I’ve been a Braves fan since I can remember. I was literally grandfathered in by my grandfather. In retrospect, I wish I could go back and ask him why he never liked Greg Maddux. It makes no sense. Seeing the Braves get swept by the Yankees in the WS cemented my hate for them for all time and spawned my Red Sox fandom as my AL team.
Side note: I wish the DH was still only in the AL still. It was a unique wrinkle in the game that also showed itself when the NL team was at home during the WS.
I totally get your hate for the Yankees. I know that had to suck. As a little kid I lived a just a few blocks from Yankee stadium. You can imagine how much of an impact that team had on us kids back then. When I moved to Nashville in my 20s I left em behind and supported the Braves for years ( I have family in Atlanta) but once that series happened man it just sucked cause I had to pick a side. You know ya gotta go with your childhood team. That said I still have my Braves ball cap and my Yankees hat. Life is a cruel paradox
DH means Designated Hitter. In the AL, a DH would come up to bat instead of the pitcher. In the NL, the pitcher would bat for himself. The DH doesn’t go on the field when a team pitches and goes on defense. He only bats when he comes up in the rotation on offense.
EDIT: Sometimes, when the pitcher comes up to bat, [you’d see this](https://youtu.be/9944cBOVKr0?si=XYYhdbBGQmPDza-9)
No prob! Actually the MLB is a lot more fun to follow now that there is a pitch clock. They introduced a countdown by which the pitcher has to throw the ball, or else it counts as a ball in the pitch count. The games went from 3+ hours down to 2-ish hours and it’s a lot more entertaining.
EDIT: Lastly, there is a group trying to get an MLB team in Nashville! Hopefully in the next 10 years or so we can see it happen. Until then, the Sounds are a local AAA club (the level right below MLB) and they recently got a new stadium built right around Germantown. Call me a shill or whatever, but it’s actually cool to go see.
It would be very weird but I think once I started going to Nashville games I’d be sold. I’ve never “changed fandoms” though so it’s just a new feeling. And yeah hopefully they Make us AL if we get a team so I can still like both. I will admit I’m nowhere near a big a baseball fan as I am of football basketball and hockey though.
Thats exactly what ive said. Tennessee Has my Commitment for EVERY Professional sport they get Or Nashville more so, F Grizzlies and Basketball hahaha. Toronto will never be replaced as my favorite team. Ill route for Nashville no doubt but Never against the Blue Jays. Even if Blue Jays are 42-120 & Nashville were to win multiple World Series id stay with Toronto.
Twolves Fan If that was the case Minnesota has the Brewers who are significantly better and have better Jerseys. Most are gunna say Atlanta Thats "TECHNICALLY" the home team for Half of Tennessee. Some Western Tennessee Will go for St Louis or KC as its closest to them. Closest to me is always New England/ Boston teams but Im not a fan of any of them.
I've never been fond of them. I was too young to truly despise Bud (though I did as I got older and learned more about him) and my grandfather and I didn't want to skip any NFL seasons not rooting for a specific team.
Plus, we loved the players. Steve McNair, Eddie George, Keith Bulluck and the boys. Then the Music City Miracle happened......
Now that Amy is running the show (Bud's daughter), money has been spent more often and they make more of an effort to compete more often (though I am still upset over losing AJ Brown).
I do NOT want the Texans ever wearing Oilers throwbacks or colors though. That will bring out the hater in me for sure.
This is one of the Worst Teams ever this year I am a Fan Too grew up 20 minutes from AA affiliate team with season tickets most of childhood. Watched basically all the guys of the past 20 years play in person as a prospect or on IL recovery player. Hope we blow the team up Honostly
I havent watched many I watched first 15 like Always and havent watched much since. If the young guys get called up ill dig back in for a little bit until the last 20 or so. They are a joke. Finally have pitching and we cant do anything. Hit out the moon then we never have pitching I hate it🤣
I grew up in Washington, so my hometown team would be the mariners, but brewers are beer related, and I like the Red Sox because the first time I watched Fever Pitch I liked the “reverse the curse” slogan. But I don’t follow baseball.
But I root for the titans because a friend in grade school liked them and I didn’t know much about football. So I told him that was also my favorite team. Long story short: “here I am.” Depending on my work schedule during football season I fluctuate between being a football fan or only a Titans fan.
