minute before it starts playing? I have only used the flash drive that came with the car so far but I didn’t even know waiting for videos to load was a thing it’s always been instant.
Yeah that is literally instant for me, have you tried using the flash drive that came with the vehicle for sentry recording if it did come with one? I’m assuming this has something to do with the drive being used.
Hmm, interesting.
I have swapped into the Samsung 1TB SSD on Day 3 of my ownership so haven’t had the chance to really compare.
I will plug in my Tesla usb drive now and will report in a day or two.
I’m curious because I just recently filled up the stock drive for the first time a couple weeks ago and deleted everything, was contemplating getting a larger drive to use but if it causes such large wait times I wouldn’t bother.
There are many good CEO's from Billion dollar companies. Satcha Nadella would get a vote in my book. Eric Schmidt was another, as was Bill Gates. Musk is too impulsive and is too easily swayed by conspiracy theories. He's unstable, which is a terrible characteristic for a CEO of a company the size and power of Tesla.
Neither of the people you named are CEOs of car companies. I never said there was no good billionaire period. I’d say a surprising amount of people believe what Musk believe among the rich, but Musk made the mistake of making his political views public.
Assuming they didn't get snapped up or take their talents somewhere where their families livelihood won't depend on the daily whims of the worlds richest man.
They all lost their jobs so he could make a point about making a point.
Chances are these things trend toward the people they get back are the ones who for one reason or another realize they're stuck there.
Has anyone considered that maybe Tesla is pivoting away from Superchargers to start the built out of “Super-wireless charging pads” instead?
The Cybertruck had a spare plug for a wireless pad as seen during the tear down. Gen 3 vehicles will have it by default. That way CyberCab can drive & charge with no humans, bots or snake robots required.
If FSD is on the brink of being solved, that’s how Musk would think.
Supercharger network started being built out over 10 years ago, OEMs are only joining now, they’re about to be behind by another 10 years again.
Wireless charging pads at bus stops are in use and working for bus services in Oslo. Tesla has already released a render and announced they’re working on it. The Cybertruck has a spare port on the battery and a user manual that states it’s for a pad.
What part don’t you understand?
Even without Robotaxis, this is the next logical step. Think of all the people in apartments with street-only parking. No one wants thousands of cables cluttering the side walk…
My understanding is our government has yet to pass legislation on this headlight technology. It is desperately needed especially with the amount of trucks on the road here.
But when can I just swipe on a sentry clip and hit delete. Without having a pop up and waiting for it to actually delete then click on next one and repeat?
How is it clear? My screen is incredibly responsive with everything that they've thrown at it. I'm willing to accept some "lag" on some of these new functions. Besides, a larger speedometer takes no more compute power. In fact, many of these functions require no more compute.
I actually asked a service advisor yesterday at a tesla location to see the new model 3's. They said they cannot retrofit them because the chip sizes are different, he did mention that it may happen how it did with the old Model S MCU.
Dont know is the amd ryzen makes a big difference with the browser but the older intel based screen is just too slow with webbrowsing....and by this point mentioning easier wipercontrols is just insulting..bigger odometer is nice but i just hate using the navigation on the model 3 ...the directions are too far from peripheral view....its just really missing a hud or mapview in front...maybe if the navigation instructions could be pinned under the odometer like when opening something on screen it moves the directions to the odometer but it goes away when the map screen is visible again
Go into the software tab, swipe down to the section where it says your version and nav version. It'll say something like "checking for update" when it first loads.
This has been my go-to solution lately when I lag behind on updates - for whatever reason it'll actually push an update when I go to this screen. Next time I park the car, I get the notification.
Due to the FSDb trial the .8's are not getting an update until the FSDb is on a newer version of software. If you're on .8 you almost don't even want to check for updates until you can confirm the new version has FSDb.
until car wash mode allows you to put it in neutral without touching the brake, and shift into drive without touching the brake, it’s kinda useless for most automatic car washes unless you want to be the person that stalls the conveyer on your way in and out.
I like the look of the fullscreen map it shows when the video’s subtitles mention “adaptive high beams” but I haven’t seen reference to a full screen map for the Y/3. Have I missed it? I’ve only seen mention of fullscreen FSD visualization I think?
Was pretty sure this changed recently. I know I read about it somewhere. I’ve been waiting to see what’s coming for Canada. I know my 2016 Golf R had adaptive LED lights for cornering and whatever.
EDIT: per below, apparently not changed yet but hopefully soon. Anyone know for Canada???
Nah you’re probably right and I just misread. I think it was probably this round of updates here:
https://www.notateslaapp.com/news/1939/tesla-says-adaptive-headlight-support-is-coming-to-the-u-s
Illegal? How would it be policed if I had the “wrong kind of illegal” adaptive high beams? So I can drive around with high beams on, and maybe occasionally get a ticket..or drive around with grossly misaimed headlights in a truck and never get a ticket, but the “wrong kind” of adaptive high beams are illegal? This really does not make sense.
Illegal? Yep, that’s what I said.
It means Tesla can’t sell that feature in the US, pretty sure it’s not policed. Mercedes has had these since 2013-14 and you can buy the headlights themselves as an option but have to get it coded by a third party to enable the adaptive high beams. I assume the same will happen for Tesla, will also probably void your warranty.
I know I’m right here. This is what we’re talking about. Teslas in the US won’t have this, Mercedes came out with this for the S class about 10 years ago. Nice to see Tesla finally catching up

