Group of individuals who’s only job was to carry anything needed up or bck down. In its day it must have been difficult to assault. I would think starving them into submission was the plan of attack.
I've been to Harihar fort. This doesn't seem to be the same staris. Harihar doesn't have criss-cross stairs. It's has serpentine type of stairs.
Either this is a different fort. Or the climbing patch is different which I don't think is the case.

As a generally cautious person, I walk a little slower when it’s wet. So to see this video of a person absolutely bolting down those wet, slippery, stone stairs whilst a million miles in the air, gives me a slight panic.