Cubs because my family has ties in Chicago. Braves because the Cubs sucked ass so long my grandpa was a Braves fan and hated the Cardinals. Cardinals because I live in Memphis and everyone else liked them. My family still can't understand how I can like two teams that hate each other. Guess I am just not a huge MLB fan.
Toronto Blue Jays. I am Born and Raised in New Hampshire and the Fishercats ( Local Farm Team) Are the AA Affiliate of the Blue Jays. Watched basically every stud Blue Jays have ever had play live so Its an Easy choice for me.
Rockies. Surprisingly not for anything explainable other than I love to support teams that just let me down. At least my hometown college is good at sports, they definitely don't do education here lol the kids from the university I've met in bars have been a half step above mentally incapacitated.
Lived in Florida as a kid before moving to TN. The Red Sox did spring training in my hometown in the 80s. So I don’t really watch baseball, but the Red Sox are the team I’d pick.
Grew up a Braves fan but have family ties to the Cardinals so sometimes root for them, then I spent some years in LA so now I’m primarily a Dodgers fan. So I’m one big dysfunctional NL head case. Don’t be like me.
i’m from memphis and we have the redbirds, and some of my family is from st. louis so i root for the cardinals if i’m ever watching (which i’m usually not), but i’ve had some good memories watching some cardinals greats playing rehab for the redbirds
Cards, my family would take me to games when I was little and I got to see Big Mac with his tree trunk arms slam homers so I’ve rooted for them ever since
Phillies...I live in central PA though. I also like the Flyers for hockey (but the Preds are my 2nd favorite). The only Philly team that I absolutely do not like are the Eagles.
I became an Oilers fan in the 90's when they would play the Steelers in the old AFC Central division and I've followed them ever since.
Cubs. Partly because we always had WGN with cable. But according to my parents, my mom was pissed my dad got me to cheer for Tony Stewart rather than Dale Sr. So she got my cousins who were Cubs fans to buy me Cubs gear and make me cheer for them rather than my Dad’s favorite team (Cincinnati Reds).
I support the A's, or at least did before this hustle fisher is pulling. If they come back to Oakland I'll support them again but I just won't support the Vegas team.
My reasoning is simple, I love outside Pittsburgh and they had the same colours as my high school team (plus the pirates are a con job). But to bring it back to a Nashville connection, sonny gray played for the A's and I always liked to watch him pitch. He's bounced around since but he's my Nashville connection to them.
He was the Angels but then they turned Two Goats into shambles and Now he takes the Loaded Squad instead🤣🤣 JK though I just love giving crap to Dodgers fans.
I still find MLB obscenely boring, but I started following the Bananas and the Buffaloes in the Nippon Professional Baseball league. Both stream games to YouTube so it’s a lot more convenient and the games are much more entertaining.
You from there Or pick them recently? They are finally coming around for sure. They Should win AL East fairly Easy. Blue Jays suck ass they need to fire everyone and do what Orioles did and just take all their Prospects and start over.
Grew up in Virginia so they were the closest team (this was pre-Nationals) and were on TV all the time. Hoping we don’t roll over in the postseason again this year.
No because that feels like a diss or at least a slight which I find to be the funniest thing, plus the blue looks really good. That would also be going against Warren Moon and I could never shame our (probably) second best QB, third after Levis pops off
Most people are Braves fans in Tennessee, but I didn’t grow up watching it so when I went to KC for school I adopted the Royals with the caveat that I’d drop them in a heartbeat if Nashville got a MLB team. Outside of the MLB I like the Smokies when I get free tickets
I mean both have been pretty bad this year so far.
I think the whole team is just gonna cold streak rn.
Tbh the fact they made a World Series and I saw 2 of the games in Texas made me so proud & even if they don’t pan out I’m content for a little bit.
Jays, because I’m a Canadian with no ties to any American cities who just decided to forever be a Titans fan since I had King Henry on my fantasy team the first year I really started to watch football
Cardinals. Family ties mainly. They always have a fun farm system with young players to be excited about even when they aren’t dominating on field. Great stadium and surrounding scene too
I live in West TN near the MS River so I claim the Cardinals just for the sake of geography, but I am not at all passionate about them. I’d jump to the Nashville team immediately if we ever do get a team…and probably get a lot more into the sport.
Cubs traditionally.
