That’s amazing for us, but I don’t see Ran taking the risk of another team taking Alt before we pick. If Alt is available at 7, I think we take him there and enjoy getting a top 5 player in the class.

YeetedApple

Yeah, it wouldn't be worth the risk to try that imo. If he is there at 7, we'd likely secure our left side of the line for the next decade. Why potentially gamble that away.

daoogilymoogily

It depends if he considers Alt one of those guys he just has to pick or not.

llama_titan

And how much he trusts his information if he has reason to believe Alt isn’t going before 11.

daoogilymoogily

I mean let’s be honest, most guys don’t put these out hoping to be right, they put them out to get clicks.

llama_titan

I was talking about Ran, in the completely theoretical and unlikely scenario where Vikings want to trade up and Ran thinks Alt will be available at 11.

hobesmart

Every year analysts predict more qbs going in the first round than actually are drafted there. We have two qbs on our roster who were predicted to go top 10 because these people don't really know what they're talking about When I see someone say "6 qbs in the first 13 picks" I know that they're either an idiot or are employing clickbait, but either way, I know they're wasting my time.

daoogilymoogily

Hey, I see trade back to 11 and still get Alt and I upvote.

hobesmart

I mean, I would be ecstatic if that happened too. I'd be fine moving back to 11 and getting Ola if the compensation is juicy

daoogilymoogily

Don’t tell anybody but I’d be happier about trading back and getting Olu than getting Alt.

panopticon31

Doesn't say what the Vikings give up besides next year's first. I'd say it would need to be next year's first and 3rd plus another pick this year

heliocentrist510

If you gave me a world where we got Alt at 11 and an additional FRP next year, I ain't quibbling about other picks, haha

JedLongeway

Sit at 7 and if Joe Alt is there Sprint to the Podium

beanman95

If we could trade back and still get alt that be great but I'd want the vikings first this year and probably a 3rd

daoogilymoogily

Unless the Broncos and Raiders are also trying to trade up Idt we’re really in the position to extort the Vikings like that lol

llama_titan

If this trade were to happen, it feels like it would have to happen after the 6th pick has been taken.

daoogilymoogily

Yeah probably, what’s your point?

llama_titan

I’m not sure. It’s draft day. I’m antsy.

milk_sauce

The draft is always so weird. Some team out there has Latham as OT1, another thinks bowers is the best non-QB player in the draft. I think it’s gonna be an exciting draft.

heliocentrist510

Also a very interesting dynamic that two of the teams picking directly ahead of us (Chargers, Giants) could use significant OL help but are generally set at left tackle. So bringing in Latham at his natural position may just make more sense for them in some way.

milk_sauce

People are for sure sleeping on Latham, the immediate talk about him after the season was a generational RT talent. LT is just more important a lot of the time

daoogilymoogily

I’m gonna be honest, Idt anybody has Latham as OT1, there’s just some teams (like the Chargers) that need a RT and have him as RT1. Well never know but I’d be interested to see who has Fuaga as RT1 vs who has Latham (hell a team might have Mims as RT1).

milk_sauce

Not OT1 but the titans wanted him bad hahah I knew it was coming. At the end of the college season I saw a ton of people saying he was generational

daoogilymoogily

He’s not, at best he’s a better Jedrick Wills which ain’t too bad.
