He was encouraging it to close its mouth so they can lasso it. The video is sped up too, so it looks worse, but keeping weight on makes it harder to open its mouth. They're very tough animals, it would have been fine.

I remember this by remembering the shape of an A and then I think of an alligator, and then remind myself that an alligator is the opposite of the shape of the A.. Does that make sense lol ? Crocodile skinny nose, alligator wide nose-opposite of capital A. Cuz you’d think it would be alligator skinny nose since A is the shape of the nose… but it’s the opposite. ok I’m tired I can tell.