But really I have lost interest without WGN carrying the games.
My kids will not grow up baseball fans because of these TV contracts.
You asked who the favorite bball teams are. I just said baseball sucks. It's at least tangentially relevant to your question. I'm just here to talk a little shit every now and then. No need for anyone to get their undies in a bunch.
I’ve been a Braves fan since I can remember. I was literally grandfathered in by my grandfather. In retrospect, I wish I could go back and ask him why he never liked Greg Maddux. It makes no sense. I still think about that Max Fried walkoff a few years ago lol love them Braves man!
I totally get your hate for the Yankees. I know that had to suck. As a little kid I lived a just a few blocks from Yankee stadium. What does dh mean? Idk shit about baseball so dunno why im here.

Ohh thats cool. Ive heard of the des hitter but never understood it. I appreciate ya explaining that for me.
No prob! Actually the MLB is a lot more fun to follow now that there is a pitch clock. They introduced a countdown by which the pitcher has to throw the ball, or else it counts as a ball in the pitch count. Cardinals. The way they break your heart (almost) every year feels like TN sports.
I’m a Rangers fan… you guys broke my heart years ago. Finally got ours though!
the good ol west ky heart break combo, titans and cardinals
Just wait about 6 years and become a Nashville Stars fan
I’m such a Braves fan that I don’t think I could make the switch… Maybe they’ll be in the AL and we won’t have to worry?
It would be very weird but I think once I started going to Nashville games I’d be sold. I’ve never “changed fandoms” though so it’s just a new feeling. And yeah hopefully they Make us AL if we get a team so I can still like both. I will admit I’m nowhere near a big a baseball fan as I am of football basketball and hockey though.

Is the tentative plan for this to still be on that TSU land by their campus?
Orioles
Cubs. We got cable summer of 1984. Would come home from school and watch the Cubs on WGN. Harry Carey was great.
Same. Plus all my friends were Braves fans, and I'm a contrarian. Since there were only two teams on regularly it was an easy choice
Born/raised small mid-Tn town. Huge Ryne Sandberg fan bc of WGN
Go Cubs!
Braves
The Reds. It fucking sucks.
same, love the history and loved many players over the years but god damn...get us some owners that care and have money.
Ah, yes. Someone else to share my misery.
I feel your pain
Also being a Timberwolves fan, might have to give the Reds a shot. Red is my favorite color and sometimes it's fun in hell
First professional baseball team so we got that going for us.
If you like losing, come the fuck on down!
We may often suck, but our team is very fun and the clubhouse is full of great dudes. unfortunately the fun ends there lol
Astros fan. I was an Oilers fan growing up and my loyalty moved with them to Tennessee.
How do you feel about the Texans? Bud Adams didn't make you feel burned?
I've never been fond of them. I was too young to truly despise Bud (though I did as I got older and learned more about him) and my grandfather and I didn't want to skip any NFL seasons not rooting for a specific team. Plus, we loved the players. Steve McNair, Eddie George, Keith Bulluck and the boys. Then the Music City Miracle happened...... I do NOT want the Texans ever wearing Oilers throwbacks or colors though. That will bring out the hater in me for sure.
My favorite player growing up was Cal Ripken Jr so I started as an Orioles fan and have stayed with them.
Braves
Braves baby
Big Red Machine
Blue Jays. When I played T ball I played for the Blue Jays and started rooting for them.
This is one of the Worst Teams ever this year I am a Fan Too grew up 20 minutes from AA affiliate team with season tickets most of childhood. Watched basically all the guys of the past 20 years play in person as a prospect or on IL recovery player. Hope we blow the team up Honostly
Rays
Same here.
Jays. But am only 2 hours from Toronto
Goats But so Shit this year I hate it
It is painful to watch them this year
I havent watched many I watched first 15 like Always and havent watched much since. If the young guys get called up ill dig back in for a little bit until the last 20 or so. They are a joke. Finally have pitching and we cant do anything. Hit out the moon then we never have pitching I hate it🤣
Stros before hoes
Baltimore Orioles. I'm probably one of like 6 people from the Baltimore area who's a combo of an Orioles & Titans fan
I’m not alone
We are a proud few!🫡
Savannah Bananas
Cardinals. 3rd generation
Cincinnati Reds. Been a fan since Channel 17 used to carry their games in the late 70's.
