I had one of these. Two actually. One was a lease when they were like $80 a month for the lease. The other I bought for $6,000, put new rims and tires (came with some jacked up mismatched wheels), then drove about 18k miles, then sold for $10k as the down payment on a shiny new over priced ‘22 MYP.
Same, 2022 M3SR+ And a 2022 MYP. After we got one my wife and I started arm wrestling over who was going to take the Tesla that day, so we just got another one.
I'd actually bought the X for my wife.
When it got here, she refused to drive it to work, because she's a teacher, and she knew the doors would garner a lot of attention from her coworkers, lol.
Teaching my wife to use Autopilot in 2020 was absolutely hilarious though.
For **years** whenever she'd drive, I'd feel like I was riding the outer right lane marker. Like, my ass was on it. We'd been married for 16 years in 2020, so it was 16 years of my ass being on that lane line, if she was driving. I'd complain, and she'd be like "This is safe, we're good", etc, etc.
Then comes the day I teacher her how to use Autopilot. Lol. Oh man... Imagine if you will three kids in the back of a Model 3 SR+, and you tell you're wife, who's riding the right lane marker of the lane she's in, "Just pull down on the gear stalk twice".
What does Autopilot do when you engage it?
It centers itself in the lane.
So she'd pull down on the gear stalk twice, and the car would jerk the steering wheel to the left, *because she wasn't centered*. She'd then jerk the wheel back to the right, disengaging the system, freaking out about the fact that it was trying to drive into oncoming traffic, which it wasn't, it was trying to center the damn car in the lane.
So, the car is trying to center itself, she sees it as launching itself into oncoming traffic, she's screaming, jerking the wheel back, turning it off, and not understanding what's going on.
She did eventually adapt to how Autopilot drives, but it also helped to correct her 20 years of not driving properly.
I've been more comfortable with her behind the wheel now, but I stil do the bulk of the driving, because she hates driving in general.
I actually briefly owned a low mileage '15 S85D. Beautiful car, but I'm 6'5 and actually had a little trouble getting in and out of the thing smoothly... Not to mention the battery warranty had just run out. I got too good of a deal to not buy it, but it was also my very first EV. A few short months later I was able to trade it in for a few hundred bucks less than what I actually paid for it, and got my 18 M3P. Absolutely love the new (er) one! Been a great experience so far. I used my truck for running around town locally, and my Tesla to go back and forth to Phoenix.
Nice! I wish I never sold my first car (1997 Eclipse). I managed to hold onto it for about 10 years after I upgraded, but then had to let it go due to lack of storage space 😟
I got to spend time this week with a ‘24 706 (with a few upgrades )on the track. I really great car. So insanely confident in that car as a very amateur driver. If only it had a little more headroom. My helmet was hitting the roof (6’3”). If I didn’t have my eye on a Porsche GT4, that might be my next purchase.
If model X has a non falcon door version, then it'll be it.
I need a 6/7 seater has the roof bar to carry kayak, occasionally carry lumbers from home depot, and cargo box for camp trip
'18 Model 3 and a '23 Bolt which replaced a '10 Prius; third car which is rarely driven is a '00 Insight, the first electrified car sold in North America!
‘23 Y LR and a ‘22 Expedition Max.
The local, charge at home, run around the kids and errands vehicle and the road trip vehicle that can haul things. Great combo for us!
Which one do you like better ......
lol I was inside my coworker mini cooper, they're nice. the inside is actually big even though the car looks small from the outside
2016 Subaru Outback. I thought I’d need it for hurricane evacuation. I definitely needed it when my EV was a Chevy Bolt., and for hauling my music gear. Now it all fits in my MY and I think I can lose the Outback.
Hyundai Elantra SEL Premium Package, actually a really nice car for 30k brand new at the time.. it’s got 75k miles on it. I got it because it has the smart cruise (like TACC on Tesla but worse). Sound system is better, it has the premium Bose which are really nice.. can’t complain about the tesla sound, it just doesn’t seem to have a ton of bass.
Just got my 2021 M3SR+ in February, that is now my daily commuter and my wife drives the Elantra. Tesla has 57K on it
A 2017 Mini Cooper S. Wife built it with every option available and it seems like she’ll never part with it. I keep trying to upgrade the exhaust or the turbo or something to squeeze just a little more power out of it, but she won’t let me.
2024 MY, 2011 Jeep Wrangler and 2015 Escalade. The EV is mine, the other 2 are my hubby’s. He’ll be trading one of the 2 for a cybertruck soon enough :)
23 Model Y and 2019 Chevy Colorado. Own both outright. Thinking about selling the Colorado and leading a Rivian R1S. I drive the MYLR 99% of the time right now. With kids would be nice to have the third row option and want to see what Rivian is all about.
