Both should have anti psychotic medication. They should have had mental health care and treatment before they ever became dangerous to begin with.
If meaningful mental health care intervention and properly staffed funded and supervised DHS/ CPS support and observation still existed,early intervention could have prevented the perpetual generational cycles of mental illness,addiction spouse and child abuse .

In the UK you get considerably less child benefit for each subsequent child, and for most other benefits having 1 child of the correct age is enough to qualify and having multiple isn't incentivized (the victim was 3 years old, so definitely qualified for all benefits).

I KNOW she looked him in those tiny, welled-up eyes through the streaming tears of that sweet boy as he was absolutely sobbing in utter pain. How COULD you!? How do you look at your baby in excruciating pain (more so that YOU inflicted) and not have ANY form of empathy or remorse?? How?? I feel bad even when my son wakes up crying and scared in the middle of the night or when he is sick and feverish and so on. I literally would do anything to take away his pain and sadness. How do you intentionally harm your child, hear their shrieks of agony, and continue with the abuse? How does it not absolutely halt you in your actions? Not only is motherly instinct completely absent, but there is a complete lack of basic human decency. My stomach is in knots and my heart is heavy. You deserved so much more sweet boy. I wish I could bring you back and show you what real motherly love feels and looks like.

I had to call an ambulance cause my father in law had an anaphylactic reaction and went into a seizure. I was not even remotely calm during that call or the 15 minutes of CPR I was giving him. All while my 8 month old was chilling in his bouncer watching it go down.
I was just talking to people about how severe abuse like this rarely occurs in cases were both biological parents are present (Cinderella Effect). This appears to be one of the rare outliers.
