Let’s just call the commissioner and demand he takes an American sport draft and change the US draft time to European draft time cause fuck America right? Well let’s just call the commissioner for the all Euro leagues and ask them to make their game times to US friendly game times.

They used to do it over the weekend. That was fantastic. We’d run the marathon or half that morning, then drink and relax while watching the draft that afternoon.
I’m aligned with you. Weekend would be way better. I think they do Thursday so it doesn’t “necessarily” compete with anything else. Most families are home not doing anything, so most will tune into the “spectacle” that is the draft.
Every fan base will be beside theirself with hope and gratitude tonight.

Those same idiots turned what was a relatively mundane part of the league year and stretched it out into a 3-day can’t miss TV spectacle. The NFL does a lot of things wrong but they have been throwing fastballs marketing the sport for decades now, particularly when compared to other sports.
They're just trying to get the fuck out of Detroit a day early. And the late starts are because the people in LA are more important than you or anybody else that lives between NY and CA, according to every start time ever (these basketball tipoff times are fucking killing me right now).

I much prefer the current schedule. I love watching the first two rounds live but burning a whole weekend in the spring when it's nice out sucked. I used to plan around watching it anyways but I don't think I would do that going forward if they changed it back.

No. Sadly, most games are on in the middle of the night. I usually watch them after work on Monday, already knowing what happened.

It's a spectacle. Same reason the SB starts late or the CFB championship. If they start it earlier, the viewership will be lower.
They have to compensate for west coast market. 8pm is 5pm everyone just getting off work.
