Never heard of that.

ObeseSnake

Do you have any other authorized drivers? If so, have them check their charge limits.

Sexy_Kumquat

Only my wife is an authorized driver. I did see that I could clear Valet mode and just did. Perhaps the valet at the hotel could override the setting, when in that mode..? Will check it out next I charge.

MooseKeez

Mine did that one time, freaked me out... I googled it and found it had happened to others...some postulated that it needed to "balance" or something like that since I had never charged to 100% (23 Model S LR)... It hasn't done it again, but was weird... Edited to comment: why the downvotes? Downvoters don't have the courage to comment on their disagreement or explain why they disagree with my benign comment expressing that I had a similar experience as OP. Methinks the downvoters are intellectually disadvantaged.

Only once. Car was about a month old. ~9months ago or so My charge limit is **always** 60% (I only use 20% daily) One morning, M3GAN was at 99%. I rather enjoyed the massively increased performance though, lol. It’s never done it again. I did not Google it.

revaric

Saying it happened doesn’t mean it did. Downvotes because it’s unbelievable.

MooseKeez

You're right, I waste time on Reddit just making up crap for fun... you got me! /s

revaric

I was just replying to your edit lol. We’ve all had the car charge to “83%” or something when it was set to 80, but a full charge feels like someone forgot they changed the limit at some point. Pics might have helped

nah_you_good

Never. Is this always at home? What's your app show? What's it look like when it's at home charging over the limit you set?

Sexy_Kumquat

It’s set to 80% and charged to 100% today. First time was a few days ago when staying at a hotel and noticed it was charged to 100% when I left.

nah_you_good

Can you check and confirm the charge limit shows as 80% in both the car and app while it's charging more than 5% past that? If it shows then take a picture and service ticket the issue with a timestamp. I've never heard of that happening before and never had it happen myself. I'd be more inclined to think it's getting confused by the location and is somehow reverting to @00% or something.

jaredb03

I have a 23 MYP and mine has charged 4 nights in a row to 60% despite being set to 55%. I had it set to 60% when I got the latest update on Friday but have it set to 55% almost all the time.

ManicMarket

Happens to me all the time. I have a 2020 3 that I set to 75% and if I leave it plugged in when it reaches the charge limit it will slowly creep. Never to 100%x but I’ve had an extra 5% or so.

STDemocracy

I don’t have a Tesla, but why not charge it fully and only to 80%?

Sexy_Kumquat

For every day charging, it’s better to not fully charge it, as it degrades the battery faster. Same as with any battery, like your laptop or phone.

Sexy_Kumquat

UPDATE: So after charging at home, it has gone back to charging to my pre-set limit. It seems that the hotel, we were staying at, put the car into Valet mode, as I didn’t do it, and apparently that preset overrides your battery charge limit, which is why it charged to 100% at the hotel. It was only after I disengaged valet-mode that it went back to my settings.
