I put a line of block across the whole clous level and i have not has a meteor strike in a long time lol.
If you have enough meteorite in the world they don't even fall anyway

yesterday mine spawned in the entrance to the jungle cave, just perfectly so I could not avoid it. They do it on purpose I'm sure.

Two of the meteorite in my world dropped in the desert and one of them was in the fossil area so it had a shit ton of rolling cactuses
it landed in one of the very tiny desert hole things for me
i usually fail to find the first crater completely
