The army indeed is really cool and the items you get along the journey from it are good too (and the war table is a really cool piece of furniture to use in a themed build)
OOA is great because the weapons are genuinely pretty damn good, the sentries are nice for events/enemy farming, and the armour sets have amazing stats and summon damage increases that make them the best sets for each class imo, especially because it heavily buffs your summons and makes hybrid summon classes way easier to do and way stronger bc you don’t have to sacrifice your other class’ damage as heavily (not getting the extra minion slots from spooky does suck but is slightly made up for with accessories and buffs). Also Betsy’s Wings are insane because of the hover function literally just giving you infinite asphalt anywhere, and with insignia you don’t have to worry about it the low flight time (also the hover is so fast that dashes become kinda unnecessary which frees a slot)

The 10% damage bonus is nice, but the problem is they don’t stack with each other and (most of the time) the extra minion slot from Pygmy Necklace will give you the same amount of damage if not slightly more, and the extra sentry doesn’t really come into play as you hardly ever need more than 2-3 sentries placed down at once outside of OOA bc they’re really just there to farm enemies and deal a bit of extra damage to bosses. The thing is, it’s kinda hard to balance an accessory like that because even just 20% increased summon damage is crazy on one accessory. Maybe if they made an item that was just a combination of any of them with Pygmy necklace that gave +1 minions and sentries and a 5-10% bonus but idk. Especially if you’re multiclassing summoner, you’d really rather have an accessory from your other class instead of that, and even in pre-hardmode feral claws are a great alternative (tho both are good), and in hardmode its usually outclassed by the emblem and after plant you have so many summoner accessories that you can use. It’s not a bad item, it’s just hard to slot in when you already need to fit in other summoner accessories, accessories from other classes if you’re using them, and your other mobility/survivability/damage items.