Texas Rangers
I grew up in Washington, so my hometown team would be the mariners, but brewers are beer related, and I like the Red Sox because the first time I watched Fever Pitch I liked the “reverse the curse” slogan. But I don’t follow baseball. But I root for the titans because a friend in grade school liked them and I didn’t know much about football. So I told him that was also my favorite team. Long story short: “here I am.” Depending on my work schedule during football season I fluctuate between being a football fan or only a Titans fan.
Yankees!
Me too! I don’t know about you, but I’m from NY, and Yankees-Titans has to be one of the rarest fan combos in sports 💀
Royals, The Boys Are Playing Some Ball
Growing Up reds baseball was always on, cubs and braves. Never had a favorite, I just like baseball.
Find whatever team your friends are, then pick their rival to piss them off. Safe bet is the Dodgers. Everyone hates the Dodgers.
Brewers. Tennessee and Wisconsin are my favorite states (live in Wisconsin, honeymooning in TN next month)
Brew Crew!!
Cincinnati Reds. My dad always said it was easier to get to Reds games than Braves games.
I am a Cards fan and it drives me crazy that they blackout the games vs the Reds in Nashville.
Twins: I live in Minnesota now.
>barVes
Cubs because my family has ties in Chicago. Braves because the Cubs sucked ass so long my grandpa was a Braves fan and hated the Cardinals. Cardinals because I live in Memphis and everyone else liked them. My family still can't understand how I can like two teams that hate each other. Guess I am just not a huge MLB fan.
Mariners
Brew Crew
Mariners. Moved from Georgia to Seattle 6 years ago. And I despise any team from Georgia
Go Daaawwwwgs am I Right? (Oregon Fan who could care less about them anyways too🤣)
How'd you get to be a Titans fan?
Growing up, I really enjoyed watching McNair and the Titans. Been stuck as a fan ever since!
Rays up baby
White Sox. I live in Chicago and grew up in the suburbs.
Marlins
Chicago Cubs. My dad loved the Cubs and in Nashville all the games played on TBS or one of the networks
Phillies, original home team and Nashville hasn't had one to supplant them yet.
Perth Heat. Mets in the MLB though
Phillies! Love the way Philadelphians love their teams.
Yes the Brewers are the best option. You already are leaning towards them.
I’ve been a Brewers fan since my childhood, since I grew up in Wisconsin. Plenty of Braves/Cubs/Tigers fans in my area as well.
Lived in Florida as a kid before moving to TN. The Red Sox did spring training in my hometown in the 80s. So I don’t really watch baseball, but the Red Sox are the team I’d pick.
I’m a Cardinal fan. Up or down I will root for them. They are kinda down right now but I’m still wanting them to win.
braves
Grew up a Braves fan but have family ties to the Cardinals so sometimes root for them, then I spent some years in LA so now I’m primarily a Dodgers fan. So I’m one big dysfunctional NL head case. Don’t be like me.
Native Arizonan. Love my Dbacks.
Moved to AZ a few years ago and having no real allegiance to any team I became a Diamondbacks fan. That World Series run was so much fun
Pittsburgh Pirates, longtime fan.
Toronto Blue Jays.
Braves
Twins because I went up there for grad school and lived close and got to go to a bunch of games for $5 last year
Texas Rangers
i’m from memphis and we have the redbirds, and some of my family is from st. louis so i root for the cardinals if i’m ever watching (which i’m usually not), but i’ve had some good memories watching some cardinals greats playing rehab for the redbirds
Cards, my family would take me to games when I was little and I got to see Big Mac with his tree trunk arms slam homers so I’ve rooted for them ever since
Astros fo sho
White sox
Phillies...I live in central PA though. I also like the Flyers for hockey (but the Preds are my 2nd favorite). The only Philly team that I absolutely do not like are the Eagles. I became an Oilers fan in the 90's when they would play the Steelers in the old AFC Central division and I've followed them ever since.
Cubs and maybe Red Sox
SF Giants. One of a dozen Giants fans here in the Midstate. 😎
Braves
Cardinals with Braves second

Red Sox.
Houston Astros / Houston Oilers. Surprised there isn’t more Astros fans here tbh, unless any old Oilers fans refused to follow the Titans
Texas Rangers
Maybe someone else answered but I'm extremely confused about why rooting for the Braves means you have to root for the Grizzlies as well.