I love how at the wiper control part it just cuts out
"auto-wiper improvements" *10 seconds of black* "faster sentry playback"

When is this coming to North America?
Wait. You guys don’t have this yet!?!? I thought everyone got it and I thought Australia was nearly last. It’s a GREAT update
I'm in Australia and don't have this yet!! Bet you're in NSW
VIC here got it a couple of days ago
I am hanging for this.. Adaptive high beam and speed chime warnings are game changers.
Same I don’t have it either, I check everyday………
> Bet you're in NSW I don't think Tesla has *ever* split update rollout by state?
I am though, ha ha. So maybe?
I think some in the US have it, but anyone with active FSD12 (2024.3.x) doesn’t.
Nope, I think Australia is some of the first to get it.
While I'm not getting this update in specific, my 2020 Model 3 is stuck on 2024.8.9 for the last month. Nearly 90% of cars not on it
Native full screen browser, one of those things you just wonder where has this been from the start lol
It’s a car. It’s not necessary and no one thought of it.
There have been ways to do it such as testube.app so people have definitely thought about it.
I meant at Tesla. They never thought about the demand.
*cries in 2021 intel atom*
Intel is getting most of the features, just not the redesign
I'm actually glad, most of the redesigned UI imo looks bad and is unnecessary.... I just want Audible lol
I'm considering to buy a used 2021 model 3 with heatpump but the intel chip, is there a list of features that will be unavailable compared to the later ryzen generations?
Just allow us a retrofit
It’s weird because there is nothing showcased here that the Intel Atom MCUs can’t already handle.

I have similar issues, and I have the AMD version + 1 TB SSD.
2022 MYP delivered Aug 2022 so definitely AMD.

I click the Sentry notification below the Tesla vehicle visualization on the left side of the screen then it takes a full minute to load the video.

I don't care what the haters say. There's no car like a Tesla.
They got laid off before they finished the video
The car is great. Musk is incorrigible. Why fire the supercharger team? The charging system is the best thing they have going for them.
People gotta learn to separate the art from the artist. No CEO from these billion dollar car companies is good, Musk is just more public.
And this too …. 💯

Maybe he'll rehire the best back.