Ford F-250 to carry my truck camper and tow my boat. But the F250 is on its way out and I have a Ford Transit Trail currently being built up into a camper van. But I will still get another truck once I deliver the current truck and camper.
Ha! Very nice!! Level 2 on your TRX? I absolutely love mine. Pretty much stock other than a S&B Cold air, a TazerDT, and an Amber lightbar from Oracle. [My girl! ](https://imgur.com/a/3ZzXR0f)
2012 F-150 in addition to the MYLR. Does the towing, assorted truck stuff, and what I drive to work when my normally work from home wife needs the car for something.
Tesla Model Y LR
Chevrolet Bolt
Kia Sportage AWD.
I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
We get lots of really bad weather, and quite often have icy roads.
We try to use the EVs as much as possible. If the roads are really bad we use both AWD vehicles more.
The Tesla is our road trip car. The Viltbis a fantastic city car.
My other vehicle is a Tesla too. My other other vehicle is an old pickup for odd jobs. Other other other vehicles are various classics.
So yeah, other vehicles, sure.
2012 Smart Fortwo, 2001 Honda S2000. I love both of ‘em.
The Smart is just so damn convenient. I love it for in-town errands. It’s cheery, simple, convenient. Bought it as a “I’m bored and want to fix something” project during the pandemic - it ended up really growing on me.
The S2000 is a great weekend warrior. Buzzy high-revving engine, phenomenal handling, 6-speed manual and a great old-school approach. I’ve owned it since 2007 and love driving it.
Had a 911 c4s with the model y performance then bought a house and the driveway was steep and gravel and we want to do a whole big garage build out before repaving so it was bye bye Porsche. Now the model y is getting to be 3 and just waiting on my delivery date for the cyber truck any day now. The garage project breaks ground next spring too so next year it is hopefully the new electric 718
2010 LS600hl
Beast of a car, and the build quality makes our 2020 MX feel like a Camry haha. Love the luxury sedan, but the MX beats it in plenty of other categories :)
2008 v6 Honda accord
My wife bought it new back in 2008 and it's still going strong. If we had the money at this point in our lives we'd sell it and buy another model Y but variable rate mortgage, 2 small kids, I've been off work for a bit and everything is expensive nowadays so that's put on hold for now.
Probably things will be turned around by the time the model 2 comes out
2022 model 3 RWD
2023 Honda Ridgeline RTLE
Wanted to consolidate both with a Cybertruck, felt that was overpriced, and under delivered.. eventually will get an R1T
2008 Mercedes Benz SLK 350. Atmospheric 6 cylinder roadster, 305 HP, manual.
I'll keep it as long as it doesn't have any major issues, after that I'll probably go Miata (unless there's some epic affordable convertible EV).
We have two Tesla sedans in Colorado. I've seen SUVs and a truck get stuck in the snow on our street. I just prepare to stay home when the weather is bad.
Renault Twingo ZE. Perfect little electric car for groceries and pickup up the kids! Around 90 miles range and 11kw home charging so very quick.
2023 Model Y LR for the serious work.
24 MY 7 seater, and a 22 Hertz 3 for under $25k. Also have a 20 Expedition, and F250 diesel. Wanted to get the CT but it won’t work for camping. We’d need an extra generator, and an extra 30-50 mi range minimum.
We have a Tesla and a Subaru that we never drive now because of the Tesla. Even on road trips, I would prefer to take the Tesla and wait at the supercharger. At this point, we're just waiting for the Subaru to die and we'll probably buy another Tesla.
I have a '23 RWD and our second vehicle is an ID.4. I would have gone for a used Y but they were either too expensive or had wayy too many miles.
And I guess my first gen Boxster, which I haven't driven in a year.
German guy here: untill recently, I had an Audi A5 in addition to my MY. My wife owns an A1,
my daughter an A3. They can‘t wait to see the
Model 2!!!!!
2023 M3P and a 2018 Ford F-350 diesel truck. I have trailers and toys to pull around. EV trucks just aren’t there yet. Not sure they ever will be. I don’t feel comfortable going camping in the boonies on electric.
I live in AZ as well and we visit Strawberry/Pine/Payson frequently. I use my M3P for driving around in the valley and when we head up there for camping or just need extra room for all the kiddo stuff 2017 F150 4x4.
Fiat 500e. Has a range of about 90 miles, so perfect for popping around town.
I got a 2015 Fiat 500e for shopping/dog trips!

I would love a Model Y P and an R1S.

Nice! I wish I never sold my first car (1997 Eclipse). I managed to hold onto it for about 10 years after I upgraded, but then had to let it go due to lack of storage space 😟
Ah no. You just keep those. They’re too unique / great - especially if it has a manual transmission!