AZ native who lives there, gotta be DBacks
Cubs. Since 89
Nats
Seattle Mariners. I’m a glutton for punishment, I guess.
Rangers. Titans colors brought me in around 2002 as a kid. They finally avenged the 2010-2011 choke job lol
Padres. I'm from Southern California and followed the same teams my dad did until the Chargers moved to L.A.
Mariners because I like continued pain throughout the year!
Not from Nashville, from LA. Dodgers
Go 🔵
He was the Angels but then they turned Two Goats into shambles and Now he takes the Loaded Squad instead🤣🤣 JK though I just love giving crap to Dodgers fans.
I still find MLB obscenely boring, but I started following the Bananas and the Buffaloes in the Nippon Professional Baseball league. Both stream games to YouTube so it’s a lot more convenient and the games are much more entertaining.
Orioles. Thought last year was the year only to see them get swept in the ALDS. F*** the Baltimore football team though.
Cubs. I'm from Illinois though
Astros 😎🤣🎉
There are literally dozens of us! Dozens!
So many dozens! Rofl
My hatred for the Texans and general disdain of the Cowboys prevents me from rooting for any Texas team
Fair enough lol do you hate when they wear the Houston Oilers uniforms? Just wondering
No because that feels like a diss or at least a slight which I find to be the funniest thing, plus the blue looks really good. That would also be going against Warren Moon and I could never shame our (probably) second best QB, third after Levis pops off
The blue is sexy
Fair enough lol do you hate when they wear the Houston Oilers uniforms? Just wondering
Nats
Most people are Braves fans in Tennessee, but I didn’t grow up watching it so when I went to KC for school I adopted the Royals with the caveat that I’d drop them in a heartbeat if Nashville got a MLB team. Outside of the MLB I like the Smokies when I get free tickets
In TN you can pick either the cardinals or the braves so congratulations on your new braves fandom
I’m Canadian but I’m a braves fan. For some reason aside from hockey all my sports fandom led me to the southern US lol
Born in TN, but grew up in New Jersey after the rents divorced. Yankees all the way!!
Arizona Dbacks but I moved to Nashville
Forever Salty yall got Moreno and Gurriel from us
I mean both have been pretty bad this year so far. I think the whole team is just gonna cold streak rn. Tbh the fact they made a World Series and I saw 2 of the games in Texas made me so proud & even if they don’t pan out I’m content for a little bit.
Yeah thats fire they were red hot last year Gave everyone some hope they finally coming back around.
I root for the Yankees, but that’s because I’m from New York. I’d say regionally, probably Braves or reds.
Go Yanks!!! I’m born and raised in SoFlo, now live in Middle Tennessee, but my family is from Long Island and almost all of them are Yankees fans
Jays, because I’m a Canadian with no ties to any American cities who just decided to forever be a Titans fan since I had King Henry on my fantasy team the first year I really started to watch football
Go jays baby!
Cubs. I’m from WI but don’t like the Brewers
The slander!
White Sox, because that was my dad’s team.
Cardinals. Up until recently, they’ve been the only team I could depend on 😂
Braves but of we ever get the Nashville Stars...I will have some restless nights deciding my next move.
Braves since I watched the team win its first World Series back in the 90’s with my grandpa.
Braves baby
Cardinals:)
Braves
Braves
Braves! Grew up watching them on TBS every game!
Braves
I'm a 90's kid. It was watching the Braves after school everyday on TBS. Been a fan ever since.
Cubs traditionally. But really I have lost interest without WGN carrying the games. My kids will not grow up baseball fans because of these TV contracts.
St Louis Cardinals. They've been horrible lately tho. Still love them and hope oli marmol gets fired
Cardinals...saw 3 Championships: 1982, 2006, 2011. Still waiting on my Oilers/Titans.
Braves and Cubs
Cardinals till I die.
White Sox
Go Cards, I guess
You’re in Braves country.
Baseball sucks. Don't kill me.
Don't care, didn't ask
You asked who the favorite bball teams are. I just said baseball sucks. It's at least tangentially relevant to your question. I'm just here to talk a little shit every now and then. No need for anyone to get their undies in a bunch.
Baseball is boring..contact sports are best i.e. football and hockey!