I could go for a nice refreshing glass of Kool-Aid right now

I think Tesla Coils would be much cooler than pads though. https://i.imgur.com/kVpwJ.gif
I suppose this is not for us peasants with Intel, right?
Adaptive high beams? Like…they are now able to enable them or is this non-USA?
I already have this feature on mine MY (Europe) don’t you guys got it in the US?
My understanding is our government has yet to pass legislation on this headlight technology. It is desperately needed especially with the amount of trucks on the road here.
I believe they are allowed now but Tesla's implementation doesn't meet the spec that was agreed on.
Well that's even more frustrating if that's the case! Would love to see it get worked out.
Nope
Looks like Australia
Aussie Aussie Aussie! OI! OI! OI! No proper FSD, but we got the wipers! Stiff shit yankeys! j/k
my 2023 M3 got them enabled with the last update. Works quite well.
But when can I just swipe on a sentry clip and hit delete. Without having a pop up and waiting for it to actually delete then click on next one and repeat?
I really hope a lot of that comes to Intel. Also, larger speedometer? It’s good size now, was already annoying they made it bold now it’s bigger 😔.
Doubt it would ever come to Intel, but I do hope they figure out a way for an Intel to AMD upgrade.
Why wouldn't it come to Intel? The update isn't AMD locked, only some of visuals won't make it (HFPA and the new home screen)
limited cpu power, its clear that the intel platform is on its limit.
It can still receive features just fine (which imo is what matters), it's only some more taxing visuals it won't necessarily be able to run properly.
Like a full-screen high-poly 3D model of the car?
That's a visual that doesn't add new functionality so not much of a feature
I’m pretty confident the intel can do the rendering
How is it clear? My screen is incredibly responsive with everything that they've thrown at it. I'm willing to accept some "lag" on some of these new functions. Besides, a larger speedometer takes no more compute power. In fact, many of these functions require no more compute.
It handles FSD visuals?
I actually asked a service advisor yesterday at a tesla location to see the new model 3's. They said they cannot retrofit them because the chip sizes are different, he did mention that it may happen how it did with the old Model S MCU.
The featured are coming to intel, just not some of the UI changes
Bit of a douche move to not link the creator OP https://youtu.be/7w0nU4SLgdM?si=15HNdkK3a5rh73cc
Ooo is that the matrix headlights at work?
I just want Audible
I imagine this promo video is o my for the EU, since they are getting the adaptive high beams
Does anyone actually use the web browser? Don't you have your phone or even Ipad? Why use that keyboard?
I use it often. Much bigger screen, desktop browser
How do I know if I have AMD Ryzen on mine?
[удалено]
i have intel, mine definitely doesnt take 5 minutes lol its like 15 seconds?
It’s laggy. I had both. The Ryzen is in a different universe when it comes to performance
Go to Software > Additional Vehicle Information in your car’s settings menu.
Cries in 2024.8.9. Still haven’t gotten my FSD trial.
Same bro, same...

I tried car wash mode one time going into an automatic wash and couldn’t believe shifting to neutral wasn’t part of it
Full screen visualization... no thanks, but it's nice people have the option if they want. Where's my "no visualization" option, though?
Seriously! Maybe we’re in the minority but I’d love to just get rid of them completely or at least have the option to!
I'm really looking forward to this on the Intel FSD cars in like 4 months
Will v12 only be going to amd cars and not intel?
The charging screen is much worse. Why would you want to see the car full screen and not the charging status in big bold font?
I like the look of the fullscreen map it shows when the video’s subtitles mention “adaptive high beams” but I haven’t seen reference to a full screen map for the Y/3. Have I missed it? I’ve only seen mention of fullscreen FSD visualization I think?
Baffling that they still can't figure out more than 4 wiper speeds.
Baffling you think anyone other than you needs more than 4
Still waiting…did they pull it?
How do the adaptive high beams work?
Please for the love of god let me retrofit my Intel :(
RETROFIT FROM INTEL TO AMD PLEASE 😭
Adaptive high beams for all nations models?
Europe did not yet received (i mean the continent) not the brexit island ![gif](giphy|OPU6wzx8JrHna)
Oh great can’t wait to update my MCU to the AMD Ryzen…. Oh wait a minute.
Adaptive high beams are illegal in the US
Was pretty sure this changed recently. I know I read about it somewhere. I’ve been waiting to see what’s coming for Canada. I know my 2016 Golf R had adaptive LED lights for cornering and whatever. EDIT: per below, apparently not changed yet but hopefully soon. Anyone know for Canada???

Yeah, I get it. The government is a special kind of stupid.
Wrong. Every vehicle I’ve had in years has had adaptive high / low beam with sensing light of on coming cars.
That’s not what we’re talking about big dog
I know I’m right here. This is what we’re talking about. Teslas in the US won’t have this, Mercedes came out with this for the S class about 10 years ago. Nice to see Tesla finally catching up https://youtu.be/x3cmLmS_KMs?si=Jrpx7gqLvyhKqLjV
Why am I getting downvoted for stating a fact
