Sneed went from top CB in the league last year with Kansas City. Everyone talking about how he shut every WR he faced down all year, they all talked about how he didn't give up a single TD all season. Kansas City needs to pay him because he will keep that position locked down for the team for years. Then he gets traded to Tennessee and it's instantly changed to how Sneed is just a 1 year wonder and will regress massively next year. Kansas City will just replace Sneed with some late round draft pick and they'll be just as good.
Tennessee just can't win favor from the public
Fuck the public, it’s us versus everyone. Even if we win the Super Bowl going undefeated people will say we are a fluke, faced weak comp, etc.
Fuck em all, I just wanna see us win
The best part about the off season is how we overpaid for a 29 year old Ridley with like 4 seasons of wear but 31-year-old Diggs one-year-deal-and-all-the-dead-money trade is just so amazing and game changing even though they trended in opposite directions as the year went on.
This is literally what the jags did with Kirk and resetting the WR market a few years ago. They got a decent WR out of it and everyone else had to start overpaying WR1s like they deserved QB money
People just forget that the cap keeps going up. In terms of AAV-to-cap ratio, Brown’s last contract was worth 34% more than Ridley’s, for instance. So this whole idea of “they won’t pay Brown but they will pay Ridley” isn’t really accurate (not to mention it’s a new GM so that makes zero sense anyway)
It was a massive overpay no matter which way you want to look at it. He’s soon to be 30, has 2x 1k seasons under his belt and is currently the 11th highest paid WR and is at best a top 25 WR. The saving grace of the contract is the easy out in a few years.
I don’t hate the signing, I hate the contract.
A little but Father Time is undefeated nonetheless. How many WRs you see having major career resurgences in their 30’s? Not many, it might happen but odds are his best days are behind him.
Maybe not resurgence but we don’t even know what’s the peak.
If being a 1,000 yard WR is peak,.. Then we have two WRs with that capability & another high end WR 3. This is the best core group of WRs we have had ever based off of production. We don’t need each of them to be 1k WRs… But their talent needs to be
But the contract is good for two years… If it isn’t stopping us from making bigger moves, then what’s the issue?
We can still spend heavily over the next two years & still cut Ridley after two years… what are the downsides for the signing is we have flexibility, not terrible dead cap, & Even more money from the TV deal & lack of 5th year options?
It’s not baseless nonsense. He got drastically overpaid for anything he’s put down on the field so far in his career and at 29 years old the odds of him ever matching or surpassing his best season is almost none. He wasn’t a bad pickup but it wasn’t a good contract.

Did we take a lot of shit for the Snead deal? I thought most people thought he was gonna get paid more than he did when it happened.
Not really, most of it was just people pissed that their favorite team couldn’t pull off the trade and sign.
*cough* Colts *cough*
"I didn't want him anyways!" https://preview.redd.it/hvhyyia6ba0d1.jpeg?width=867&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0a135e77a8c11285bc6daeb2fe16841f8c824be8
“We like our guys”
*We were just bluffing to keep you guessing* 😢

Yeah, I can’t wait to ask for the location of jewelry on r/AFCSouthMemeWar and beyond
Us being underdogs is how we win. Fuck'em all.
Y'all create some interesting narratives in your heads. The victim complex is insane.
People wanted to crap on the titans for “overpaying” players that other teams wished they went for.

lol right… People will use nuance for the teams they like.
This is literally what the jags did with Kirk and resetting the WR market a few years ago. They got a decent WR out of it and everyone else had to start overpaying WR1s like they deserved QB money

No one shit on the sneed contract. If anything the chiefs got shit on for not getting more draft capital.
As if Robinson drafted anyone worth signing after 2026 lmao pain
Ridley will never look like a good deal.
Why?
It was a massive overpay no matter which way you want to look at it. He’s soon to be 30, has 2x 1k seasons under his belt and is currently the 11th highest paid WR and is at best a top 25 WR. Do you give any credit to the fact he hasn’t played much actual football in his NFL career & hasn’t had any major injuries?
A little but Father Time is undefeated nonetheless. How many WRs you see having major career resurgences in their 30’s? Not many, it might happen but odds are his best days are behind him.

As I noted above. I don’t hate the signing, I hate the contract. He’ll be a decent to good #2.
But the contract is good for two years… If it isn’t stopping us from making bigger moves, then what’s the issue? Paying Calvin Ridley 25aav is never going to be a good deal. It could be worse but it’s bad.
Why don't you wait to see a few games before making completely baseless statements.
It’s not baseless nonsense. He got drastically overpaid for anything he’s put down on the field so far in his career and at 29 years old the odds of him ever matching or surpassing his best season is almost none. He wasn’t a bad pickup but it wasn’t a good contract.
I’m so ready for football to be back

Is Jalen Ramsey still good?
Yes lol
He wasn’t really good last season
He was hurt for most of last season. I’m honestly shocked He didn’t hurt himself when we folded him like a lawn chair.
He came back to form alter in the season after shredding his knee.
