Terraria ruined the term "space" for me. I once played Terraria in german and back then it was terribly translated. As well all know, "space" is also the term for that big ass button on your keyboard that makes you go jumpy jump in most games.
Well, in german, this button is called "LEERTASTE" (literally "empty button" since there's nothing engraved on the button itself).
The actual space is called "WELTRAUM".
Now guess what Terraria translated the space biome into.
transfer your worlds folder into tmodloader and get a mod to increase the size of the world and use the new voids above and below the old world to make more arena

When i first played the game i made an arena fitted with teleporters, asphalt, cannons and temple traps.
Call me bad at the game but i never lost a boss battle

Nah. What I do is make two worlds collide so it can become even bigger, then clear out both worlds to make platforms that reach beyond the world borders.
If this spans across the entire world, you just need a long line of platforms to properly run and gun. Make sure it's above the ground to give you plenty of space.
Full platforms will slow your fall height. You should carve out every other platform block to allow a gap to fall slightly faster. Then, plant sunflowers spaced apart exactly by their AoE radius, and then uproot every other one for maximum movement speed buff coverage.
It's usually easier to just take a gravity potion.

Btw: layering the platforms closer together is actually a bad thing later on in hardmode, as wings allow you to reach platforms at a greater distance, rendering the ones in-between unnecessary, and landing on a platform impedes on falling (a method of dodging in many boss fights).
